This is the first album of Garth's that I bought. "Rodeo" rocked my world. This is a C/W album, but has the faster edge to it again. Blue is my favorite color, so that was a factor in buying the album as well. A country fan needs at least one GB album in their collection.

I think this was my third album from Garth. I was caught on his catchy tunes and faster sound. When I got this one, it was mellower than what I had which was a minor dissappointment. This album put him on the charts. It is traditional Country music, unlike his later work going more Pop. He is a self proclaimed Kiss fan, but you wouldn't know it with this album.

"Friends in Low Places" hit big for me and is what first made me aware of the great artist. It is a C/W album, but fit in with Pop just like Hank Williams Jr. did. I like the faster pace presented on some songs. I borrowed someone's album and copied it. It is nice stuff.

Steve Augeri does a fine job of singing. He just doesn't quite hit it like Perry. I could enjoy every song her, but I prefer the heavier sounds from the band. Occasionally Neal would put in the guitar, but it would be brief. I consider this soft rock.

I have heard this guy on the radio and really prefer his heavier music. He has a strong voice to do the Hard Rock sound. I can see him doing the soft Rock to keep the women around and maybe ideal social life. He will be considered Pop no matter what he does. I just wish he went further down the Rock n Roll path.
