My first thoughts of Lost Odyssey
Dear all,
It has been a long time since my last update, but after almost a year I am back.
Two months ago I bought an Xbox 360, and with I got Assassins Creed, which was an amazing game...till it ceased to work. And then I got the Orange Box, finished it, and also Guitar Hero 2 which keeps me occupied for hours on end.
And just this last week I bought Lost Odyssey. That thing that attracted me to lost Odyssey was the cover. It looked amazing, and the fact that written under the title was 'From the makers of Final Fantasy' was the selling point. I must have the game. So I did.
After 18 hours of playing I am on disc 2, and would like to tell you my first thoughts.
I do like the game, the pacing at the start is slow, but that is to be expected. The first cutscene is amazing, the graphics and the fact that everything seems to setup for a good world. However it takes a while for you to be told what is actually going on, and it isn't till the end of disc one, start of disc two, that everything starts to pave a path for you to follow.
The dialogue is quite good, the best VA being Jansen, his dialogue comes naturally, and I understand this is because of much ad-libbing and such. Kaim, the main character, is a Squall type character, so he doesn't really speak that much, and has the broody hero thing going on.
My biggest love is the boss battles, because I know no matter how much I train up, they will always have an advantage over you, and you must strategise to stop that advantage. The first boss so far has been the hardest, with it taking me at least five tries to realise what I was doing wrong and then...it was done.
So far it has been fun, and with only 18 hours clocked, and the storyline still having a long way to go, I know I won't be finished very soon.

And I know what you mean, I am up to The Old Sorceresses House, and so far after the first two bosses I am sailing past the others.
