How good can Uncharted 2 really be? Too much hype...

I was just curious to know about Uncharted 2 for the PS3. I see that it won game of the year at the 2009 VGA award show and everywhere on this site people are praising it. So my question is... how good can it really be?

The reasonI ask is because I please the first Uncharted game and I was not impressed. Basically, my opinion is that it was exactly like Tomb Raider only they traded in a firm buttocks and large breasts for... well... a man. The puzzles were the same in both games, the graphics were only better because of the PS3 Blu-ray system, otherwise I'm sure there would be no comparison there either. The gameplay design was very similar too in that you can switch weapons from handguns to something more powerful on the fly. Aiming was the same and the jumping around was identical as well. Everyone remember climbing on walls for hours? Or jumping from pillar to piller? Pressing buttons to open doors? Sounds like every other Tomb Raider game I ever played (And I played them all) and this is what it was like playing the first Uncharted game.

Maybe I need to play this new version, but I can not really see why all those people who thought Tomb Raider was washed up and old can really be excited over the same game with a different lead character?

Well, I guess it's coming early...*Please Read*

I bought all the games I wanted this year so my Best of 2009 blogs will be in the very beginning of January. I'm looking at January 4th to start it. It will be a series of blogs much like my Top 10 countdown with like 2 or 3 categories.

My categories are (sorry for them being somewhat out of order:

  • Best Overall Game of the Year
  • Best Multiplatform Game of the Year
  • Best Console Game
  • Best Handheld Game
  • Graphics
  • Soundtrack
  • Role Playing
  • First Person Shooter
  • Third Person Shooter
  • Action
  • Action/Adventure
  • Racing
  • Fighter
  • Platformer
  • Puzzle
  • Remake
  • Voice Acting
  • Multiplayer
  • Best New Original Game
  • Downloadable Game
  • Sleeper Hit
  • Worst Game of the Year
  • Most Disappointing
  • Biggest Surprise
  • Most Promising New Franchise
  • Best Cast
  • Best New Sidekick
  • Best Supporting Character
  • Best Hero
  • Best Villian
  • Best New Character
  • Best Developer

That's all of the categories I have filled out so far, might add a few more interesting ones, but other than that, there's the list. And the top 3 runner-ups at most will be listed for each category as well.

When applicable, most categories are going to have a console game winner and a handheld game winner. Yes, I'm segregating console games and portable games. I don't think it's fair to match them up since consoles clearly have an unfair advantage against portable games.

Also I want to point out that the games nominated (for best and worst) are 2009 released only (obviously) and only games that I have personally bought.

All winners are MY opinion and my opinion alone and are not affected by the public opinion, I also ask that you respect my choices as well, so no "I think X game should have won that" and such.

I will not list the nominees since some are running unopposed so they would be dead giveaways.

Again, the current date for my Best of 2009 is currently slated for January 4, 2010.

Feel free to ask any questions, or even new categories if you want, if they're interesting enough, I'll put them in.

Finally got my Bad Company 2 beta key!

WOOT!

It's about time. Chances are, though, that I can get yet another one from my pre-order, as well

GS AU finally started giving away keys, and managed to nab one up!

So, for all those already playing, see you on the battlefield

Level 56

As i mentioned not long ago, level 55 was an easy one. Starting at Level 44 this year, i have gone up 12 levels but next year will be slower with level 63 and level 64 taking atleast 1 year EACH (expect to be in them in all of 2011 and 2012 respectively).

Finished Assassin's Creed II - 30,000 GamerScore

Despite a very annoying power outage about 2 minutes before the ending, I finally finished Assassin's Creed II last night. The in-game clock put my time in at around 22 hours, and one of the chapter-ending achievements finally pushed my gamerscore over the 30,000 mark. I really liked the first one, but this game is easily one of my favorite of this console generation. It's the first game I've played enough to warrant installing to my 360 hard drive.

I only have two minor complaints. First, a few niggling control issues never really cause too much trouble, except in hectic race-against-the-clock scenarios where Ezio jumps in a completely different direction than the one you intended. I'm also in the vast minority of people who prefer the pacing of the original game. My favorite aspect of Assassin's Creed is the DaVinci Code-esque conspiracy. I wish there would have been more time spent outside of the Animus and more emphasis put on the background information provided in each of the glyphs. (For those who are interested, GameFAQs user IrvineTomoe has posted an excellent analysis of what each glyph means.)

Also, as a little teaser for anyone still working through the narrative, the ending has one of the funniest lines I've heard from a video game in a long time. On the Giant Bombcast, Jeff Gerstmann said something about the ending revealing a huge hint as to where the next Assassin's Creed would take place. If anyone knows what that hint is, please PM me because I must have missed it.

I still have a few minor achievements to nab, but I can't wait for the recently announced DLC packs. In the meantime, I'm working on reviews for the new Scene It? games, so look out for those if you're interested.

Haha, Hey.

Well, it's been awhile. Not sure if any of you actually remember me, but I guess I can try to get on more often. It's just a shame...It seems as if most of my old favorite Unions are either dead or close to it. So yeah, I'll see what's been goin' down.

Demos

I haven't tried the most recent Xbox 360 demos but here is a list of demos I just played:

Batman: Arkham Asylum. This demo didn't feel like a demo at all. I was highly addicted to the game already. Just swooping down and face kicking enemies. Too bad I got shot up during and died during that amazing scene. I'm not sure how long the demo is, but this is how demos should be. A good length with all regular features the original game starts off with.

Forza Motorsport 3: OMG, How I love this racing game. I never played a Forza game before, but this customizing and physics of the car takes the cake. Though I think the demo had a couple of races before you have to ultimately buy the game, it had some nice runs. I love how they assist you while driving. Though I didn't even know they fully assist you, such as they will slow down or speed up your car according to the arrows on the ground. The arrows has three colors- red, to slow; yellow to prepare for slowing; and green, to speed up. The scenery was gorgeous.

NFS: Shift: This is another racing game I have to have to top my 2009 list. This game also assists you in with the color speed meter on the ground. With this I was able to win my first race. But I'm already an experienced driver and know how to shift and glide and all that. This game is different from FM3 because it focuses more on the speed of the races. I only played NFS in the arcade so I couldn't compare to previous NFS games.

In other news: I took the test for the TSA Airport Screener. I passed it and now awaiting for a confirmation of background check and drug test appointment. Reps said it will take like 5 weeks (4 more weeks from now) for full background check that includes national and international reports. Good Grief. Hopefully I am well qualified enough for this job. *crosses fingers*

In more news: The Wicked Gaming Community is getting more users at the forum. This is awesome. But we still need some more exposure, so if you have Facebook, please become our fan. If you have twitter, please add our Twitter. If you know others who are into social networking and posting in forums, please mention Wicked Gaming Community. We just talk about games and then cool stuff like anime, music, movies, etc. Oh and if you like toolbars, please download our toolbar because it is very useful. I just updated it recently also.

Well, so long Final Fantasy XII, hello Digital Devil Saga.

I really tried to fall in love with Final Fantasy XII, I really did. I put in 40 hours, but enough is enough. It's just not doing it for me. And I got a whole boat load of other RPGs that are waiting in line!

So here's Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga. I'm only about an hour or two in, but the game is already more interesting and more has happened in these two hours than the whole 40 hours I've put into Final Fantasy XII.

You win this round Atlus.

OMG Borderlands is totally awesome

I love this game, at first I thought it was going to be another great shooter. But I was wrong. It was an awesome and amazing game. It is so good that I'm addicted to it. I reallyy glad that I bought it. Now I found out that they are releasing a DLC for this I'm even more happy. I play about 12 hours on this game every single day. To Gearbox and 2K thanks for this cool addictive game. I also bought Dragon Age Origins, Tekken 6, Forza 3, Call of Duty: MW2, Brutal Legends, Assassins Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. I still haven't play these game. Need to finish Borderlands first. Lol wish me luck.

Modern Warfare 2 booklet

This is just ridiculus, they sell over 4 million copies and to save money they give you a smallass booklet that is like 6 pages and isnt even in color. Not that I ever neededthe booklet or would use it, but withall the preorders you think they could have given out a decent booklet with the standard edition of the game. In the end the book was pitiful

Chaos Uses Phoenix Down on Blog!

Wow, just wow. It's been WAY too long since I last posted up a blog. It's mainly my fault for not checking my page out, though I've been on GS posting in the unions mostly. Where to start off...well, those sad times I endured the beginning of the year are no more because I have money in my pocket aka a job. Nothing else special has really happened over the past months, so this blog must suck. XD Gaming-wise, I've been on a good streak with playing some pretty awesome games. The most recent being Demon Soul's which I got from a great friend of mine and Borderlands.

Demon's Souls - Great RPG, especially since it's from Atlus. A bit on the difficult side, but it wouldn't be very fun if it wasn't if you ask me. Loving everything about it from the gameplay to the graphics. Quick thing though, if you're new to the game and see dragons in the beginning of the game, do not walk towards them. XD

Borderlands - What can I say about this without instantly talking about the the online co-op? Well, it's a fun RPS or Role Playing Shooter like the box says. It's safe to say this could be a great equivalence to Fallout 3, if not better. My favorite class has to be the Siren, so far

"Look at her, trying to play that innocent female status, we all know what's she's capable of."

Next I'll mention the co-op. Just awesome! It kicks the single player mode in the balls that's for sure. Played it earlier with my friends Ron, Max, and Andy. We had a hell of a time going through missions and though I didn't have a bluetooth, I still blended in with the rest of the guys. XD We should play definitely play online games more often.

Hmm, I'll cut this short by saying if anyone who usually read my banners and was wondering where I was, I'm all right and I may start posting more blogs. If you wanna find me be sure to check out the RPG Temple Union. Great place for anyone to join.

Chaos is out and I'll see you guys next time.

Happy Halloween! .. Oh no it's raining.

Looks like another soggy Halloween. Poor kids are gonna have a horrible time Trick'R'Treating in this. I think there are 3 days of the year it should be forbidden to rain: Halloween, Christmas, and Canada Day.
*Also the Marijuana March for those inbibed.

People wearing pine tree costumes.

It's the worst when you're a kid; one time I dressed up as a robot or something and all the cardboard fell apart. It's just not as festive with peoples' decorations keeling over, pumpkins going unlit, and only half as many candy-hunters running through puddles toting umbrellas and galoshes.

Zombie Fisherman from

Even a scary dark coat looks silly when it's made of rubber.

Not to mention poor pubescent Pete; he wanted to take his highschool sweetie to the cemetary for some hot grave action and now she's got a perfect excuse not to go: "I don't want to lie on the wet grass." ***k-blocked!

Avril Lavigne reading about the birds and the bees.

FYI, this video is hilarious. Avril Lavigne teaches safe sex 70s $tyle.

I bet the Exorcist Demons and the Michael Myers of the world take one look outside and say "Gee, it's just not as scary in a yellow raincoat, I guess I'll take this year off." OH: Maybe that's why "Halloween 2" came out in August!

Michael Myers from

Speaking of which, if Jason Voorhes only attacks on Friday October the 13th, why the heck are there so many kids at summer camp in the middle of October?

I guess the only Halloweeners undetered by the morbid weather are Linus and Sally, eagerly awaiting their glorious gourdly deity in all his imaginary splendor.

Linus, Charlie Brown, and Snoopy meet The Great Pumpkin.

Oh, and on a show-that-will-not-be named they had the freakiest Obama mask; It haunts my dreams now. Who would want to dress up as a political leader for Halloween?

Scary Barack Obama mask.

AHHH!! Grinning glossy-eyed madness! Take it away, take it away!

Anyways, Happy Halloween!

Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves is going to destroy the competition

After watching the SONY E3 showcase and reading many previews, I think it is very clear to see that Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves could be another one of those 'all time classics that'll be talked about in still years to come'. I'm sure most of you would agree. I don't think anyone, who has the fortune to own the gaming-heaven that is the PS3, will not buy this game. Especially when the reviews come out (the main source of any game getting its sales). It looks like Naughty Dog have released another classic gaming-experience.
So how many people are going to try and get the platinum trophy?

I had just recently broken up with my girlfriend after two years of being together and left this life behind. Know that I have all this time again, I came back her to my routes and decided it was time torevisitthe gamespot life once again. Lets start with an update on how I have been. I got a bunch of new games that Irarelyplay anymore and mygrammarhas gotten better Lol! My writing has improvedincrediblyand I am planning to publish the previous story I wrote here into a trilogy called The Golden Trust. I want to keep thatunder-rapsuntil it gets out to the public so that way no one steals my ideas, so sorry about the tease.
