By that I mean ... moving to Australia.

It's becoming more and more common ... Just a few days ago a work mate of mine moved to Sydney. Cooler work place and better money ... But I miss her.

Then 6 months ago my best friend moved to Melbourne ... And she's really bad at keeping in touch so I haven't even heard from her. How hard is it to reply to an email?

And a year ago my brother and step sister moved to Brisbane. And I really miss my brother. But he is coming back for Christmas which is awesome so we'll get to catch up then and spend some time together.

So today I find myself for the first time ever ... tempted by the thought of also, moving to Australia. The only thing holding me back is family here who I'd miss... but I think if I got a really good job offer I'd be convinced to move. I'd never go without my partner of course but I think he'd probably get a better job in Ausie too.

Both of us could be earning a lot more than we are in our current jobs. But I bet that's the case for a lot of people. It's having the courage to take that step, make that change that could get you where you want to be. And as always, you have to take risks. And I think that's what I need to do. Take a risk.

Four sleeps until my birthday ... and to say I'm not looking forward to it is an understatement.

The reason I'm dreading my birthday isn't because I'm getting older, I don't mind that. Its because the simple wishes I have, can't come true. The little things I really want this year, I can't have.

There's one thing in particular that means more to me than anything else ... Time with my partner. All I asked for was 1 day with him. Even if it wasn't actually on my birthday. And I couldn't get it.

Some of you are probably saying, big deal, but this means the world to me. I just want to spend 1 day ... with the man I love.

We haven't had a day together in 3 weeks. And its not because we're in different countries or anything ... its because of his job. And the people who make him do whatever they need.

I feel like I playing a game called 'second best' ... And I'm losing. And losing sucks. Especially on your birthday.

I've decided to describe people as grapes today. One person in particular. And I'm sorry to start on a negative but I need to rant. I hope you'll listen... When I got to work this morning I was greeted by a sour grape. The kind of grape that looks sweet on the outside but the second you bite into it its sour and discusting.

The kind of grape that makes you feel sick, even if you haven't eaten it, you've just been close enoigh to get a whiff.. Yes I work with a sour grape. And she is rotten inside. With a fake exterior to make you think she's your friend. But the second she realizes you have something she wants she opens up and reveals her poisonous interior.

I stay clear of the sour grape when it gets agressive... Because I know that if I confront it I will tear it into a thousand little sour pieces. I am 22 years old and mature for my age. I actually have some dignity and I refuse to ingage in childlike sour grape behaviour.

Now that I've finished my rant I can focus on being positive again. And now I'd like to tell you about a grape which I love... This particular grape amazes me. This grape is a male grape and is oh so sweet on the inside. Other people look at this grape and all they see is it's exterior. I have to admit the first year I knew this grape I did the same thing.

But then I gave the grape a chance show me what he was like on the inside. It was very hard for him, he had created a hard and thick skin to hide behind, but he opened up to me. And all I saw was a sweet interior. This grape is the sweetest grape I know.

I can't go a single day without this grape. I love it to bits. It cheers me up when I feel ill and makes me smile when I feel sad. And thinking about this grape has made me feel so much better. Thanks to all the sweet grapes out there who help people like me get through another day of working with or having to put up with sour grapes.

Who wants to join me in a sour grape squashing session? We can squash all the sour grapes, add crap loads of sugar to them, turn them into wine and then drink them.

To some of you, this will probably be old news... But I only just found out about this yesterday. I was browsing YouTube when I came across a video of John Barrowman on a show called Dancing On Ice.

Being in New Zealand I've never seen the show before and I don't know much about it... But it's really fun watching John ice dancing. He has great confidence and takes on the challenge with lots of enthusiasm.

I'm sure most of you know ice skating is a dangerous sport... One of the contestants on this show broke his ankle and had to drop out completely... And in the first week John hurt his back... But like a true captain he fought on. I admire his determination and persistence.
