Xbox 360 went out again...

"I'm as patience and good natured as the next villain, but this is enough to make me blow my stack!" - The wise words of Dr. Ivo Robotnik

Pretty much what I quoted is what I'm feeling right now. I'm really mad to the point where I want to throw my Xbox 360 out the window. The darn thing decided yesterday that it would RROD once again. I was in the middle of playing some Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and it turned off on me. I didn't know what happened. So I turned it on again and all of a sudden I got the three red lights. I was like oh ****! First I got the E74 error and now I get the RROD? What the heck is up with 360s? Did Microsoft make them this way so they could get there money's worth?

It had to come at the worst time as well! Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming out on Tuesday and my 360 doesn't even work right now. Oh well I guess it looks as though I'll have to call Microsoft again and see what they can do. I got a three year warranty on it, but after the E74 error and now the RROD I'm thinking of saving up my money and just getting a PS3 since its cheaper and I've heard it doesn't give you as many problems as the 360 does.

I guess just like with their operating systems its going to take Microsoft a while to figure out how to get things working properly. So in the meantime I guess its back to playing some of my older consoles until I can get the stupid thing fixed or unless Microsoft gives me a bunch of flack then I'm just going to give up on 360 for good. Thanks for listening everyone and see you on the boards!

this is, one of the reasons why I think the PS3 and Wii owns 360.
Too bad Mac, but you can always have some fun with other of your consoles there.
Be sure to advice if you will get the PS3

Unlucky man, but witha 360 you shouldnt be so surprised with these problems I mean my first 360 actually had a Red ring on the very first freakin day!!...then a few days after it then burned my GTA4 disc at that...fortunatly no issues thus far but its least gotten me prepared for the eventual brake down its gonna get.

For the record, i've had my ps3 a year longer and not a single fault

My 360 is actually pretty good I bought it over summer due to my older one RRODing and the warranty was out. My newer one is an Arcade and surprisingly it doesn't get hot at all unless I play it for like maybe 5 to 6 hours at a time.

Ugh, yeah. This is why I'm stickin' to a Wii, DS (maybe DSi in the near future) and a PS3.

get the ps3 man it owns

Meh, this is why I avoided them. If it's not fixed by now then I can't see MS doing anything about the RROD problem. They're too unreliable. Hope it gets sorted man, but I too will recommend the PS3. Mine's only been bricked once and well, that was my own fault

That pretty much sucks, this seems to happen all the time with 360 owners. This hasnt happen yet to my 360, i hope it doesnt but, you never know.

It happens. My bro's 360 has the RROD. Hope you get it sorted.

Ooh, too bad mac. Good thing l didn't have an Xbox. And buying a PS3 was a really good idea. At least you can play with anyone who has a PS3 now (me including )

I sorry for your 360.Get a PS3.

xbox is just not the machine to tamper with.:p When I play with the xbox it hasn't turned red on me, but everyone else in my family has experinced the red light.

PS3 is much better, but I'd get one of the older ps3's that have backward's compatibility (I have one)

I'm not exactly sure about the wii, the wii doesn't break cause it does not use as much power as an xbox or ps3 but maintains a better market since the seniors, and the young buy it. The wii is also cheap, the online gaming is free. But the wii has no games I'm interested in unless there is SSBB or Legend of Zelda.

Currently I'm playing on my PS3 and I'm enjoying the backward's compatibility, I'm playing devil summoner 2 on it. The PS3 plays devil summoner 2 fine. I've had the PS3 for about 2 years I thinka and I've played it constantly, unlike the wi, and xbox360 I haven't had any probles with it, and even consider the thought that an HD player comes witht he PS3. The PS3 has so much more hardware and software then microsoft and still stands out longer then the xbox. Also the PS3 can upload music, videos, pictures, and you can go on the internet plus some other free stuff plus you can connect your psp to the PS3 and download some major stuff.

But The wii is my second choice to buy i I couldn't afford the PS3 (i I could)

Wow, man. I am gutted for you. Same thing happened to me last year with Gears 2. Hope it is quickly returned to you.

Sorry to hear that.

That is what I hate about consoles now a days. They are all cheap except for Nintendo. Apparently only Nintendo knows how to make consoles that don't break when you touch them. However, the only down side to the PS3 is how much it costs to repair when it does break.

I hope you get your 360 fixed.

Too bad,I had my 360 for about 1 year now,and I never had a problem with mine.Maybe next year I will start getting problems.Plus I may get a PS3 this Christmas?
Posted 11/07/2009 4:21pm
Its why I don't play on my 360 anyway. I'm glad I have a PS3 now.
Posted 11/07/2009 4:50pm
yeah you should just buy an elite instead of dealing with that. i got mine it hasnt given me one problem.
Posted 11/07/2009 6:55pm
Mine's gone out twice its not fun
Posted 11/07/2009 7:33pm
dude that sucks. i have a wii and it's never had any problems. kinda weird.....
Posted 11/07/2009 7:35pm
My friend's 360 just got the E74 error and he is scrambling to get a new one before MW2. I, personally, would never buy a broke box. PS3 has more exclusive games, free online, and doesn't break.

About Me

The name's Jason or you can call me Mac, I'm an old school gamer that was raised in the golden age of gaming with the SNES and Genesis. I'm 22 years old and I'm a college student studying to get my Computer Repair Degree. Games have been a big part of my life and I've always been a fan of the Sonic series when it was good, Mario is still pretty good and a few of my other favorite gaming series are Halo, Gears of War , Resident Evil, Doom, Legend of Zelda , Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, but I usually like most types of games if they catch my interest. As far as TV, well there's not much on that interests me anymore. Of course I also like anime as well and a few of my favorites are Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Dragonball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, and Code Geass as they are the only animes that have caught my interest, but I'll usually watch other animes if they're interesting enough. For video games systems I own some of the older systems like NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 and PS1, but I'm a former Xbox 360 owner since my darn console gave out on me and now I'm going to get a PS3 within the next few weeks. As for music I'm a fan of alternative rock and most rock music and some of my favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Slayer, Crush 40, Bullet For My Valentine, Alice In Chains, AC DC, Queen and Tool. I'm usually on Gamespot a lot so feel free to pm me sometime, but if you decide to track me all that I ask you do in return is comment on my blogs once in a while and I'll do the same for you as well. Some of my hobbies besides gaming and working on computers are hanging out with friends, writing fan fiction, collecting older games for my collection. As for my username at the time I was a mac user and since I liked macs I came up with this username, but don't think of me as a Mac fan boy I like PCs and Macs both equally. It's just a manner of taste. Hope to see everyone on Gamespot!
