I may have jinxed myself

The Pistons are suffering right now. I am still hopeful. I know they can overcome this 19 point deficit. I cannot think the bad, even though I do. I hate when my teams lose.

Not a fan of Miami...their team!

All I seem to talk about is the Detroit Pistons and their turmoils during the playoffs. All I want is for them to get to the finals and win. That is all I want.

You may wonder when this obsession with the Pistons began. It all happened in 2004 when they stunned the Lakers, beating them to a pulp in five. After that, I really began to respect them because they are a team that gets no respect. Right now, they are down 2-1 against the Heat. I really do not like the Miami Heat and I can give you mutiple reasons.

1. Miami - too many rich people

2. Looks like Laker land - these people are ritzy, and all they want is show their wealth at their games; hence, all the gagillionaires in the audience

3. Shaq - I like all his charitable efforts, but I do not like his ego. All basketball players are like that, but other than Rasheed Wallace, who is like that on the Pistons team?

I have a lot of issues with basketball players, and it has to do with their egos. If they just shut up and play the game, then we will all be happy. Shhh!

The Unforgettable Fire U2

Listen to this album. Other than "War," this album is filled with politics and the bands growing infatuation with the United States. They are at their best with "Promenade" and "A Sort of Homecoming." Early U2 at its finest.

Like a Prayer

This album is filled with great songs that makes people cry and dance. What works is her songwriting. Madonna presents herself as a songwriter who wants to literally express herself.

American Life

I really liked this album, and I think it is because I like Madonna as a songwriter. It is this album that I could hear her vulnerability. As a mother, she is concerned for the world that her children will be living in. On the other hand, she is a woman who wants to show the love she has for her husband. "Intervention" should have been a single. That would have gone #1.

Confessions on a Dance Floor

I have to admit...I am a rocker at heart, but I have always had a space devoted to Madonna. I have always been a fan of her as a songwriter, but this album--lyrics included--made me want to get up and dance. This is one album that will make you want to exercise. The best song on this album is "Like it or Not," in which she literally tells all of her critics to take it or leave it, which I can relate to.

By the Way

All of the songs on this album are timeless, and even though it was a difficult time for certain members of the band, they all got together and created an amazing album. It is hard to single out one song from this album because they are all good, but if I had to choose, I would have to say "Warm Tape."
