Humble Crumble

My last few blogs have been very depressing & confusing- I'm so sorry! And I was just about to apologise for them being self absorbing, but I think all my blogs are so, oops!  So thanks for bearing with me.

On a quick semi-downbeat / cheery note- am thrilled that Hammond (Richard Hammond from my beloved Top Gear) is on the mend & a quick nod to all the assumed numbskull petrol heads for donating in excess of £150,000 to Yorkshire Ambulance.

In a bizarre twist, I'm surprised to say I'm not watching much TV! If only I was across the pond, I'd have the hard time of scheduling my life around all the new seasons, sigh...I can wait til January / September 07- wait, DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD? Withdrawal symptons!! Need new TV shows asap....getting weaker...need new episodes before a...study...ethic...kicks...in....

TO BE CONTINUED.....

Little Wonder

After too long stressing about it, I've finally got this essay out of what little hair I have left.

AS usual, I didn't sleep and pulled a stupidly long caffeine fuelled stint of studying- I really wish I didn't do this to myself.

If anyone can tell me how to study progressively and without the hallucinations, sleep deprivation etc etc etc, I would love you forever!

What was worse still was taking a break and checking the net for news, at about 8 or 9am (GMT) I was faced with the news about Steve Irwin. I really thought it was a sick joke or that I was seeing things, I wish I was.

He'll be sadly missed, but I have every faith that Terri, Bindi and eventually Bob will keep Steve's message and passion for nature very much alive.

-I'll quickly add that the reporting of this has been shocking. Every report has been, music, 'X is dead' music; report- had it coming, irony of shark, lovely guy.... What, excuse the pun, a crock! It's only words to reporters, but Steve Irwin was loved by the old and young, and everyone inbetween- a lot of kids got to hear that 'structured & balanced' report before going back to school today...

This has turned into a rant. Sorry.

R.I.P. Steve.

Driven to distraction

I've checked e.online, people mag, glamour, google- entertainment news, atptennis.com and have perused a little known site by the name of tv.com- and what have I found?

NOTHING!

This would be because I'm desperately bored and have checked back to the same sites every 5 minutes in the hope of a long term distraction. Despite being stupidly close deadline- 12hrs to write 2000 more words, I can't help but procrastinate- there's nothing left to do but tear my hair out and focus.

Farewell Mr Agassi, always a pleasure never a chore to watch you play- don't be a stranger now... x

TV - What else could it be!

Okay, so WAT has finally made it to terrestrial in the UK; and as I figured- I have succumbed to the temptation!

I'm only a few eps in of S4 WAT and I can tell its not gonna be great (largely due to the spoilers I so willingly read in the forum ). Anyway, I do have to explain my absence from the WAT forum, firstly let me say that it's largely down to scheduling and the fact the show has taken a dive in terms of quality storylines. And also I think it's time I confess that the show has been replaced by another in my heart...

I'll give you a clue, there's a gritty Boss that is the glue that binds the team, a subdued but sassy blonde, a rookie that has been vying for the approval of the team- especially from, a hot-hot Cubana and last but by no means least, the advice giving, heart slash mom of the team. Couldn't it just be WAT??? Nope!

It is obviously CSI: MIAMI. Not only is it brighter (literally, we love the colour filter), but the heart of the show remains the victims. (Which WAT has severely veered from, where have the Graeme Spaudlings, Chets and Clare de Looney Tunes gone?!)

WAT can come back and hopefully will (24 slumped in my opinion in S.3, and my how I wanted to off Kim in S.2- I'm sure theres a libel case somewhere if I go into detail...so I won't!). The greatest thing going for WAT is its characters are still as strong, individually and in their team dynamic- so step it up guys (writers etc.) and let's get this show back on the road! Even Agent Delgado isn't as annoying as I'd anticipated, but she could be used in a better way, COUGH perhaps in the way that Boa Vista is in CSI: Miami, COUGH, ahem! Too late for that though.

Enough WAT whining!

Kudos to Mr Joel Surnow & a spangly and irrepressible Mr Kiefer Sutherland. Much deserved Emmys for a spectacular season of 24. I am not worthy of Jack Bauer.

Oh- just a quick step back to 'the hot-hot Cubana' / Puerta Rican- New Yorker, Adam Rodriguez- the star of a Lionel Ritchie video- be still my heart! Cute video, a little scary that there are scenes where A.R. could crush Nicole through any sudden movements, well played Adam! (-Another lawsuit averted!)

Okay I've truly lost track of any and everything I had to say- which from the above you can tell is no real loss! Selah!

In life outside of the televisual haze, its all books, essays and Glamour, magazine that is.

Ltrs. x

It's been a while

Wow!
I really haven't graced the pages of tv.com for what seems an eternity. What's worse is I can think of little to say! (I'm just warming up...)

In the realms of TV all i can say is Viva Prison Break! With Shawshank being one of my, if not my favourite movie- I have been completely sucked and left very much on the edge of my worn out armchair. It's an awesome show and addition to my list of ailing shows. (If only I lived in the States and didn't have to wait forever for new seasons to show... Oh that's right, I'd be picking up the pieces of my degree and already vacuous life!)

I digress- one last gush about Prison Break, the cast, characters and plot are too cool for school! i swear whenever he's on screen there's an eery glow around Wentworth Miller... (ethereal 'aaa-aaah!') All of the inmates are awesome, I'm even liking how much I detest and am reviled by T-Bag. (shudders on saying his name, I also imagine if he was a real person I'd turn to stone if I looked directly at him...)

On other shows:
I totally caved in on WAT! I've read all the episode summaries and am quite disappointed- in myself and the episodes. Obviously I've not actually seen any episodes so I'm not at liberty to comment, but to comment on prior seasons I'd have to say the show peaked in season 2 and now they've switched from *duracell batteries to I don't know- hamster-running-in-a-wheel-kinetic-energy-power?

I've yet to see any of S.5 24 but loved the trailer and have since spent my time running with fingers in my ears screaming #la-la-la-laaaa# from any spoilers, trailers, posters (though I sometimes peak) etc.

The 2nd season of desperate Houswives has also been slow, whilst the 2nd season of House is going steady- Hugh Laurie is GOLD!

The 2nd season of CSI:NY is slow, it is suffering from vanessa ferlito's exit- but the cast is (excuse the pun) stellar. I will make one comment, did the NY CSI find it in their budget to hire personal stylists for each CSI!? haven't their clothes gotten tighter and spanglier? Oh I say!

Right I've prattled on long enough about ooh say nothing and everything- which explains why I made myself go cold turkey, bad idea to have a relapse right before exam season, doy...

In the real world outside of the radiating warmth of televisual splender it is FREEZING! WHERE IS SPRING? AND WHY IS THERE ALREADY A HOSEPIPE BAN IN PLACE FOR THE SUMMER!!!? 'Us Brits we're just ker-azy!'
Uni is chuggin along, (I can't wait to leave)- did I mention it's cold?
Speaking of which- (the cold and Uni) I best get back to Jane Eyre amongst several other texts I've broguht home to 'read' 'analyse' 'absorb' and 'be inspired by'... ahem. Btw, imagine my delight at researching a suggested paper title and coming across Wentworth Miller's Thesis! the idea of doubling and something else (I study so hard i forget what it is!) in Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea- FUN, as I got to simultaneously check google images!

As you can see the cosmos has realigned itself, with Agent Danny Taylor unavailable on British shores I've found a striking candidate to keep his seat warm.

Later!
x
