lets be all controversial here in a world which seems to have taken coldplay to heart. This album is good but your can't tell me its their best yet? Personally until album 4 that will always be parachutes their take notice debut. Don't get me wrong their are tracks here which i really rate: single speed of sound is typical coldplay (althought it didnt beat the crazy frog in england), talk is haunting and different and you cant help but get the lighter out for new single fix you, Square one is also a good opener (always best to start at square one i think). However i could live without tracks what if and swallowed by the sea. What can i say, buy this album yes, but dont expect it to blow their last two efforts from your mind

If you want something to immediately grab your attention then this is it. The underappreciated 22-20s quietly release this amazing debut which blows more mainstream efforts out of the water. From its brillaint opening track devil in me to the energetic 22days this album fails to disappoint music lovers. If you want a new band to rave about, let it be the 22-20s. I look forward to a second album after this fantastic debut (their good live to!)

I'm sorry but as a lifelong oasis fan i am seriously sick of them being slated after every new release of theirs. okay im not trying to say all their material has been up to this usual Oasis standard set by some critics after early success by definitely maybe but theirs no need to be prejudice against every new release. We really cant expect a definitely maybe mark 2 everytime a new album is released. This album is good, lets set that straight. Single Lyla has already been a number one and other tracks like muckyfingers, the importance of being idle and keep the dream alive make deserve a mention. Opening track turn up the sun is a definite winner in my books although not my favourtie track, this title has to go to the previously mentioned mucky fingers. Just incase ive confused a lot of you im not trying to tell you this album is the best ever oasis album in the world that you will ever hear, im just trying to say its good and worth a listen before you decide to go along with all the negative critic views decide for yourself! Long live Oasis

As an Oasis fan pretty much right from the beginning i waited with anticipation for this albums release after the triumphant success of their debut definitely maybe and their second album (whats the story) morning glory. However i found that this album just disappointed. dont get me wrong i wasnt expecting a definitely maybe mark two, just something which embodeied its creative material and shook up the music industry as oasis and britpop seemed to have done . Few tracks really stand out although mentions have to go to the albums better tracks D'you know what i mean, stand by me and all around the world. What can i say? i'm not part of the crowd who just seem to put a downer on oasis and can highly recommend newer material but this album just left me feeling cold. The tracks are long and the reprisal at the end of all around the world seems to be an unecessary time waster. Don't get me wrong im not calling this album a complete failure on all levels its by no means the worse album ive heard, but it is definitely not the best. As the title of my review suggests, it just has to sit in the middle.

Its about time really we had a band who could give us something a little different then the normal guitar and indie sounds. The dead 60s combine post punk and more than a little ska in this album which should by rights do well! If its catchy tracks your after ... look no further than riot radio (on the futures burning compilation disc as well) and the brilliant your not the law! For deeper lyrics check out Last resort and perhaps we get low. Finally, just for the title 'just another love song' has to get a mention.
So buy this album to add something a little different to your collection which won't damage you reputation. can't wait for the next album now ...

Music is what i love and its as simple as that really. I live in south england (where it always rains but not a lot seems to happen) and love discovering new bands. My band favourites are: The Killers, Oasis, Blur, REM, Radiohead, The Whitestripes, The Futureheads, Maximo Park, Bloc Party, Scissor Sisters, The Thrills, Embrace, The Libertines, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Foo Fighters, The Coral, Greenday, 22-20s, Feeder, Franz Ferdinand, Jet, Kaiser Cheifs, Kasabian, Pulp, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Hives, The Music, The Shins, The Strokes, The Zutons ....... hmm and i think thats it quite a list!
