Mixed Martial Arts Mayhem: the UFC title scene heats up

I've been paying really close attention to MMA news, rumors and all that drama, through the email newsletter from MMAConvert.com alot of news right now. The biggest stories are Fedor Emelinenko's fight with Bret Rogers live on network ( CBS ) prime time cable in Nov.

The same network that used to show Elite XC (with Kimbo Slice ). I thin kit will be an interesting fight but I'm not sure what to predict, but anyway how's that for news?

The other big story is with
Anderson Silva, it's a big debocle, he wants to fight Frank Mir, but Danna White won't let him. I'm strongly against the idea too. Then there's Dan Henderson and Nate Marquardt who both think they deserve a shot at his title, but Henderson doesn't wanna fight Marq., and Silva doesn't wanna fight Hendo again. Wow ,and if that wasn't enough, Rashad Evans has called out Silva saying he wants to fight him and is confident he can win. Thats a pretty big statement.

Well Silva is currently undergoing elbow surgery so he wont be fighting again for quite some time so things are really shaping up, but in the mean time who is Rashad going to face, now that
Quinton Rampage Jackson has essentialy given up on being a fighter, at least in the UFC.

This was according to Mr. Jackson's blog on his website, as of yesterday He was very upset about Dana White talking smack behind his back about him taking time off to Co-star in the A-team movie. What a shame he's throwin in the hat, but I think he'll do ok...for a while. Then he'll come crawlin back to the MMA world.

Oh and now based on
Vitor Belfort's win over Rich Franklin at UFC 103, Dana wants Vitor to fight Anderson Silva. imagine that. win 1 match and your setup for a title shot against one of the most dominant champions the sport has ever seen, and possible the best fighter on the planet right now.

Well I missed UFC 103 but I heard it was pretty exciting. I think its dissapointing to see
Mirco Cro Cop get beat so badly. He really is wearing down these days. The Pride fighters just aren't holding up well in the UFC, including Wanderlei Silva, who just recently had facial reconstructive surgery to improve his sleeping. Here's hoping he will be back in tip top form.

Anyway I'm planning on seeing UFC 104
Rua v Machida ( I hope Machida wins. )
and watching new episodes of TUF 10 every Wed.

I think its going to be a very exciting rest of the year for UFC especially when
Lesnar fights Carwin in Dec.
