waooo...guys we 'got a monster here.
Global remark before going into detail : the album is really wild, almost as wild as a "Music for the masses".
*A pain.. : good song 8/10, a bit aggressive, gives the tone for the rest.
*John the revelator : back to the peaks. Rocks well (fast beat) , with those urban electro beats from the late 80s 9/10
*Suffer well : Even when Gahan is the songwriter, it's f... good ! (up beat)
*sinner in me : to me, one of the 2 masterpieces with Darkest Star. Slower pace than the 3 first tracks.
*Precious : easy listening and predictable, but still..very good stuff
*Macrovision : okay, Martin your talent can do (much) better
*I want it all : honest (Still Gahan)
* Nothin's impossible : another real highlight from Gahan.
* Introspectre : musical interlude
* Damaged people: a fine one song and written by mr Gore
* Lilian : another rocket !
* Darkest star : damn' terrific.
(one of the best tracks of the album)
An unexpected fresh UFO !

63 years old and the guy offers us such a deep, such a wonderful creation.
File Line, Jenny Wren, Too much rain, Riding to Vanity Fair, even the simple but beautiful This never Happened before are worth a good Beatles album.
Almost half of the album is made of instant classics. There's no filler. McCartney's sense of melody is here absolutely brilliant, unsurpassed. Plus here an intimate depth, an unusual truth.
Even though I know many will strongly disagree with my excessive enthusisam, that's just my point of view. And What shocks me in turn is this 'rhetorical' ability that many have to kindly despise this album. Because there should be no question it could compare to what had been religiously classified as masterpieces. It should be at the most considered as respectable, but clearly inferior ? It could be accepted as a good effort, but not more !
And Well they say it doesn't beat that album, nor this one...Come on guys, you've got a fabulous songwriter who just made gold here.
To me, there's one comparison that is true : 99,9% of what I've heard this year is just noise compared to that !
