PC games are back on top and a cheap gamer's perspective.

Few months ago people were saying (or it's just a fragment of my imagination) that PC games was dying. Well it was going a little downhill but now the tides have turned. PC games are rocking it old school setting the standard for modern games. At least that's how I see it. There are some big releases coming out and some great games have already being released.

Bioshock was released (9.0 I hate the new rating system with only .5 and zeros). "But Bioshock is in the 360 too" you might say; but Gears of War is comming to the PC, "But that's not exclusive" you might say, well you might care but I rather be playing an amazing game that's in more platforms than Madden than playing an "exclusive" pretty good game. The Orange Box came out (9.5), it is also on the 360, but does the 360 have Mods? NOOO, is it $10 more expensive then the PC version? YES. Also World in Conflic (9.5) was released, adding to what shall go down in the history of video games (I said it first) as "The RTS Revival of 2006". Which also includes Company of Heros, Supreme Commander and C&C 3.

Also the calendar looks packed with upcoming excitement. Call of Duty 4 will hit Nov 5th, Hellgate London and Tabula Rasa at the end of the month. Crysis is schedule for Nov 16 and the game I'm most exited about Unreal Tournament 3. After playing the Beta Demo I have high hopes for this game. Those are a few of the games that scream "PC is alive".

So why do I care about the awesome batch of great PC games? Because I made a choice about a year ago to build a modest gaming PC rather than upgrade from Xbox 1 to 360. I love consoles but PC has way more appeal and better value. I feel like I'm in a PC vs. Mac ad right now.

So here is my dilemma; I'm cheap, I don't have a job, I like playing video games. The little money I have I try to spend it well. I have bought Half Life 2 for like 20 dollars, Battlefield 2 like a month ago for $10 and DoW: Dark Crusade for $30. Yet I want to buy a game at it's release but I want too make sure it's a good value. I don't know whether I should get The Orange Box or wait to see if Crysis or UT3 will prove to be a better value.
