This is supercool glam rock era Bowie meets Epic Soundtracks type stuff. Baroque pop influence on the piano blended with gritty guitar featuirng rock riffs and atmospheric distortion. sounds real nice on first listen, but grows even stronger. don't be suprised if you find a few of these stuck in your head.

There is a logo on the back of The Handful's Palmistry that reads True Rock. Never was there more truth in advertising. This is straight ahead classic rock with suggestions of southern rock and 1970's hard rock (Free, Deep Purple). This album has 14 original tracks, which is ambitious for a debut album, but these guys pull it off. Each of the 14 tracks is strong in its own way. From the psychedelic-influenced tracks Thorn In The Garden, and Silence Is Golden;to the driving hard rock of Rain (on My Parade), and The Last Turn; to the singer-songwriter tinged Smile, and Writing on the Wall, Palmistry is a great album which is both suprising and familiar.
