Album Review

Dirt
""
"Dirt" by Alice In Chains. The darkest album ever recorded. From "Them Bones" to "Would?" you enter the psychotic worlds of Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell. Three major themes: death, drugs, and depression. This dark but honest rock and roll. Distorted guitars, heavy bass, and Staley's voice equal utter perfection.

Songs....
1) Them Bones. 10/10. Very intense opener thats short and to the point. Excellent.
2) Dam That River. 9/10. Heavy riff
3) Rain When I Die. 11/10. The first minute of this song is just AWESOME.
4) Down In A Hole. 100/10. Genius lyrics, musicianship, everything. Utter perfection.
5) Sickman. 10/10. This song is totally bizarre. Goes from 100MPH verses to a slow chorus and then back again.
6) Rooster. 20/10. A tribute to Cantrells father. The only hint of any optimism on the entire CD.
7) Junkhead. 10/10. Did I mention theres a drug theme here?
8) Dirt. 50/10. The darkest song ever made. Listen to what Staley sings about and you'll know what I mean.
9) Godsmack. 5/10. Okay song but the fact that the band "godsmack" ripped it off is just awful.
10) Iron Gland. -1000/10. WTF was this? Thank god its 40 seconds long.
11) Hate To Feel. 10/10. Very cool song.
12) Angry Chair. 50/10. OUTSTANDING!! Cantrells guitar solo is incredible. Written be Staley also.
13) Would?. 100/10. Best way to finish off the album. Written by Cantrell with outstanding vocals, chorus, and another awesome guitar solo.
