Le Tigre has almost too much flare. Of course, that's impossible. With a peircing voice that hits all the right notes combined with lyrics that are nothing short of revolutionary, Le Tigre knows how to give the people what they want. They are catchy without being repetative, and insightful without losing touch. They also put on an amazing live show that will have you dressing like them for months afterwards.

The Hives never cease to amaze me. They are the perfect combination of incredibly witty lyrics and fast, perefectly timed guitar riffs. They don't so much sing their songs as they do howl them. It's the perfect music for energetic dancers or people who jsut know how to appreciate catchy songs.

If you imagine a folk group, with clever, imaginative lyrics, and odd but fitting musical arrangements you may be starting to figure out Belle and Sebastian. Although they never made mainstream break through, Belle and Sebastian are the type of band that couldn't care less. They are melodic, cunning, and often engaging to a point of obsession. You will fight the temptaion to read every lyric of their songs, but if you do not have the will power to resist you will be delighted. Often connecting and intertwining with other songs, their lyrics prove to be as entertaining as their current line-up.

The Pixies are so much more then most labels can speak. The sweet harmonization along with the haunting lyrics blend with the otherwise rock/punk guitar work to make an amazing statement about music in general. They evolved along with their members to make some of the hardest hitting songs imaginable. Everyone will take something different away from the Pixies, whether it's a new lease on life or jsut a different way to wear your hair. There's something for everybody in any given Pixies album.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs may appear disturbing at first glance, but once given a chance they prove themselves well worth your time. Karen O's voice is more of a growl then a scream, and in this context nothing would work better. She isn't your average female lead singer with the soft voice of an angel. She is a hard-hitting, truth-speaking revolutionary. All of their songs have atleast one line that will be stuck in your head for weeks. Along with finding yourself singing outloud, you will also find yourself wishing you had as much edge as they prove to withhold.
