What's wrong with the world?

Over the past few days (well, today and yesterday) I've seen a couple things online that I just can't believe.

1. This story proves just how disrespectful and ignorant the liberal media in our country truly is. If the parents of the dead (not just dead - injured and bloody) Marine respectfully ask you not to publish the photos that show their son as he's dying, then you don't publish the photos no matter how much of an impact you believe they'll have.

2. This video illustrates just what's wrong with this presidency. "I pledge to be a servant to our president, Barak Obama." What is that!? As our president, he's supposed to be a servant to the people. It doesn't work the other way around. We are not supposed to serve him. Very few things are able to shock me anymore, but this is definitely one of them.

3. Vick has been allowed back into the NFL completely about a month or so earlier than he was supposed to. Just further proof that the rich and famous get off easy.

I do take some pleasure in the fact that the media (at least, Yahoo news stories) are starting to use less and less attractive pictures of Obama in their publications. Once the president starts making controversial decisions, their attractiveness to the general public starts to drop like a rock.

Wow! You really hate Obama huh? Sounds like sour grapes on yur behalf to me. You found fault in 5 seconds of the video which was 4 minutes long cus of something you interpreted as demonstrative to the whole message of the video. The vid was about making the world a better place in whatever small way you can, not serving the president from a standpoint of re-writing the constitution. The vid was nice, incredibly long winded... but still nice. Later .

I give you much credit for having the courage and strength to voice your discontent with the president...or chairman as I call him. I agree with you totally, we pledge to our flag and our nation, not a man which is foolish. As for the young Marine, that saddened me, as a former serviceman it hurts to see one of my own die. Though his parents wishes are there for him since he can no longer speak-it sickens me to know there are those who exploit pain to further a point. Much respect to you for your posting, and not just because I agree with you-but because you have the strength to voice an unpopular opinion.

I totally agree with you. The Socialist in Chief is trying to create a cult of personality like his hero Stalin. He employs guys like Green Czar Van Jones who sais " I went into prison a black nationalist and came out a radical communist." He has a whole slew of 1960s radicals & terrorists as advisors. It's sickening how some ppl ^^^^ have been duped by this Chicago thug. At least his popularity is down to 42% & dropping.

That's horrible. That must be torture 4 the kids parents. About the Obama thing doesn't it clearly state somewhere that he serves us? That's not right.
The Vick thing reminds me of Paris Hilton. She was supposed to be in jail for a week or so but she was only in there 3 days. before getting jailed again.

@MarWash: You obviously didn't watch the entire video. Watch the whole thing up to the very end, and pay special attention to the end, where Ashton and Demi say "I pledge to be a servant." Then tell me it's not trying to make us into mindless servants.

@Helostwin: Every time I see an approval rating headline, a little piece of my hope in humanity is restored. Hah..

I can't believe anyone would want to publish a picture of a dying marine. That's terrible.

As for that video, it's more about helping the President and the country. Sure it said "I pledge to be a servant of our president," but that's not what the message is here. The message is that we need to step up to help our country. Obama can't do everything he's doing by himself. But as for actual symbolism used in that video, it's not exactly the best used, but it wasn't asking us to forget our constitutional rights. It was about asking us to be better people and help make change.

didnt they change the write the letters thing

Yea that is pretty messed up to publish the photo after the parents explicitly stated that they did not want the photo published.

I do think if the parents of a fallen soldier agrees to publish a graphic photo like this it is ok. People need to see the reality of war and realize that the stats on the dead they hear on the news actually means real Americans are dying.

I so agree with you! Seeing that story about the Marine. Its so sad. what is wrong with people now a days? Its so bad how blind people are to this presidency. And then we have this liberal media. Do they really think EVERYONE is going believe all the crap they have to say?! I think not! I'm really praying things will get better...

The Marine thing...half the time the families get no say in what happens. And what those people wanted to do, in the words of my mom was 'gross disrespect".

There's lots of things wrong with the world! My opinion on those three subjects: 1. Releasing the photo of the dying marine was wrong. But, if the family had not objected, would it have been okay? The best way to stop this from happening, is to stop the needless loss of our troops. As the deaths mount, what do we gain? And what would make it worth it? 2. That video was a bunch of hollywood folks expressing their opinions. The end was over the top, but most of the sentiments I could agree with. I don't think Obama is a monster, but I don't worship him. 3. Vick did his time. I would never hire him. And no NFL team would, unless they thought he would help them win some games. And some teams would still not hire him, on principle. That's capitalism. Doesn't make it right. Right and wrong has gotten lost in the equation over time.

There are too many problems with the world. The media is out for a story with no consideration to the family who I am sure have no desire to witness the death of their son again and again in images. The people have no obligation to serve the President. It is his honor and obligation to serve the people. The rich get off on chump time compared to the severity of the time simply because they can afford 500 per hour lawyers who get them off on technicalities and bull claims.
