Well, it's official. Barack Obama won 337 to 163 electoral votes so here's the first African American to run our country. I personally wanted McCain to win, but oh well. To those who wanted Obama, you're so fortunate.
Also, today is my friend Christian's 13th birthday! He wanted Obama to win and he got what he wanted for today.

Hi! If many of you noticed, I haven't been on Tv.com from September 30 until yesterday. But I'm back now! As I told you before, I supported Blackout 2008 on September 30, which is one reason I wasn't here, but the other reason was that I was on vacation. From September 30 until October 8, I was on a 2-in-1 vacation in Puerto Rico and Florida. We've never been to Puerto Rico before that and it was the first time I've been to Florida since 2003. Now, If any of you are wondering about October 9 to yesterday, it's because on somedays I forgot to check in on the site, plus I had tons of homework. But I still had really fun on the trip! Here's what I did:
September 30: "Relaxing Day"
Flew to Puerto Rico
Stayed in Embassy Suites Carolina (which was REALLY nice)
Isla Verde Beach
We finally flew to Puerto Rico aboard Jetblue Airlines Flight 711. Everywhere in Puerto Rico, the signs were in Spanish! Lucky I'm in Spanish. I was able to translate a few. Our hotel was really nice and the beaches were MUCH better than the ones here in New York. Also, temperatures went up to 92 degrees! Not bad for October.
October 1:
El Yunque Rainforest
The rainforest was huge! We hiked up over five miles of trails and spotted some tarantulas and snakes. We even had our own "secret trail" we found, but as we were climbing up, it started to pour and our rental car got all soggy.
October 2:
Arecibo Observatory
Camuy Caverns
Ate Dinner in Old San Juan
The Arecibo Observatory is home to the world's largest radio telescope, which was hung by cables on three towers. One of the towers had a snack bar built into it. After we left, we took a whole bunch of windy roads down. Most of the time on the roads in western Puerto Rico, there were just trees. Few signs and few houses. The road was also only one lane, and cars were occasionally coming from the other direction! Sometimes it was scary, but at the same time it was fun and interesting, and the view in the mountains was beautiful. At Camuy Caverns, we took a tour of one of the caverns and the giant sinkholes. Most of the caverns deep underground are closed off, due to a man dying recently because of a falling stalagtite, hitting him in the head and caving up part of the caverns. But it was still cool. Old San Juan also had really good restaurants and shops.
October 3: "Last Full Day in Puerto Rico"
Walk around Old San Juan
Fort San Felipe Del Morro
Ferry Ride
Bacardi Rum Factory
Other Historic Buildings
My brother hated the fort and walking around, but this was one of my favorite days in Puerto Rico. The Bacardi Rum Factory is huge and the ferry ride around Old San Juan was both cool and really fast. I thought the boat was going to tip over! We were going to go to the Bioluminescent Bay tonight, a place where you swim in this bay full of tiny creatures that glow when something touches the waters surface, but the last tour was too late for us.
October 4: "Relaxing Day #2"
Flew to Orlando
Stayed in Nickelodeon Family Suites
Spent Day at Nick Hotel
We now went to the second part of the trip- Florida, aboard Jetblue Airlines Flight 744. This was the day that my brother and sister were hoping for- staying in the Nick Hotel, and it was pretty cool. The room keys are bracelets so you never lose them, but you're not allowed to take them off until the end of your stay. We spent a lot of time at the Lagoon Pool, while at 4:30 we got slimed at the mass sliming (this, however, isn't real slime). We also checked out the Nick Arcade, the 4-D Theater, and other attractions there. We ate at the Nicktoons Buffet which, to my surprise, had really good food. We saw a show in Studio Nick that had a whole bunch of interactive games (only for four people that are picked during the show). Later that night, we joined Club Slime, had an opportunity to do one of the games, keep a bottle of slime, and have a lot of fun. This still isn't all real slime (except for in the bottle). The real slime is later in the trip.
October 5:
Universal Islands of Adventure
Universal Citywalk
This is one of the two Universal Parks. The Spiderman ride was awesome! The Hulk and Dueling Dragons were also really good coasters, and we saw a really funny show there too. We ate dinner at Margaritaville on the citywalk.
October 6:
Kennedy Space Center
Astronaut Hall of Fame
We were going to see a space shuttle launch on the 8th, but it got delayed to next year. So our shuttle tickets were turned into ordinary space center tickets. We got to see the inside of a real space shuttle in person! We also experienced a space shuttle simulator, observed a real Saturn V rocket, and a whole bunch of other stuff. There was also a museum down the road that had cool hands on exhibits and simulators. Later that day, we saw the show at the hotel again, and I was one of the four people to get picked in the game! The team that I was on won and I got slimed for real this time (this was REAL slime)!
October 7:
Universal Studios
"Make the Best out of the Hotel Night"
This is the other park in the complex. These rides were really good too. My favorites were the indoor roller coaster "Revenge of the Mummy" and "The Simpsons Ride". We also saw the studio that "My Family's Got GUTS" is broadcasted. Later that day, we did pretty much what we did the first day- spent the entire night at the hotel. We ate a small dinner at Subway's where I created the Ryan's Mega Miracle Subsandwich. It's a toasted footlong Meatball Marina with provolone cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers on Italian herbs and cheese bread.
October 8: "Last Day"
Gatorland
Downtown Disney
Disneyquest
Fly Home
Today, we checked out of the Nick Hotel (finally we got to take those itchy bracelets off!) and went to a gator themed zoo called Gatorland. We saw a gator wrestling show, many exhibits, and two guys in a gator jumping show with chickens on their hands. Then we drove to Downtown Disney and ate at the Rainforest Cafe (it was nothing like the real Rainforest earlier in the trip). Then we went to a virtual reality arcade called "Disneyquest" and they have something really cool. There's a roller coaster designer. You get a card, swipe it, and design a coaster on a computer. You then go to a simulator and swipe the card again, where the simulator acts out your coaster in virtual reality. It actually goes upside down! There were also some rides and some other video games. Later that day, sadly, we flew home on Jetblue Airlines Flight 58.
So we had a really fun time! But, now I'm back! Thanks everyone for understanding!
