Ignorance

Ignorance...... How do people do it? You go through life just being yourself, not hurting others, helping when you can, and loving your family and friends, then you get attacked (verbally or otherwise) with someone's stupidity and ignorance.

I can honestly say that I am a nice guy, and I have many friends that will agree with me. I don't feel that I have done anything to anyone that would cause someone to challange my intergrity, values, and beliefs, but yet it happens.

I am not this person's cause of the drama they have in their life. The drama happened from the choices and decisions that they made themselves. No one else had anything to do with it. This person is unwilling to take blame for those decisions they made in life, but what do they do? They blame, not only me, but other people as well as to why things didn't turn out the way they wanted. Where does this get them? Does it make them feel like a better person? If it does, then hell, blame me. I have strong shoulders and know that I am not affected by ignorance, so have at it. At least I can say that I sleep fine at night.

Basically, I wish the world didn't have ignorace. As sad as it is, I pity those people who are ignorant. I for one, will never let it happen to me, and if I do, please, someone slap me back to reality!

Anyway, just needed to vent!

Sadly, ignorance is inescapable... it's everywhere. Alongside with prejudice, and judgmental-ness (is that a word?), and all those other nasty things that are bred from generation to generation.

I once read a book called "The Fish Book", and the message in it that changed my outlook was that you can't change how people around you act, or the circumstances around you that others create; all you can control is how you respond. I try to keep this in mind everytime a customer abuses me, simply because they are having a bad day.

Anyway... hope you are feeling better. I loves ya just how u is, Poisoneyes!

*hugs*

La has put her finger right on it. You cannot change other people by making them do what you want, only by influencing them by your own actions (note that I said "change" other people - different from making them "do" things). How many people in the world have caused REAL change by their OWN actions rather than by imposing their values/beliefs/actions on someone else?

Regrettably some people seem to believe that real change is brought about by force - force of will, force of personality or even force of arms.
Often it is those same people that blame everyone and anyone for things not being they way that they personally wish them to be.

Just be true to yourself and let the junk that other people throw your way just slide off. If you can go to bed at night (or in your case, early in the morning sometimes ) and truthfully review your day and feel that you did the best that you could given the circumstances and the information that you had at your command at that moment in time (sometimes known as "doing the right thing"), regardless of the final outcome, then you can feel good about yourself regardless of what others may be throwing at you.

Hope this isn't "preachy". Rest easy my friend.
