GUN 2

In Tony Hawk's Proving Ground there is a poster of "GUN 2, Magruder's Ghost".

No one is sure whether it is going to come out or not yet.

I truly hope it comes out as Gun one was excellent.

I will use this blog to write in any updates when i hear more news on this subject.

Seeing as i am not level three yet i can only write reviews here and there are no FULL reviews for spiderman 3 so...................

SPIDERMAN 3 PSP

This game has been taken straight from the ps3 to the psp system. And i gotta say, although it's missing quite a few bits and pieces, the result is still very good!

The graphics are said to be "dreadful". Not true! Though, there is a few downsides with the graphics such as: fire which looks thin and harmless. (duke nukem for ps1 had better fire) Another is the parked cars. Although they are 3-D they are extremely bland and haven't got the slightest bit of detail on them. They are probably the biggest downsides. Other than them, the game has a fair share of good amounts of detail and graphics such as, Spiderman (your character) is practically a living, breathing person! Light and sun reflect and shine his outfit, his shadows are very realistic and mimic him perfectly, every finger on his hand moves to its own accord! Unfortunately the civilians/pedestrians and even enemies do not reflect the same detail and brilliant structure as spidey but hell it really doesn't matter because on most games they don't even bother putting detail into the main character so i wouldn't worry too much about that! The cutscenes are quite good but probably only because they have been taken from the PS3 version of the game. A downside of the vehicles is definately that all the moving ones are either just taxis or lorries! It may not sound so bad but it does take away some of the realism and enjoyment of this game. At first glance the windows of each building are basically just plain and blank. This was expected seeing as it is a large game but while i was swinging i noticed that when the sun is shining on them/ when you look at them from a different angle they shine like real life! This brought some realism back into the game!

Graphics: 8/10

A brilliant feature is the ability to change the difficulty of the game whenever wherever you like. This helps greatly when you are bored/annoyed because either the enemies are to hard to fight or you are finding the game too easy. Something which makes this game completely different to any other spiderman game is the ability to change from regular blue/red spiderman to black spiderman with just the press of a button! It is waaay cooler, while wearing the black spidey outfit cause you are much more agile and definately more stronger and .....its cool and new! What dissappointed me hugely is that you lose a feature which you had in Spiderman 2 in household(non portable) consoles; being able to enter shops and bars to buy powerups. I found it devastating because small little things like that just adds more feel to the game. But if you had spiderman 2 on lets say: ps2 and found it frustrating that you had to run wildly through NYC to find just one shop to get a powerup, you will be happy to know that on Spiderman3 on psp you can simply buy the powerups in the main menu! Web slinging a bit tiring for you? Get a lift from the taxi and relax for a while! By walking up to a taxi and pressing the triangle button(unless you changed the control assignment) spiderman will crawl ontop of it and sit on it while it drives you through new york. Speaking of which, in case you didn't already know, unlike spiderman 2 on psp, you can finally roam the streets of new york....and believe me, it is BIIIIG!! HUUUUGGEE!!

New features: 9/10

The story of this game tries not to stray too far from the original storyline of the film...well it failed. It is packed with missions which basically drags you from the actualy story. Is this a bad thing? Well no. The movie was said to be "packed with action and excitement but with a weak storyline". Well this game may be the answer to your prayers...unless you have something against beating up H bombers and evil giant lizards. Lots of action, quite a lot of excitement but you would feel quite stupid jumping up and down and screaming on a train while playing your psp. And if these extra story missions aren't good enough, like the GTA series you can do these other kind of tasks like where you go find the criminal gangs and beat the sh*t out of them. I haven't completed the story yet but so far i have got a good impression and high hopes for it!

Story: 7/10

The music sounds quite adventurous and interesting....but it doesn't scream out the words: SPIDEY SPIDEY in your head.It really doesn't strike me as spiderman music. And it isn't playing as often as you would expect. Also, unfortunately once in a while the music/sound jumps or repeats which can get a bit annoying especially when someone is talking to you. The voice acting is pretty good though.

Sound: 6/10

What you must be dying to hear about is the gameplay. Well you may be happy to hear that the gameplay is extremely enjoyable and very addictive! Most of the time you are web swinging around the surprisingly large city (yes, it is FREE ROAM!), you can go beat up bad guys, do missions, collect items, take photos, explore, climb, fire webs, hitch rides, turn into black spidey whenever you like (when you have unlocked it...after about 4-5 missions or so), run around aimlessly, walk, test the controls (as you do...), randomly shove people and whatever you like!

Gameplay: 9/10

On the whole the game is worth the buy. I would reccomend it to anyone really! Mostly the people who like to free roam or got bored of the other spiderman games! Actually, the only people i wouldn't reccomend it to is people who have this game already BUT on a next gen console, only because theres some things in this game which they couldn't fit in from the ps3/xbox360 version and so it may cause dissappointment. If you had/have spiderman 2 on psp (like me) and enjoy/ed it, This is definately the game for you! If you had/have it and didn't/dont enjoy it, give this game a try! You probably wont be dissappointed!

Extra Information you may want to know:

How much is this game? The price now is not too expensive for a psp game. It is about £15 pre owned and i got it for £20 new. Worth every penny!

How good is this compared to other psp games you have played? Possibly the best psp game i've got! (and i've got: gta lcs, gta vcs, thug2remix, project 8, sid meiers pirates, battlefront 2, gangs of london, star wars trilogy 2, james bond from russia with love, driver 76, harry potter goblet of fire, pursuit force, spiderman 2 and stuff like that all on PSP...that's how good it is!!!)

Are the controls difficult and how long do they take to adjust to? The controls are fine, you should have no problem with them after playing the game for about 20 minutes. And if you do have troubles, press start and you can reassign each button to an action.

Is there a map to help you find your way around? Yes there is a 3-d world map (well NYC map)so you can find your way around easier and you can add markers on the map. Unfortunately its on the select menu so you cannot just glance at a minimap on the side of the screen. But it has markers on the screen which tells you which direction you should be heading (to find a mission or person or something) and how far away it is.

Is this game the same as the PS2 version? Yes, it's the same on every console but there are a couple of minor differences graphicswise and occasionally missionwise.

I am concerned, my 9 year old son plays this game and its very violent. Should i stop him playing it? The age rating is 12+ so he technically shouldn't be playing it anyway but it's spiderman; he stops the bad guys and helps the inoccent out of trouble and danger. If i was you, the only thing i would be worried about is him dressing up in a spiderman suit and trying to web swing out of his window. (joking) But if his behaviour changes maybe you should trade in the game for another one.

I was greatly dissappointed to find out that Canis canem edit has not been made into a psp umd!

As most of you know, Canis canem edit is a great action ps2 Rockstargameabout a boy in a schoolof bullys.

It isan amazingly good game which you can never get bored of!!! I would do anything to have it on psp!!!

Is there anyway whatsoeverto persuade Rockstar Games to make it? maybe...

Is there any way whatsoever to download it onto apsp memory stick? Perhaps...
