Change is Coming

Growing up as a child my parents always told me that the sky was the limit and I could do or be anything as long as I put my mind to it. Funny thing is that after 28 years it wasn't until last night that I realized that anything is possible.

Proud to be an American

I woke up extra early today to vote. The booths didn't open until 7am and I managed to get there at 6:20 to get in line and get out early so I could make it to work by 8 am. I was suprised to see how long the line was. I guess this is where my topic title comes in. It was impressive how many people where out there to vote and make a difference. This is my 3rd time voting in a presidental election and I've never seen a turn out like this. My son and I stood in line for an hour and a half. I let him fill out the ballot for me and he was proud to say that he voted!!!!

I have my fingers crossed and I can't wait until we get the news on who the next president will be!!!!

3 Big Demos....and 1 not so Big

I've had a great weekend playing games and making progress with them. I finally beat Saints Row 2 earlier and I love it more than the original one. I'm going to finish up the side quests and hopefully I can find some people to play co-op with .

Anyway, I was motivated to do this blog because I've been playing some great demos....well actually all of them aren't great.

Banjo & Kazooie Nuts & Bolts

This doesn't feel like a demo at all because it is huge. I wasn't too sure how much I was going to like the game because it isn't a traditional platformer like all of the other Banjo games. After playing this demo I can say that the game is awesome. The addition of the vehicles fits in perfectly and doesn't feel forced at all. I still have to check out the online stuff because the word on the street is that its a blast to play.

Mirrors Edge

After seeing so many videos I already knew what to expect when it came to graphics but I was curious to get my hands on the controller to play it. Turns out the controls are different....but in a good way. It takes some getting use to because the buttons aren't mapped out like a traditional FPS. The whole concept of the game is fascinating to me just because it seems so mysterious.

Fracture

I won't spend too much time on this game. I definitely will not, by no means, be buying this game. I won't say its bad because it's not, it's just that it is super generic and not interesting at all. That is all.

Tomb Raider Underworld

This game is similar to Tomb Raider Legends except it looks stunning. The controls feel tight. I love the fact that you can swim underwater without worrying about if you're going to run out of oxygen. The environment that was shown was beautiful and lush. I can't wait for the end of this month to roll around so I can play it.

Those were the demos that I managed to play. I'm happy to see that demos are hitting the Marketplace before the game is released.

Novemeber '08 - The Month Ahead (Da Broke Edition)

The holiday season is approaching which means that there are going to be some amazing video games coming out with the next couple of weeks. As much as I would love to get all of the games that interest me this month, money doesn't grow on trees so here are the games that I will definitely be buying....

Thats it. Those are the games that I'm sure to be buying this month. All of the other games will have to wait until Christmas or whenever I get some extra money.

Honorable Mention:

  • Call of Duty World at War
  • Resistance 2
  • Prince of Persia
  • Animal Crossing City Folk
  • Sonic Unleashed (don't laugh....it looks interesting)
  • Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
  • The Last Remnant
  • Need for Speed Undercover
Crazy amount of games but I'm ready for it!!! Oh and if you didn't know I can't wait to get my hands on the New Xbox Experience. Unfortunately I didn't get into the beta but there is only 18 more days to go. YAY!!!!

Less Tricks & More Treats

Happy Halloween to all of you out there.

About an hour ago I got back from taking my son trick or treating. Throughout the years I've noticed that not that many kids are out in the neighborhoods going door to door. This year was so weird because there was barely any other trick or treaters out there. I say it's strange but my son loved it since every house put loads of candy into his bag. Willy Wonka better watch out 'cause with all this candy, we might have to open our our chocolate factory.

I'm too exhausted to do anything else so I'm going to call it a night. Can you believe November is here already? It's crazy how fast time flies by.
