One Week Over

Bought, and beat Bioshock twice. I still have to try again, as I've heard there are three endings. So far I've seen the one for saving the Little Sisters, and the one for killing all the Sisters. Apparently the other is if you save some, and kill some so like 50/50. So have to say the game is really good. After playing though I have to agree with some of the complaints thrown up by the review. I would give it a 9.35.

Also I no longer own Gears of War or Oblivion as traded them in for Bioshock which made it cost only $20 which is not that bad seeing as I don't actually play Gears(MP no my thing), and already played around 70 hours of Oblivion so got my money's worth from that game already.

So yea here is hoping that Halo 3, and that Mass Effect will be great. As thats probable the only games that I will be getting for the remainder of the year unless there is some crazy good 9.5+ game that drops unexpectedaly. Though I don't see that happening.

Oh been listening to Common's two newest abums( Finding Forever, and Be) and have to say that he is a really good muscician. If you've never heard either albums should check them out. I know he isn't new to music, but he's new to me so yea.

School started again for me again at RPI. Feels like it was just yesterday coming into summer break. But yea so far its been going okay. For those that care my classes: Data Structures & Algorithms(brain-melting hard) - Computer Organization(hard) - Account for Decision Making(Alright) - Astronomy Earth & Sky(Interesting-sometimes) - Management Leadership 1(Easy, or is it?).

And in common RPI fashion 2 of my teachers have poor English skills, and pretty sure a good chunk of the Graduate TAs probable don't have understandable English Skills. But thats what you get I guess for going to RPI. Also to boot one of my professors(DSA) is friends with my parents so yea can't screw up in his class...So yea not liking my classes all that much. Also my dad has this crazy idea of me getting a dual major of Comp Sci/Management rather then just a major Comp Sci, and minor Management.

The "Dog" Days are Over.

One week left for me before I start again for another semester, and sadly or happily next summer is probable going to be a lot more busy then this one. So one week till I have to say hi to RPI once more though I have to go there next week a couple of times anyway.

I downloaded, and played the Bioshock demo and have to say I am eagerly waiting for the full game to come out. Though why couldn't it have come out say last week then I wouldn't have to worry about that whole school thing breathing down by neck. But yea the reviews keep coming saying this is one of the greatest FPS ever made. So if your a "gamer" you should play this game.

Also Halo 3 is coming around. Already GS is starting up its launch center with everyone waiting on the FPS but I have a feeling the Game of the Year is dropping in under 4 days, and Halo 3 is only exciting since the original Halo was great. Though dare I say it, that Bioshock is greater then Halo? I think I just did: Bioshock > Halo. Though I haven't played the full game so I'm jumping the gun.

Also I just beat Half Life 2 today. Yea I really shouldn't be calling others out about being gamers as I'll admit I'm a poor gamer. But yea beat Half Life 2, and was a pretty good game especially when it came out all those years ago. Though the story was a little confusing like were did the headcrabs come from, why is City 17 so repressed, who was that benefactor that he was inclined to send him away, and what's with the ending? A very weak story for a newcomers with too many holes.

And Warren Buffet Said

If anyone has been paying slight attention to the stock markets been a weird couple of weeks. For those that don't know its gone from an all time high of 14,000 down to 13,200 then back up to 13,600 and today lost 387 points. So yea a turbulent week all because of those subprime loans. A subprime loan is what a bank would give say a home buyer if his or her credit score is below 650ish or has is considered high risk. The industry is huge at $6.5 trillion, and after the home market crash hasn't been doing well at all. But Warren Buffet, for those who don't know is now the third was second richest person in the world, said that the subprime market wouldn't hurt the overall economy so got to have faith in him. Though going around like this isn't exactly healthy.

Also played the Eternal Sonata demo on XBL, and have to say that I was surprised by this game especially after Blue Dragon. After playing that demo I had low expectations for the Eternal Sonata demo but have to say it was very fun to play. Also a small demo at 500 mb it isn't diffucutly, and only 30 mins to beat but it was fun. The combat is new, easy to learn, but still take some skill though not much against the demo's enemies as it looks like the diffuculty was on easy. The graphics are pretty nice, and the art style is fresh. Its actually kind of a shame as this game comes out two or three days after Halo 3. However, choose that spot did a poor job as its going to be overlooked. But I'll pick this game up later hopefully. So play the demo if you haven't already.

Oh and funny how Epic is countersueing Silicon Knights. Wow have to say that wasn't expected. /sarcasm.

I have to see Bourne Ultimatum. I saw the reviews, and looks like the movie is excellent. Also has Matt Damon who I think is a pretty good actor. Oh and been watching Entourage. Its a really a good show to watch so go watch it.

Harry Plopper for Life

I heard that GTA IV has been delayed, and have to say I'm really really disappointed. It was the number 1 game I was looking forward to this year. Even more then Halo 3. It really did look like the game was ready at E3 from the parts that I heard about so I don't know what parts of the game are creating a need for a at the least 5 month delay.

I guess the good thing is that I'll have $60 more dollars left in my pocket. So my list is down to 3 games. Bioshock, Halo 3, and Mass Effect. From the one review that is out for Bioshock which gave it a 10/10!!! I'm getting really excited about the game.

Finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I won't say anything just in case someone hasn't read the story. But overall was happy, but also a little disappointed. I was expecting more wizardry fights. Also the deaths came too fast. Had to reread some portions of the book after realizing a character had just died. Though I think that might have been more my fault as I read fast. Though this time I read a little slower as took me around 9 hours. Kind of sad now that its over since I've always liked the Harry Potter books, and now they are over. I heard there would be an encyclopedia of Harry Potter which tells about what happens after the book 7. Because I have to admit the epilogue was weak, and felt like some raving Harry Potter fan wrote it.

Also saw two movies. The Simpsons, and also Live Free of Die Hard (Die Hard 4.0). I would have to say that The Simpsons was pretty good. Not a brilliant movie, but still a pretty good one with some great jokes. Also saw Die Hard and was also a good movie. I have to admit that if they do a Die Hard 5.0 I expect it to be good after seeing this one. So go see both of them, NOW!

The Aftermath

Well E3 is over, and apparently the rumor mills has already started descusion about the next E3. A whole new E3 2008 may be coming around if the rumor is to be believed. Link It would be very exciting if the E3 was moved to NYC. For one thing it would be on the east coast, and if they did something like TGS does with a day or two open to the public I could actually go to it. Also the date might be changed which wouldn't be too big of a deal as long as it wasn't dropped during finals time.

Also got 4 new emblems from E3. Yea I watched it all live. I really did nothing else for that whole week. So spent the previous week catching up with all the other stuff I neglected.

Thanks to E3 I've figured out my game list for what I'm going to be getting. August: Bioshock Sept:Halo 3 Oct:GTA IV Nov: Mass Effect Dec: Anything else from previous months. So one game of a month. Not even close to a boat load but with school starting up means I won't be concentrating on playing video games. Also no more WoW so I expect my grades to rise, hopefully.

I have to admit that I don't understand all the crazy hype behind the Rock Band, and Guitar Hero III. As I've never played Guitar Hero I or II, and am generally bad at rhytm games so my opinion is extremely biased but it looks like an overglorified version of DDR with rock music in the background. With the 4 repeating buttons being at the end of a piece of cheap plastic in the form of a guitar rather then the cheap plastic forming a controller. I just don't get what's so great about it. I guess its one of those things that you've got to play?
