wrong dead body? wtf!

mmkay so i'm guessing everyone heard about the first aussie casualty in the iraq war. and how they brought back the WRONG BODY. and they told us that the guy accidentally fired a gun into himself. WHAT THE F*CK! the guys been in there a while, he's a trained soldier, i don't think he accidentally shot himself. is it POSSIBLE that since there is a WAR going on, and war is basically the practice of killing people for doing nothing, that maybe SOMEONE ELSE SHOT HIM? and people just don't want us to think that people are actually DYING in this stupid war. hmmm. so then they bring back the wrong body, which means there are TWO dead bodies, both possibly australian, one we haven't been told about. interesting.

big brother

oh yay, another series of this sh*t. another troupe of bogan famewhores sleazing around for their 15 minutes of fame. more exploitation. more morons trying to be 'outrageous' and 'scandalous' and get their face on tv. and sleep with everyone else there. f*ck it. oh well...i'm going to see dylan moran at the comedy festival tonight...for those of you who don't know, that's bernard from black books...my idol...should be good.

prussian blue

i CAN'T be the only one who's heard of this. please tell me i'm not. basically it's a pop group consisting of two twins with blonde hair, white skin, and blue eyes. might not seem important but trust me it is. see the thing is, these two girls are like 13 or 14, and they are white supremists. they've performed at ku klux klan meetings and when they perform they wear smiley face t shirts with a hitler mustache. they say 'we're just trying to purify our race'. these f*cked up morals have been installed in these obviously insane girls by their mother who says she's just 'passing on the family beleifs'. they sing songs like 'aryan man, arise'.
it's f*cking disturbing, sickening and kind of sad that these two girls are so twisted...
and now i heard they might be coming here to australia. no thanks. keep your insane f*ckers to yourself please.

The Go Set Rock/Pop
""
you can only hear this band, by the way, if you live in australia. oh and if you like 70s punk rock combined with some bagpipes and a mandolin. the go set infuse these two very different elements and create a very special, interesting and unique sound. it's very drinking, party orientated with songs such as 'the old dark brown' which focuses on drinking with an old friend, and 'sing me a song'. you can tell that the singer (Justin Keenan) is australian, he has a very distinct accent that just GOES with the music. very melodious stuff. the band have this raw, youthful vibrancy and energy...kind of like the living end's songs, combined with blink 182s energy, plus the background music from an irish pub. although, as i said, they are completely unique. they even throw a tin whistle in there. and they pull it off. justin writes all their music. the cd was recorded live which might account for its awesome raw live feeling. although there are no sounds of an audience interfering with the quality. it's very good quality. c'mon people support these guys, their album is an independant release and they are one of the few bands i've seen who really AREN'T in it for the money. as they said themselves 'if one person walks away from a show or this record with a smile our job is done'. ain't that nice? really non pretentious, working class stuff. theres a bit of everything song wise. some touching slowish songs about the average working class man struggling to make it '5am' to a very fun anthemic song about the discoverers of australia '1788' to stories of war and a wandering man. GOOD VALUE. well I love it.

to compare this band to the sex pistols is stupid. whilst these two bands may appear similiar underneath they're very very different...the main difference i can see being that the clash seem to be indefinably more talented and more focused on the music part of their career. not their image. so...basically the clash rock. one of the best and also influential bands to have ever existed. these guys deserve more credit than they get. their music is pure lowbrow fun fast punk. for a start, get your ass up and go buy london calling (their best record) or the essential clash which has all their best on there...and beleive me there s a lot! the clash are awesome awesome awesome.

The Living End Rock/Pop
""
just thought i'd write a reveiw for them explaining just how f*cking brilliant these guys are. ok...well i used to think they were just another pop punk band. i got them confused for some reason with three doors down which was stupid of me. anyway basically the living end are three down to earth talented australian guys (well also that chris guy is fairly hot. to be fair, all of them are). they're songs are kinda pop punk rock, and it must be admitted, they do sound a bit like green day. but their also original and awesome in their own way. the songs themselves are catchy rock tunes with loud singable choruses and melodic punk tunes. sometimes with a good message behind them too...some very good lyrics are being written here! also an awesome band to see live! if you like this band, make sure you see them live! that's when they're at their best. also cos they're songs are just like punk singalongs its a lotta fun to be there with the crowd when everyone's screaming out 'cos i'm a brat, and i know everything, and i talk back'. i saw them live at federation square in melbourne not long ago...it's amazing that these guys have been around for so long and still sound so incredibly fresh and full of energy. yeah, that's it, their songs are energetic anthems! can't wait for their new album...also check out their video clips, particularly their new one for what's on your radio. very entertaining message throughout that clip about the controlling media. ok....well if you want to get into them the first album you should get is their best one yet, modern ARTillery. this had some awesome singles (who's gonna save us, one said to the other) but the really great thing was the consistency in the album. every song rocked. which is another awesome thing about the living end, their kickass consistency to make every song their best. also, check these guys out at the big day out 06! done. ps. the living end rock.

only heard these guys like, what, two days ago? BUT now i have two of their albums and i am loving it. these guys rock rock rock rock ROCK. although they are slight trend followers, crawling along in the wake of bands such as green day and alkaline trio their music is truly special for the simple fact it ROCKS so hard. its good stuff to just blast out, and blast it out loud, i'm telling you. very good vocals too, i like the guys voice. no i don't know his name, i told you, i only heard em two days ago. very very cool stuff.

Give 'Em the Boot, Vol. 4

reaaaaaaaaaaaally good value for money...heh, i got it for ten bucks. i would've paid more for it though because it is supremely WORTH IT. ok...a word to describe it: KICKASS. or is that two words? anyway this whole cd is full of intense awesome kick ass tracks from start to finish, opening with what is possibly the best song on here, rancid's tim armstrong's effort and then continueing onto plenty more other punked up tracks from bands like the distillers and aggrolites and many many more. best track is a throw up between all of them. lol lol lol i just feel like writing lol for some reason. the only thing wrong with this cd (or at least MY copy) is the packaging. it comes in one of those cardboard formats, you know the folded up thing, but the cd doesn't stay in very well, it keeps falling out, which means mine is scratched already. other than that : absolute KICKASS.
