Southern California Wildfires!!
Southern California is on fire!! Literally!! Wildfires are spreading through the southland, like, well, wildfire. Right now, the fires are about 5 miles from my house. I haven't got the evacuation order, not in danger yet, but still keeping an eye on things to make sure if I do have to evacuate I'll be prepared. I packed a small bag just in case and have been assessing things that I could/want to take if I was told I would have to leave in a moment's notice. We'll keep you all updated. Positive thoughts, please.
Went to see The Ellen Show taping yesterday
Yesterday, I went with my cousin to see "Ellen" show taping. I lived in Southern California my whole life and have never been to a TV taping until yesterday. It was pretty cool, although the waiting was the worst. We got there an hour before we were supposed to so we had to wait about 3 hours until we were let in. They did two tapings yesterday, the first taping they did aired today and the one I went to, which was the second taping of the day, will air on Monday, November 17. The guests of that show were Kate Walsh of "Private Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy"; Brooke Burke & Derek Hough of "Dancing with the Stars" and 7-year-old pianist Emily Baer, plus special guest star Brian Austin Green who got dunked. Ellen was very nice, she spoke to the audience during breaks. Plus, the whole studio audience got free copies of "Wall-E" on DVD, which doesn't go on sale until next Tuesday. (5 studio audience members got Blu-Ray players and one won a trip to see Ellen taped in Las Vegas.) They had to re-tape one segment as the 7-year-old pianist said she hit one wrong note during her song, so they retaped the whole song to splice it into the previous segment. Ellen had to sit the same way but they just taped the pianist's hands the second time. Not sure if I'll appear on TV as the camera shots of the audience were mostly on the other side near the DJ, but Ellen did dance on our side and was close to the aisle seat. Will have to watch Monday's show to see if I appear.
Election Results: I Blame Stupid Oprah!!
Well, the election's over. I must say I'm not surprised Obama won or thrilled for that matter, but I am very disappointed. It seems most of America are sheep, who just do what they're told. To be fair, Obama didn't win this on his own, he had the fortune of good-timing (the stock market crashes and Fannie Mae collapses) and the ass-kissing media including his biggest ass-kisser Ms. Winfrey. I truly fear America has made the WRONG choice and will only regret our "choice" in 4 years. Hopefully, I'm wrong and B.O. will prove to be decent, but I think it's a safe bet to say he'll be a one-termer.
It's Election Day!: Don't Forget to Vote
For my fellow American citizens (over the age of 18 ), exercise your right to vote today. Regardless of who or what you vote for, you should vote. Voting is an important part of the political process and we should all do our part.
King of the Hill Cancelled
After 13 seasons, FOX has decided to pull the plug on "King of the Hill." I guess it's not that unexpected, but still surprising. Honestly, I don't watch it as regularly as I used to, but 13 years is a long run for any series (Seinfeld only last 9, Friends 10), especially an animated series. In fact, KOTH is the second longest-running prime time animated series in American history (second only to "The Simpsons," of course.) Well, I just want to give a shout out to Mike Judge and the KOTH crew for 13 good years.
