I've lost my soul.
In a figurative sense.
Demon's Souls is and will be for the foreseeable future, the only game on my mind. Uncharted 2 who? It's been a long time since a game has put me in as many pulse pounding situations, kicked me so many times while I was down, and left me coming back for more every single time. Dying in this game just leads to a stronger desire to continue. What a great feeling.Easily my 3rd favorite game of this generation ( Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4 are on such a high throne...). If you own a PS3, or are a fan of RPG's you owe it to yourself to play this game. It's pretty much mandatory.
I also recently completed Brutal Legend, which was a surprisingly entertaining and well crafted game itself. The world is beautifully imagined, and the story is chock full of plot twists, metal legend cameos, and shocking amounts of emotion. Gameplay is simple, yet addictive because of the available upgrades and myriad of various solos such as "the facemelter" (guess what that does). It's hindered a bit by how short it is, and the side quest's do become very repetitive, but overall it's definitely worth checking out.
Aside from gaming, nothing much going on. Some health issues on my mind, planning a massive Halloween party (my favorite time of year) and watching some anime. Just finished Witch Hunter Robin, and currently into Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Both are amazing series.
Hope everyones doing well. ![]()
Selling some games,interested? EDIT
Well people, I really hate to be THAT guy, but due to a couple issues I won't be listing anything on eBay.
Sorry to the couple people that were interested.
Short blog is short.
Well, I have utterly lacked all enthusiasm toward writing up another update regarding how I'm wasting all of my time.
I'll try to keep this short, and then I've got a question. ![]()
As far as what I have been doing is concerned; Watching Neon Genesis Evangelion platinum perfect collection, playing the hell out of Left 4 Dead, replaying one of my favorite games of all time, Silent Hill 3, and attempting now to get over a nasty sore throat. ![]()
Now for my question. Any of you guys play Left 4 Dead? I'm pretty much lacking steam friends that are online regularly, so it would be nice to get some GS friends together for a game. If your interested, my Steam id is Midnight Repose. Hell, we may have even played before! (if I sucked, I don't wanna hear it.
)
Well, lookie there... I CAN cry...

I just finished watching the anime OVA titled Voices of a Distant Star. Created, produced, and animated all by one brilliant man, Makoto Shinkai.
The year is 2046. Mikako and Noburo spend their entire life together. Schoolmates, best friends. They intended to one day live their lives together, inseperable, andin bliss. Until an attack by aliens known as Tarsians on an invaluable Mars expeditionary team dashes their dreams in an instant. Mikako herself is selected by the UN due to her high test scores, to pilot a mech suit (known as a "Tracer"), and she's summoned almost immediately. The only form of communication they can sustain is via cell phone text message.
Noburo is devastated, and hangs on every second for her messages, incapable of leading a normal life. As Mikako ventures deeper into space, the messages take longer and longer for them to find their way to Noburo, eventually reaching years. While Noburo is growing old on earth, living in agony, Mikako has retained her age in the depths of space. They are truly the victims of fate.
The animation style of this work is nearly without fault in my opinion. Hand drawn characters against beautifully imagined and detailed backgrounds, impeccable lighting, and massive scale 3D mechs and warships make for one of the most visually pleasing anime's I've seen. Character designs are slightly un-original, but that becomes insignificant when their viewed in such lush setpieces.
Somber, tear jerking drama isn't all this has to offer either, as there are multiple scenes of sci-fi inspired space battles. Gory duels with the Tarsians in the middle of deep space and epic scenes of each race's massive starships attacking each other with drones and lasers. All of this awesomeness is set against an amazing piano score by Tenmon, a composer who also worked on Ef: A Tale of Memories.
One of the better films I've seen lately, and it barely lasts 30 minutes.
Do what you must to at least check this one out.
In gaming news, nothing exciting for me really. Played Ghostbusters, which I quite enjoyed actually. Strongly recommended to fans of the movie, and a rent for everyone else as its fresh, innovative gameplay makes it worthy of experiencing. Also anxiously awaiting my copy of BlazBlue's arrival.
Well, that all for now. Hope everyones doing well.
If you've seen the film, be sure to let me know your thoughts. ![]()
Just a couple things...
Well, this is just a relatively short blog. Just wanted to say something about a film I recently watched.
The title is "Let the Right One In". See the imdb page for a description of the story and characters.
I have to say that it was the most beautfiully crafted film I've ever seen, and is quite possibly my favorite of all time. A work of pure genius. If your of the age to watch a rated R film (
) I definitely suggest you do everything you must to see it.
Also finally picked up Heavenly Sword on PS3, after passing over it on the shelf for so long (heard it was bland and short). I personally think the game is right up there with the best the PS3 has to offer. The characters are a particularly great trait of the game, and it has some of the most impressive facial animation (and, as a matter of fact, animation over all) that I've seen since Half-Life 2's. Gameplay is very God of War inspired, but with a more intricate combat system including three different stances which open up entirely new movesets. The cutscenes of the game are a treat to watch, and the SIXAXIS controlled aftertouches you can perform to guide arrows fired from a crossbow (weilded by Kai, Nariko's sister) or any other objects from thrown wooden hats to cannonballs are the best use of SIXAXIS in the entire PS3 library.
If you've got a PS3, and have yet to play it, don't hesitate.
Well, I hope everyone is doing well, and I bid you adieu.
