Wow it's a new year. I'm not really that fussed about it but I thought it was a good excuse to do a blog. My 3rd one since I joined over 5 years ago and 2 and a half years since my last one. That's a good average.
I'm building up a small collection of Wii and DS games and I'm hoping to build on that this year. Although my New Years resolution should be to actually play the games I own and complete them.
I own 21 DS games (that I can recall) and I haven't actually played2of them while 8 of them are games I was halfway through before stopping. Some of them being 'big' games such as Phantom Hourglass, FF III, DQ IV and Kingdom Hearts.
My Wii collection is worse. The majority of them I've only played once or twice and stopped, yet again really good popular games such as Super Mario Galaxy, Battalion Wars 2, No More Heroes, Zack and Wiki, Metroid Prime 3 and Little Kings Story. I really don't know why I find it so hard to sit down and play my Wii games.
I'm gonna try my best to get back into gaming and that includes being more active on here. Won't happen but oh well. Happy 2010 everyone.
i post one forum topic which i've never done and people jump on top of me telling that i'm in the wrong topic forum. who gives a crap!? seriously. maybe i didn't know what topic to put my question in so i put it in that one. is that so wrong? man, and people always get modded or suspended, just remembering from back in the day i used this site more often. i imagine its worse now.

Hey Back again !!! the Shinedown show was awesome !!!! I couldn't believe how small the Tabernacle was, I guess it holds maybe 2000 people, but it totally rocked !!!! we saw Number one contender, Halestorm, and of course, Shinedown !!! NOC is a band from Charleston, and they were pretty good, the lead singer came out with no shirt on from the beginning, so the girls were with him from the get go. They also had a guitar player who wore a shirt and tie and a sweater vest and looked like Lance Armstrong, we called him the professor. !!!! Then Halestorm came on, and they totally rocked !!! my wife was not a big fan, what a shocker since Halestorm features Lzzy Hale as the lead singer !!! her brother is the drummer, and the band did something I have never seen- the drummer (Arejay) did a solo, and really got the crowd going, and then when he had 'em going good, he pulled out a pair of drumsticks that were like 3 feet long, and he kept playing with them !!! THEN, the rest of the band came out and set up a set of 4 drums in the front of the stage, and the whole band played drums together, Lzzy and her brother and the 2 other guitar players, all together, VERY COOL!!!!!!! PLUS , when Lzzy came out, she had a white Flying V, and she later also played a explorer guitar, and I think she really sings very well, she also gets the crowd into it, which is VERY big !!! i just checked out a youtube video of halestorm , in a radio station, Lzzy sang Heart's All I wanna do is make love to you, one of my favorite all time heart songs, in an acoustic version, also super cool!! Watch for Halestorm, they will be big one day !!! Then, Shinedown came out, no pyro, no big intro, very litttle lights, they just kinda showed up: Barry the drummer came out and took his spot, and then Brent and the guys came out, and they just started playing and rocking, and the whole place was really INTO IT , ya know?? I LOVED IT !!!!! they rocked the place, we were on the second floor, and we could feel the floor bouncing up and down, A LOT, we were a little worried, but we just said, screw it and we had a fantastic time !!! I would easily say it was one of the best concerts i've seen yet, (EVER!!!) just from the energy and the love for the band, it was something special being in an old building that now just lives to rock it!! I truly hope the belugas and the rest of the fish at the georgia aquarium were at least feeling the music and , Iknow they would enjoy it !!!! the belugas love to dance, you know ?? we got a Halestorm cd, and I got the wife a Shinedown t shirt, and she had a really great time, maybe even more so than the Nickelback concert!!! my wife made friends with a woman behind us, and she didn't know Shinedown before, but she likes them now !!!! SD didn't play Simple Man, which was a letdown, but I watched some stuff on youtube where Brent said they basically said they just didnt feel the same playing the song now without Jasin, and that it was kinda a tribute to Dimebag Darrel when they did it. I can understand that, and I think it's so cool they are a band that actually has that much feeling and attachment to their songs and the music and the people who inspired it, to them, ya know ??I would easily pay to see the show again, tomorrow, a month from now, a year from now,whenever!!!
ps , Shinedown announced they are touring this summer with Halestorm,Chevelle (another very cool band) and Staind !!
pps ROCK SO LIVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
listening to : Audioslave, right this second!!! ( so awesome!!!) also, Halestorm (duh!!) (I GET OFF !!) and Seether (check out the videos, they have some awesome ones, a great use for youtube, Seether is really great !!!!) as well as metallica, Kill em all and Death Magnetic !!!! both are awesome

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a prequel to Star Ocean 1 (for the SNES, or it's remake for the PSP - Star Ocean: First Departure). The game comes in 3 DVDs for the Xbox360, in a very poor case (they are all stacked! I know you gotta cut costs and such, Square Enix. But can't you give us proper packaging at least?). I'm gonna start talking about the things I didn't like in the game first, and save the better for last. First thing - many people had trouble with the game freezing, myself included. The funny thing is that what worked for some, didn't work for others. In my case, I started playing from the DVD until it started freezing on me on the first disc. The game does not have a lot of save points, which means that the game could freeze on you in a long dungeon and thus making you have to redo it all again. My solution then was copying the game to my 360's HD, and after I started playing from the HD, I never had trouble again with this issue.
Another thing that didn't please many was the storyline. It was very superficial, average at best. I cannot chose a "favorite" character in this game, because although some efort was made to develop them through Private Actions, it was very uninspired. The character designs didn't help either; doll-like faces as Lymles' made it hard to make you feel any connection to those characters. In my opinion, the NPCs in the game were far more interesting than the main cast, for whatever reason. At a major plot twist in the middle of the game, many people gets annoyed with a certain character's depressed mode... myself included!
Although the Item Creation part of the game isn't bad (I liked it was very easy to make new items and such, very straightforward), I didn't see much use for it. The best weapons can only be made after you finish the extra bosses, and after you do face them, why bother making those items?! Seriously.... And speaking of extra content, the game does offer quite some. Personally, I liked it especially the extra bosses Gabriel Celeste and Ethereal Queen. The one thing that really ticked me off was the lack of save points at the Wandering Dungeon, in which you face Ethereal Queen. It is ridiculous going through that 5+ dungeon without being able to save, then having your behind handed to you by her and losing all those hours in vain. My blood boils just remembering that (YEAH, I got pwned my first try, and I had taken 7 hours to get to her. UGH!).

Now, into the really good stuff. The music of the game is amazing, as you would expect from Motoi Sakuraba. There are many tunes from previous Star Ocean games, including my favorite battle themes like "Don't Be A Hero" (it is SO EPIC!) and "Stab The Sword of Justice" (from SO2). The game's graphics were outstanding until you'd start a battle. The framerate drops a lot because of the franctic battle system. For me, it didn't matter as much because I was more into the battle system than paying attention to the battle's graphics, but many people didn't like. Oh well! I also liked a lot some of the background designs and such.

The greatest thing in this game though, IS the battle system. It is very fast paced (and to think I'd only play turn-based RPGs a few years ago!), many cool abilities including the awesome Blindside attack, which is pretty much like the slow motion effect in Matrix so to speak - you press a certain button when attacking the opponent, then it will show in slow motion your character going behind the opponent and striking it. So awesome! You also have the Battle Trophies, like in Star Ocean 3, however this time, you have plenty more - 100 for each character. If you don't know, Battle Trophies are like "achievements" (not in the Xbox360 sense) for fufiling a certain requirement in battle - say, Edge needs to do 10 Blindsides.
Overall, it is still an enjoyable game if you are into RPGs and fast-paced battle systems, or of course, if you are a fan of the Star Ocean series. Otherwise, I'm afraid you may not enjoy this game at all, making yourself drag to finish this game. Personally, I liked as an overall product - I just wish the didn't have the ridiculous character design and average storyline. This is a game that could have been so much more and had a lot of potential that went to waste.
This year my new major is programming. Programming has been my hobby ever since I got my first graphic calculator and now I ended up learning all the details about it. I'v already learned so much, I decided to make an old-school RPG.
It's a reallygood challenge so far and it should keep me busy for a long time.
I've also made up this riddle for my game. Let's see if anyone can solve it. Also, please rate the difficulty. I want my game to be a really challenging RPG, so I have to put this riddle somewhere appropriate.
One by one we ascend from ground zero.
In the four corners of the world we await a hero.
A century of war and a century of death,
one fought 'till his very last breath.
He split an army of millions and cast away three demons.
And then he wavered, only once.
With his leftover strength he fired a blast.
He fell and died, but killed the last.
From the grave we tell you this tale.
Without our help you'll surely fail.
From the twilight, five will rise.
Find the five numbers and claim your prize.
I'm going to start posting reviews every now and then. Originally I posted reviews on a regular basis but then stopped and I had to write a new review to keep my GS Top 500 review emblem which is why I wrote the Prince of Persia review last month. I'll probably write reviews for 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Afro Samurai and possibly Matt Hazard: Eat Lead. Obviously 50 Cent and Afro Samurai aren't great games that need further breakdown and analysis but I'm kind of in the mood in rag on something since they're both meh games. I just started Matt Hazard today and while the writing and concept are quite good it doesn't help keep the game enjoyable since the combat is boring and wonky.
Also in the upcoming months a site I'm going to be contributing to is going to launch. A fellow GS member is involved and is working on the site and it's going to be quite cool. I'm hoping people here will check it out and perhaps spend some of their time on the site since GS has been a bit crap. I'll of course post updates when the site is getting closer to launch.
i can't write seriously here because all the stupid rules, "no-free-to-speech rules" (I have for example get "level 26" 7-8 times but always have I been banned temporaly for days and lost points for no reasons.
Anyway, what can I write here, and why do I write here, whats the point? I write to myself like a da*n diary. The clock here I live is 07.13 in morning and I've been up all night & yesterday - Why didn't I slept tonight? Because 2 reasons:
1) I have feeling "dumb" and still does- I never feel "dumb" - NEVER in my life, whatever I do, I just give a cr..p. But yesterday evening I f******d up everything pretty good, and for the first time in my life I feel dumb. I can't write much about it here but it's about a girl I REALLY LIKE, she is an angel, but I shocked her pretty good (I think) ysterday because I was so st*on*ed. Sh****T! I am still st*on*ed like hell, and everyone sleeping right now except me, I have nothing to do and I am afraid that she will leave me now & and if she does everything will be f****d up! Time to take some candy Bye peace out
2) Don't remember
Things keep changing around here dont they?
Everything accept my level....... I've been level 20 for over a year now! Maybe if I logged on more than once a year it would help huh?
Hello to all of my friends & or anyone who reads this!
I'm seriously losing my liking for this site. Not as fun as it used to be. I havn't posted on forums in about a year. Nothing interesting. Ever since I've gotton myself a girlfriend, I've lost my likeing for this site. Its the same crap almost all the time.
Theres always one person that is like "I'm Back!", you know who I'm talking about, and you were like "Who is this person?" . Then theres the person thats posting something from a article. THen theres the person that posts what they're getting this week.idk.its just all the same.I'll still be on here.just less.oh and no one reads my blogs. or just no one comments them.
No, that's not a typo, I love Microsoft! ![]()
It's not a favorable or popular opinion in most circles, but I'm fine with that. My two favorite gaming systems are the Xbox 360 and my PC which runs Microsoft Windows Vista. Is this an attempt at gaining MS's favor and perhaps getting some freebies, no (though anything sent my way I won't reject
)
I came to this realization yesterday after having finally got past a super easy boss in Star Wars Force Unleashed, for some reason I was completely stuck at this point for a long time and I'm still kinda unsure as to why, then I completed 6 levels last night and earned 12 more Achievements... and here's where the love was realized.
After having played Mass Effect a while back, discovering and loving the Achievement system I bought a new PC with Vista, and after getting used to the constant prompts for security I really like the layout, the ALT+Tab view options, navigation, heck even the backgrounds that came with the system. I especially enjoy how my old games look refreshed and renewed, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic looks better and plays better today then it did a few years ago when I first played (of course that's my processor and graphics card more than anything). But I put the 360 on the backburner so to speak, because I had this new gaming rig to play with.
Having finally surpassed this ridiculously easy boss in SW Force Unleashed and finally moving on (and not falling off bridges etc) as the Achievements started to pour in I started to enjoy the game more and more. As you all are well aware, when you get really stuck in game, it's not fun, it's frustrating... I already had the game on my To-Sell list for Ebay! Believe me! But the Achievements brought me back in. I really am terribly addicted to them. It's sad, isn't it?
This brings me back to the topic of this blog post, I really do love Microsoft. Yeah they may be a greedy, manipulative, bazillion-dollar monopoly who crushes their competitors without even the slightest blink, but hey, they do make some fun and very useful products. (there go my freebies)
Now just add Achievements to the Xbox Originals and you're GOLDEN!
(Really just Dreamfall and Jade Empire, maybe Destroy All Humans?
)
I have not been on gamespot in a whhile, and I thought I would say to everyone that I am alive and gaming. I will try to get on later and catch up with you. Peace out, and I'll catch you on the flip side.
Tim
Yeah so I got back to Puerto Rico yesterday.
Europe was awesome. I had an amazing time thanks to a hot girl I met in the tours, Elizabeth, mexican. Never thought I'd like so much a girl I met
Most of the times they come at me, I get the fun out of the girl, then, next
But she was an important one
Europe wouldn't have been the same without her.
Anyway, I went to Italy, France, Spain, Austria, and Germany.
I wrote a sort of journal of each place I went to, I'll edit later and post it here.
Also, I got MGS4 today...
One thing I have seldom experienced during my years as a gamer is being at complete odds with the opinion of the general public. Spurring from the continued success of the Wii however, and the handing around of '9.0s' like its going out of fashion, I have now begun to find myself more readily disagreeing with the popular opinion of the gaming community and industry more and more. Recently after actually getting an Xbox 360 and playing a certain game which has been plagued industry wide with negative reviews I have become compelled to write this opinionative rant. The game I am talking about is Clive Barker's Jericho and I'm writing about... (to put bluntly) why the hell do so many people not like this game!!?
*sigh* Before I get too far I feel I should probably state that I do realise people have different opinions.. but almost every review I've read and video review I've watched and score I've looked at I just completely disagree with. Let me try and break down my POV on this game in comparison to the critics;
1) Cramped Environments - Uhm.. what? NO! I just passed the part where the demo ended and I have so far not experienced any of the frustrations that reviewers b**** and moan about to do with not having enough room to 'tactically maneuver'. Furthermore learn to f****** shoot you stupid gits. If the 'exploding enemies' are such a big deal, which they certainly are NOT (coming from the guy who's using analog sticks) then maybe you should set the difficulty to easy.. in which case you would then probably whine about it being too boring because there's not enough challenge. Psh!
2) Bad Weapons - I don't even want to know what people are thinking with this. Granted some of the weapons don't pack a nice 'oomph' sound to them, but their capabilities are damn impressive and their designs and graphics are superb. As a matter a fact I also know another game with some weapons which dont sound fantastic; Halo 3.
3) Context Sensitive Button Prompts Feel... Out of Place? - I've played several button prompt games (Resident Evil 4, God of War) and I again have to state this is a stupid comment. These prompt situations are awesome and I never once sat there thinking whilst I was playing 'wow this is so out of place'. What is 'out of place' in relation to button prompts even actually meant to mean anyway...?
4) Unoriginal Abilities - I'm sorry but what were people expecting.. the ability to fly or turn into aquaman? Exorcism, spiritual healing, blood wards, fire demons, slow motion aren't good enough for you people? This is one of the most pathetic attempts to bring down the game.
5) Too Many Abilities and Weapons - So rat out on the 'unoriginality' of some of the coolest, classic supernatural abilities and then whine about how there is too many. I can understand how some people may feel overburdened by the VARIETY the character switching and abilities/weapon combinations this game offers but seriously as far as I've played there has been not one occasion where I have overused or underused a certain character in any fighting situation before (whether its for their weapons or abilities I end up using a nice mix as second nature)
6) Bad Dialogue/Characters - I honestly wasn't expecting much from the characters in the way of any remote submissive or weak nature. They are a branch of the US Military. They are full out commando and whilst not making the game very scary, they really do drive the ambition to run and gun into a pack of blood thirsty (fantastically designed) monsters. Yes the dialogue is strange at times but I personally didn't realise the ridiculousness of some of the lines until they were commented upon in a review.
So there that's my passion for the defence of this game out in words on my blog. I cant stress again how well aware I am of these things called opinions, but this game really deserves more credit than its been given (IMO). I suppose when it boils down to it what really infuriates me is not the are reviews Jericho got, but the reviews other games got in comparison. These include;
- SSBB (9.5) - No way! This game is EXACTLY like melee but with more features thrown in. It's almost laughable it got such a high score..
- Assassin's Creed (9.0) - Beautiful world but becomes rather linear and boring after a while. (OPINION!!)
- Bioshock (9.0) - Well I'm not quite sure what to say about this.. its a great game.. fantastic immersion.. but the enemies were boring and the coolest stage was the first level, Dr Steinmann's surgery. Revolutionary ground breaking story telling... wth? 9.0 worthy? No.
