John Krasinski on The Tonight Show / Review of Conflict Resolution

I was just about to go to sleep when I was flipping through the channels and Jay announced that John Krasinski (Jim) was on tonight. I decided to stay up and watch... and I wasn't disappointed. I love The Office (most of the time), and John's character, Jim, reminds me of a couple of guy friends I've had over the years, and it makes me think that's why he's my favorite character on The Office.

On the Tonight Show he was pretty funny, but I almost didn't believe some of his stories because they sounded so far fetched... getting back at his brother by hurling a lawn dart in his direction thinking that it would wiz by him but hitting him in the head instead.

Anyway, I just love when Jim messes with Dwight (Rainn Wilson). Last week's episode was so funny to me because Michael (Steve Carell) was trying to mediate an argument between Dwight and Jim and started reading off the different complaints Dwight had made. It was so funny because it was one joke after another after another... putting nickels into Dwight's telephone handset over a long period of time so he'd get used to the weight, then removing them all so Dwight would hit himself in the head with the telephone... all of Dwight's pens and pencils were replaced with crayons, Jim paid everyone to call Dwight "Dwayne" for a whole day, everytime Dwight typed his name, it said "Diapers," etc.

Jim says that they don't sound so funny one after another, but I have to disagree, it is HILARIOUS! And the fact that we're only hearing about them makes them that much more funny because your imagination can make it a lot worse (or funnier) than if they had actually showed it.

As an added bonus to the listing of all the things Jim's done to Dwight, we also see him mess with Dwight's security badge. So Dwight "Fart" Schrute is now a Security Threat... classic. I also love when Jim looks into the camera and has some kind of expression, a smirk if he's messing with Dwight, longing if Pam is oblivious to something, etc. It just makes the show seem that much more real, like a welcoming embrace... well at least it seems like that to me :)
