Aside from the somewhat-demonic voice in the beginning of Ratt's "I Want a Woman," the song's lyrical theme is quite simple. The song is quite enjoyable due to the fact that many people can relate to it. The song is about a guy who is fed up with his contrary, immature and cry-baby girlfriend and wants what he calls a "real woman." As far as the song goes musically, the main chorus riffs are catchy because of their simplicity. Overall this song is very catchy and yet almost never gets old.

When David Lee Roth formed his own "super band," in 1985 after splitting with Van Halen, he unleashed his giant ego. It was apparent in early albums such as Crazy From the Heat and Eat 'Em and Smile. Though in 1988, David Lee Roth released the album Skyscraper with the hit single Just Like Paradise. This albums had more of a pop/rock approach containing various synthesizer sounds. Though this album was somewhat successful, I can not decide if this different-sounding album was David Lee Roth's attempt to appeal to more music lovers or rather he was showing a different side of himself.
Aside from this album's history, the tracks on this album are quite catchy with their euphoric guitar and synth riffs. Such tracks include Knucklebones, Perfect Timing, Hot Dog and a Shake, and of course Just Like Paradise. Due to this album's good quality yet lacking in truth, I give it and 8.9.

Despite his rude antics, some believe that David Lee Roth will be or is the very best frontman in 80s rock. Personally, I think he has a very strong, perfect and glorious stage prescence, along with a beautiful voice.
Others also believe that after his career with Van Halen, his reputation plummeted towards the ground. His hits such as Just Like Paradise and Just a Gigilo are some of my favorite songs.
All in all, I believe that David Lee Roth should be very respected and deserves MORE THAN A 4.90!!!

This song gives me very strong love feelings whenever I listen to it. It is truly one of David Lee Roth's best work. It's got a Van Halen-type of twang, yet in a David Lee Roth sense. It puts you in a transe, almost, A PARADISE TRANSE!! I would strongly recommend this song to ANYONE.

In 1984, a light struck upon the land. A light that would soon bring inspiration for artists to come. That light was called "JUMP." Jump is Van Halen's masterpiece and I don't think we give enough credit it to them for bringing the most popular synth-line that hit America. This will ALWAYS be my favorite song, because of the combined talent between David Lee Roth and Edward Van Halen and the ingenious musical features that this song holds.
