Old At Heart
Well now that I made it here to post something, I might as well rant, rant and yeap, you are right, rant! Im my opinion ranting is one of the best inventions of the whole human history. Without ranting we would probably get so full of it, our heads would be like baloons full with water, ready to explode.
So todays topic. What happened to the young people?!?! I mean, I'm young, just 18 but even I think that something weird is going on... Here at our summer house, the population consists of two different types of people: you're either old, and trying to get everyone quiet, waking up at 5 AM in the morning, yelling at kids (actually I do that one, too!) or you're young, and you waste your time and probably some major organs drinking and staying up all night, numbing your brain with lots of gossip and mindless talk.
Nowadays most of my friends are heading back to the civilization so I'm kinda lonely here. A few nights ago I go out to the beach, and some friends joined me there. These people, whom I known since I was like 3 or 4, and they were just born, they are weird. Totally weird. And not normal, you know kinda funny, goofy weird. I like that kind of weird, I really do, heck, I heard people calling me weird but this is, my friends, this is a whole new level of weird.
These are little girls, I mean 13, 14 noone older. And they talk weird, they are proud of the fact that they've just stolen money from their parents to buy beer. And by beer I mean Miller and these are the only people to get drunk with two Millers I've ever known. It's just Miller kids, that shouldn't have that effect on anybody!! And it totally doesn't give you the right to sleep on my lap, either!! I'm not agains drinking, you could tell but I really think that one shouldn't waste oneself like that. I mean drunk singing is something and hitting on every single male species around is another, and have I mentioned these girls are only 14?!?!?! Maybe I'm just too old inside, maybe I'm too conventional (oh yeah...), or my mother's way of bringing me up is getting to me... I don't know what it is but I certainly do feel like an alien around them. If it's a crime to think that 14 year olds shouldn't be eating each others faces around then you know what to do to me.
I noticed something today while watching Ellen. My brother understands English. He studies English as a second language at school and he's 11, and I know for a fact that while reading or writing he's not really good at English. But he understands the basics while watching tv shows. I was having a Scrubs marathon today and he was like, "Oh I love this show, JD is so funny..." and I say "How can you tell that?" and he goes, "Well, he likes Elliot and yet they are avoiding each other, and he has this funny dreams." I'm like WTF?! , he says these of course in Turkish and he went on about other characters. He knew all their names, relationship statues and all. It was kinda scray, thinking that I was the only one with that ability at home. Kinda liberating, secure. Maybe I should work on my German. Oh and I noticed it first when I missed the monologue on Ellen and he summed it to me. Scary, I repeat.
Well, that's all folks.
Take care, see you around.
Love, BuRCu
It's Raining Men!!!
Oh how I wish it were... I'd even settle for women, cats or dogs, I'm not picky.
Unfortunately it's raining like crazy on a beautiful August night. August is supposed to be summer!!! And as if the rain wasn't enough it's all thunders and lightning. It's like mother nature is PMSing lol!
I was kinda lucky though I managed to get to the sea before the rain got to me. Don't you guys hate it too when it rains on your holiday?
Well, don't mind the mild rant up there, I actually love the rain. It's a good excuse to put on something with sleeves at least.
I'm really not a summer person, I don't go out when sun is up so most people around me don't even notice I'm here, since they usually do the opposite... Like I'm not a summer person I'm not a morning person either. I don't really get morning people, either. I mean how can it be so nice to get yourself out of the warmth of your bed? And besides what can you do at the early hours? I mean there's nothing on TV in the morning....
So here I am at our summer house, where the civilization just arrived with a slow internet connection, but hey, I'm not gonna complain about that one, better than nothing, eh? The day starts at 11, or 12 for me, I wake up and just read some books in the bed or watch a dvd before I dress myself up near 1 PM, and get downstairs for some breakfast. While fully loading myself up with whatever I can find to eat, I watch Rachael Ray and Ellen DeGeneres re-runs, in given order. Martha is on too but I find her to be too cold for my taste.
They finish sometime like 4 PM and then I come online, aimlessly lurk around and watch some vids at Youtube...
Finally around 6PM my friends come and drag me out to the sea, literally. And then the most anticipated time of the day arrives: The NIGHT. It's when the fires are lit at the beach, when we drink, and sing at the top of our lungs. Yeah, I discovered when I'm drunk I start thinking my voice is splendid... ![]()

And the days go by like this... All I'm doing is killing time while I wait for the university replacements are announced. I'm almost sure that I made it to where I wanted but if I want to enroll, I have to wait till they officially announce it. I hate waiting, too.
Alright I won't bore you guys anymore with the mighty list of what I hate, since this blog is starting to be some kind of a therapy session for me lol!
But don't you agree that the summer is way overrated with all the joy and cheerfullness and all... It's like a surprise party that I really don't want to attend.. And yeah, I don't like parties either! ![]()

PS. Lots of things changed around here this year, some people left, some people joined...
If you're one of the ones who left, goodbye, and take care,
and if you're new, don't be shy, drop me a line.
And the others, I missed all and each one of you, it's good to be back, at last!! ![]()

*Knock, knock* How's everyone doin'?
Well, the title sums it all up. Before learning how you guys are, I'm gonna give the scoop on my life ..=)) Only ninetysomething days left for the big test for me, dates are announced, the first part being on 15 June and the second following a week after, 22 June. I gotta admit, I've started to feel tense, more than I thought I would ever feel, and the workload has even become harder (was it even possible?!?!?!)
So lately my life has been determined by my immediate needs and studying. I'm at school 8 hours a day, then right after that 2 hours at courses, 8 more hours at weekends each day... But I have to admit, I've never felt this info-loaded in my life...
That's all I can manage for now, stop by and leave a word or two,
Missed you loads!
Love, BuRCu =))
Ho,ho, ho.... Ugh!?
Yeah, that's me, jumping around in the class with a silly Santa hat on my head and hitting my knee to the desk...So, hey everybody,I've been quiet for so long here, but I couldn't have waste the opportunity to sneak in and wish you all a very happy, healthy and awesome New Year!

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.

Glory to God in highest heaven,
Who unto man His Son hath given;
While angels sing with tender mirth,
A glad new year to all the earth.
Martin Luther
A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.
Edgar Guest
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.
Ellen Goodman
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.
G.K. Chesterton

No one ever regarded the First of January with indifference. It is that from which all date their time, and count upon what is left. It is the nativity of our common Adam.

The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to.

And if you do make New Year's Resolutions...(we all know you do...
)
10 Tips for Keeping New Year's Resolutions:
1. Be realistic
The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make your goal unattainable.
2. Plan ahead
Don't make your resolution on New Year's Eve. If you wait until the last minute, it will be based on your mindset that particular day.
3. Outline your plan
Decide how you will deal with the temptation to skip that exercise ****or have one more cigarette.
4. Make a "pro" and "con" list
It may help to see a list of items on paper to keep your motivation strong. Develop this list over time, and ask others to contribute to it. Keep your list with you and refer to it when you need help keeping your resolve.
5. Talk about it
Don't keep your resolution a secret. Tell friends and family members who will be there to support your resolve to change yourself for the better or improve your health. The best case scenario is to find yourself a buddy who shares your New Year's resolution and motivate each other.
6. Reward yourself
This doesn't mean that you can eat an entire box of chocolates if your resolution is to diet. Instead, celebrate your success by treating yourself to something that you enjoy that does not contradict your resolution. If you've been sticking to your promise to eat better, for example, perhaps your reward could be going to a movie with a friend.
7. Track your progress
Keep track of each small success you make toward reaching your larger goal. Short-term goals are easier to keep, and small accomplishments will help keep you motivated. Instead of focusing on losing 30 pounds, say, focus on losing that first 5. Keeping a food diary or a symptom journal may help you stay on track.
8. Don't beat yourself up
Obsessing over the occasional slip won't help you achieve your goal. Do the best you can each day, and take each day one at a time.
9. Stick to it
Experts say it takes about 21 days for a new activity, such as exercising, to become a habit, and 6 months for it to become part of your personality. Your new healthful habits will become second-nature in no time.
10. Keep trying
If your resolution has totally run out of steam by mid-February, don't despair. Start over again! There's no reason you can't make a "New Year's resolution" any time of year.
