The term "Racist" is politically incorrect

The politically correct term is "ethnically insensitive". Thank you and good day.

Talk about sporadic blogs...

Haven't made a blog since late August, haven't made a serious blog in forever. Leaving for Miami for a week, probably won't be on much, not like i've really been on much anyway. If I ever do come on here, it'll be at the Consoles Debate Union.

As far as updates go, I've been doing much of my gaming on PC, you can see my gaming list on my profile if curious. Torchlight being a really good game.

Gaming Update # 67

I've been really busy during the holidays so I haven't been on this site much as I usually am. However, I did make time for gaming like I always do so here's the update:

Halo 3 ODST box art After playing this game for 3 weeks straight it was about time I finished it. I completed the game on the normal difficulty. The last battle was a challenge. It took me three tries.
***SPOILER***

Now that I'm done with the normal difficulty setting should I go on to the heroic setting, or maybe try out legendary? I don't want to make the same mistake as I did with Gears of War 2 when I skipped a difficulty setting and got stuck on a level that was too hard for me. I like to gradually get myself adjusted to the more challenging setting by going from normal, harder, and then hardest.

Persona 3 Fes I haven't played this game much this week since I was so focused on beating Halo 3 ODST. But, I fused two Personas and came up with really weird one. I don't remember the name due to not playing the game since last week.I don't usually fuse personas because I'm always afraid I might not find a persona again if I really like it. But, I should probably fuse more often so I can get the rarer ones.

Demo Impressions

Dante's Inferno box art This has got to be one of the biggest rip offs of any game I've seen in quite some time. The gameplay is very similiar to God of War. It admittedly kind of fun to play though. I just wish it wasn't such a blatant rip off. Will I be getting this game? I don't know at this point. I definitely won't buy this on day one of release as there are literally dozens of games out there that I want to buy right now. It's just not on my list as a game that's a must have.

Now that I've finished one of the games I'm looking foward to playing something different. Last generation I spent 90% of my gaming time playing Final Fantasy XI and I regreat it after missing out on so much. There's a huge back log of games I have yet to complete. I've been thinking about finishing up Resident Evil 4 before I move onto Resident Evil 5, or maybe play both at the same time because I really don't need to play either in any type of order to understand the storyline.

I could've sworn I played more last week, but my memory is very vague when it comes to the beginning of last week. I'm sorry for those who are wanting more info on my gaming. Maybe this week I'll be able to recall what I've been doing since it'll be a less hectic week.

That concludes my gaming update.

Game of the Year 2009 - Nominees

2009 is almost concluding and we had lots of potential candidates, but just like everything only the best ones made it this far. What a great year it was for gamers. Aside from a few disappointing games and some not so pleasant news this year, we have been enjoying some great games across all platforms throughout the whole year.Below are the nominees for the game of the year 2009. I'll split this into two stages: Nominees and and winners.

Action/Adventure

Like in Assassin's Creed, the story revolves around the Animus, a machine which makes it possible for the player to view the genetic memories of protagonist Desmond Miles' ancestors, a long line of assassins. In Assassin's Creed II, the machine is used to view the memories of a young nobleman named Ezio Auditore da Firenze in the late 15th and early 16th century in Italy. The game thus incorporates numerous real-life historic events, places, and people throughout Italian Renaissance history, all of which play a key part in the plot and in Ezio's journey to uncover a hidden conspiracy after the murder of his family. The storyline is intricate, there's depth beyond the main quest, the presentation is wonderful, and the action is incredible at times. We've had some stunning single-player experiences this year, and Ubisoft has given us another gem to add to the list.

InFamous breaks no new ground – at least in terms of gameplay – but it's an exceptional title in its own right and makes a convincing argument that sometimes a game doesn't have to be a revolutionary, artistic landmark in order to deliver a knockout blow. From the beautiful storyboard cut-scenes, to the outstanding voice-work, to the stunning soundtrack, to the compelling plot, the c-lassicc gameplay, the incredible environment; you start to become overloaded by the praiseworthy content. It is by no means flawless, but inFamous is a compelling, incredibly enjoyable video game.

Uncharted 2 sets up the story two years after the events of Drake's Fortune. Similar to the previous story, Nathan Drake's new adventure revolves around an unsolved historical mystery: the trip home of Marco Polo from China in 1292. Uncharted 2 does so many things right, that its problems (a less than perfect cover system, some frustrating combat and unfortunate glitches) are easy to overlook. The single-player adventure packs in so many incredible moments that you'll be talking about it with friends for months, the multiplayer functionality is superb and rammed with content, and the whole game looks beyond anything you'll have seen before. Uncharted 2 should earn the series a place among the very best exclusives to hit the PlayStation.

Fighting

The grandfather of 2D fighting games is a great example of a game where everything just falls into place. The gameplay is polished to an incredible degree and paired with amazing visuals that manage to look unique, yet faithful to the cartoon s.tyle of Street Fighter II. Plenty of additional modes and solid online play ensure that there is plenty more for the home player than just the basic arcade mode that is designed to vacuum in quarters. Add in all the unlockables, achievements and the ability to compete with the best with a persistent Championship Points score and you have a game that has just about everything you could ask for a fighting game.

Tekken 6 is very different than previous games of the series. Because now the characters have been enhanced, and given new abilities. Also like all other Tekken franchises, new characters have introduced. The game is better than you may have anticipated, this is because Tekken 6 creators have introduced modern environment into the game. There are over 40 characters which have to be unlocked in Tekken 6. The only thing that changed in the story mode is that they have made amendments to unlocking the movie after each character finished the story mode. Now it is not the simple old way of just finishing the story mode with one character and their movie is unlocked, but actually you have to rank the player very high in order to unlock the movie. Tekken 6 is the ultimate game for those that like quick challenges, and also for those that have the passion for the one minute sensation for battle.

One of the most apparent things about UFC 2009 Undisputed is the overall quality of the product. The graphics, animation, and sound all have this shine about them that makes it clear that the game went through several rounds of polishing before release. The rock soundtrack is appropriate, and anytime that the player isn't engrossed in a fight (IE: Menu perusing, character creation, etc.) cool little sound clips from UFC matches of the past play in the background, which is a nice touch that gets the player in a great mood to play more of the game. There are also over 80 playable UFC fighters in the game. The visuals are great, the controls are incredibly well-done, and the game is both easy to pick up and satisfyingly deep. If you're a fan of either the UFC or just fighting games in general, this is one complete package that you won't regret picking up.

Puzzle

Jonathan Blow is the mind behind Braid. Blow designed the game as a personal critique of recent trends in game development efforts. He funded the project with his own money and spent three years creating it. David Hellman drew the artwork, which underwent several iterations until it satisfied Blow's desired vision. A preliminary version of Braid without the final artwork won the "Innovation in Game Design" award at the Independent Games Festival in 2006.Those who harbor a fiery passion for the medium of video games shouldn't skip Braid. Still, the inflated price tag in no way impacts the quality of the game; it'll simply leave you wishing that you'd gotten more - perhaps another world or two - for your money. Cost aside, Braid stands yet another fine example of the gaming excellence which can be achieved even in the absence of AAA status and a multi-million dollar budget.

Cuboid is one of those games that may wonder you with its visual transparency and variety. It is a very attractive production, even though there isn't much in the way of environmental diversity. However, there are zero glitches or hitches, and while the simple and straightforward presentation doesn't exactly shine, it's still more than efficient. The bottom line is that Creat Studio didn't spare on the visuals merely because it's a puzzle game, and you will appreciate that attention with clarity and expertness. I would've liked some different backdrops for the puzzles, but other than that, there really isn't much to complain about. The game is stimulating but you'll never feel defrauded. So, if you are looking for a fun game that will test you and stimulate your brain, then you should give Cuboid a try.

RPG

An improved online co-op and a simple easy mode would widen the game's audience substantially. As it is, most people will have to suffer many aggravating deaths before they get good enough to really appreciate the game's detailed, gory combat. Boss fights are a special treat, as each one starts off seemingly impossible – you against a giant steel knight or a huge armored spider – but with tenacity, becomes beatable. Tecmo gives you save points every ten meters and super powerful ninja magic to clear rooms full of enemies if you get stressed. Demon's Souls gives you an ultimatum; get good, or die.

Set in a traditional world of dark fantasy, Dragon Age: Origins finds the realms of Ferelden in peril as the threat of the Blight covers the land at the hands of the powerful Archdemon. As one of the last of the Grey Wardens, an ancient order of guardians, the challenge is to unite the shattered lands, restore peace and slay the corrupted dragon. Dragon Age: Origins is a tough game unless you choose to slide the difficulty down dynamically during the game. Due to the way in which the game scales adversaries around you, you never get to a point where you feel as though you can wade through areas without a challenge. This is a good thing particularly given its stance as a more PC centric RPG experience. It's also worth remembering that Dragon Age is a game that will last, with anything between 50-80 hours of gameplay depending upon how many of the side missions you choose to take on.

It's a bit disappointing that there isn't support for two-player split-screen on the PC. Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions have this functionality, and with the PC version offering both the best visuals and widest range of inputs (fully customizable keyboard-mouse controls and preset gamepad layouts), it's an odd exclusion. Borderlands is not for everyone. It's certainly not Halo, and it's not exactly Diablo either. Instead, it's a stylish hybrid of the two that may not always represent the best each has to offer, but will leave many engrossed and addicted nonetheless.

Sports

If you've played EA Sports game in the past you know what to expect. Slick menus and presentation are par for the pitch in FIFA 10, and there's no reason not to like it. The authenticity is far beyond what I have ever seen in a soccer game period. The amount of leagues available really lets you know just how worldwide a sport soccer actually is, and it's fun to scroll through all the teams just to look at their logos and uniforms.Even though it is going to be a tougher battle in terms of learning the controls and the actual game of soccer, the outcome will be that much more rewarding. Polished presentation, exemplary gameplay and modes, and an endless amount of replay value, FIFA 10 is the new benchmark in console soccer games.

Pro Evo has built it's following on the gameplay. If you go down to your local park you'll see two types of players. One that is decked out in all the latest football gear, shin pads, most expensive football boots and the full Man Utd kit (brand new). He can do loads of kick ups but can't play football to save his life. That's FIFA.Then there's another kid who looks like he's just crawled out of bed with a scruffy t-shirt, wrecked footy trainers and some jogging bottoms that look like he stole them from a tramp. But when he plays, the boy can play and is a match winner. That's Pro. If you want flashy menus, nice music and all the glitz then by all means buy FIFA 10. But if you just want to play and marvel at the best football simulation game to date? Then Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is what you've been looking for all your life.

Forza Motorsport 3 is one of the most beautiful racers on the market, with stunning and painstakingly designed cockpits, gorgeous exteriors and realistic damage; cars will flip over from time to time. The tracks are equally jaw dropping, with miles of road, warm sunlight, white puffy clouds, skyscrapers, realistic reflections in glass and other visual highlights. Plus, the game moves at a brisk pace, depending on the chosen car. Just watching the scenery fly by at over 100 miles per hour, while occasionally looking behind to see the other drivers choke on our exhaust fills us with excitement.Forza Motorsport 3 is without question one of the best racers and a surefire contender for 2009 game of the year. Regardless of where you stand-veteran or rookie-you should give this outstanding effort a test drive.

Shooters

Modern Warfare 2 is certainly an exciting time for gamers, Infinity Ward has returned with a sequel to one of the biggest and fastest selling games in the Call of Duty franchise. The game boasts an exciting multiplayer with new updates and perks as well as environments. The story while not exactly the games biggest plus, it still manage to keep players interested and in pace with what was started in Modern Warfare. The multiplayer from Modern Warfare returns with plenty of new updates to the perks and bonuses of the first game. You'll encounter plenty of scenarios and new maps with DLC along the way to keep you playing. There are plenty of new addictive match types and rule sets. Matchmaking has been improved to allow for quicker games and faster load times. Overall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a game that you don't want to miss, if you're an FPS player then you'll certainly want to get your hands on it.

At the midpoint through Killzone 2, you stand, heavy assault rifle smoking after another terrible, exhilarating firefight against Helghast coercions. Your perceptions are frazzled by the big-budget visuals, mouth dry from the resounding chaos of a savage science-fiction war. As the last red-eyed enemy falls, a solid sense of overkill immerses you. Your tiring struggle as a crack squad is laborious and endless. Bombastic and outstanding as it may be, Killzone 2 throws you head first into pitched war and doesn't let go for a few hours.Killzone 2 is not a rebellion. It was never intended to be. However, it would be folly to disregard its importance, both to the PS3 and the console FPS. The remarkable technical achievement, both visually and in AI, elevates the bar for console games and, just maybe, proposes that all Sony's claims for the 'power of the PS3' were more than just hot air and pompousness after all.

Resistance 2 is definitely in the pantheon of elite games for the Playstation 3 right now and for good reason. The story might have been not as cohesive as the original but they took some interesting steps with it. The multiplayer is fantastic and Insomniac should be awarded for the quality of their servers. While the single-player is somewhat lacking, the multiplayer makes up for it and then some. This is a must own for Playstation 3 owners.Like RFOM, R2 is a straight forward FPS. I don't think I experienced more than a minute of play without getting shot at or attacked by something. But as anyone that's been to an amusement park can tell you, roller coaster rides don't last very long. This game is much shorter than the original. You don't stay in any locale long enough to get bored with it, though it would have been nice to take in the scenery a bit more as you spend a lot of time looking at the back side of the rock you're hiding behind.

Platforms

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time doesn't attempt to break any new ground, it's goal is to add a few new gameplay mechanics and refine the already stellar presentation. This game picks up soon after the events of the first PlayStation 3 adventure, Tools of Destruction.Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is the top tier 3D platformer we expect from the developers; they've delivered another must-own game for anybody with even a passing interest in this type of game. There's a great mix of puzzle solving, platforming and weapons-based combat. Throw in some incredible visuals and funny voice acting and you have one of the best PlayStation 3 games of the year.

The game needs a lot of jumping and toddlers, like an old 2D game. The heroic knight can whack with a sword and a shield to defend himself, He thus makes the action part in the game. The three characters share in any case a lot of variety. With all three at once, I mean that you can switch between three characters. When you encounter some enemies, of course you can keep the knight to get started. Some vigilance is always required, even in this game. Suppose you need to reach from one side to another and a wooden object is above, it is obviously useful to the thief to weave with her grappling hook. If they fall into the deep and not survive, you will be with the other two characters and have to find a solution.Trine has a simple concept that is still very impressive and certainly will provide the necessary challenge. It has action, it has puzzle elements and the necessary climbing.

Game of the Year 2009 [UPDATED]

UPDATES

Any and all updates will be added in green.

Update 12-25-2009

Gears of War 2 ~ I cannot believe I forgot about Gears 2. I thought the campaign was better than the first (especially when it came to story and atmosphere) and the multuiplayer, with bots, was exceptionally enjoyable. The first game had its charm, but aside from some glitches (that I've only heard about and never expereinced) Gears 2 was a markedly better game.

I have decided to do my GOTY awards for 2009 a little early this year. I know it isn't over yet, and I'm expecting some games for Christmas, but it has been quite a while since I've done a meaningful blog and want to get my awards together.

A small note, I do not remember this year's games as well as last year's, but I've tried my best to remember most of the one's I've played. It also doesn't help that I really haven't played very many games at all, let alone games released in 2009.

Here is the list of games I will be working with:

Games from 2009; played and completed:

  • Assassin's Creed II (360)
  • Crayon Physics (PC)
  • Shadow Complex (XBLA)
  • The Sims 3 (PC)

Games from before 2009; played and completed:

  • Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (360)
  • Burnout Paradise (360)
  • Crackdown (360)
  • Devil May Cry (PS2)
  • Gears of War 2 (360)
  • Shivering Isles (PC)

Games from 2009: played by NOT completed:

  • DJ MAX Fever (PSP)

Games from before 2009; played but NOT completed:

  • Battlefield: Bad Company (360)
  • Dead Space (360)
  • Driv3r (PS2)
  • Fuzion Frenzy (Xbox)
  • Prince of Persia (360)
  • Prince of Persia CIassic (XBLA)

I will make any additions as required and add an "[UPDATE]" tag to the blog title, but don't think things will really change that much.

AWARDS

There will not be an "overall" winner from me, just like last year. This is because no game is capable of being the "best" overall for a year.

Best exclusive game(s)

Crackdown, Devil May Cry, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Shadow Complex + Gears of War 2

All these games are fantastic, all for their own reasons. It would be very difficult for me to choose a "winner" out of the four. I enjoyed them all almost equally. However, the one that stood out the most from the rest would probably be Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. It struck me as an incredibly fun game with a hugely unique concept that was really well-integrated, despite all the Banjo fan criticisms. A very solid game that was much fun to play.

Best multiplatform game

Assassin's Creed II, Burnout Paradise and Shivering Isles

Again, all these games are great, but the one game that stands out quite easily among them is the one I waited quite a while for and was completely fulfilled with. Assassin's Creed II wins for best multiplat game of the year. It is a visually stunning game with a crap-load of stuff to do. Not to mention that it built on the previous iterations formula amazingly well, and made for an amazingly improved sequel.

Best artistic graphics

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Prince of Persia and Shivering Isles

There is a clear-cut winner in this category, hands down, despite the quality of the other two nominations. Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is an artistic masterpiece, that is very bright, very pleasant to look at (especially in HD) and extraordinarily colourful, the exact opposite of most games to be released this generation; from brown town.

I would like to give an honourable mention to the other two nominations. Prince of Persia was another gem to look at, and Shivering Isles was quite unique in terms of design.

Best technical graphics

Assassin's Creed II, Dead Space and Battlefield: Bad Company

Another clear-cut winner. Assassin's Creed II. Absolutely stunning environments, animations and character models.

Most boring game

Dead Space and Driv3r

Ugh... I wish I didn't have to make this category, but it is necessary, if only to talk about the winner. Dead Space. I watched the anime, loved it, highly expected the game to be almost the same thing, but possibly even better. Then I get into playing it and ugh... repetitive level design, overly predictable scares and bleh horror elements. Granted, the game is good (in contrast to Driv3r being not good at all), but I just couldn't get into it. I'll give it another chance down the road, but only after I have nothing left to play. Definitely a hit-or-miss game. I don't "hate" it, but it definitely would benefit from some better/more-varied level design and much less predictable "jump scares" and more atmosphere. It is a lot like the first Assassin's Creed... a lot of potential, but not that well executed.

Most surprising game(s)

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Shadow Complex and Shivering Isles + Gears of War 2

Again, all the nominated games fulfill the category quite well, but there is a winner out of them all. Shadow Complex definitely takes the title as "most surprising." When I first saw Shadow Complex getting good reviews, and heard it was a 2D action-platformer "reminiscent" of Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night, I knew I had to try it. I downloaded the trial, and within 5 minutes I bought it. Absolutely fantastic game, worthy of being called a "successor" to the Metroivania/Castleroid styIe games, and very much so an "improvement" over Super Metroid. A game that definitely has more quality content than many $60 games.

I was surprised that Gears 2 multiplayer would include bots for people like me who dislike playing games online with other people and loved Timesplitters. I was even more surprised that I put in almost 100 hours into the multiplayer alone, over 350 matches.

Most mediocre/decent game

Prince of Persia and Crackdown

Both nominees are very decent, or "average." They have an air of "mediocrity" about them, while still remaining fun. There was quite a bit of room for improvement, but it remained a good idea nonetheless. Crackdown was far closer to "great" than it was to "average," but its overwhelming repetitiveness was somewhat detracting from the experience, even though it was incredibly fun to kick cars like soccer balls and do other great things. Prince of Persia however is the winner in terms of mediocrity. It was a good concept, spread out far too thin within the total length of the game (which I haven't finished yet), but still remained pretty entertaining. And also for once, chose a unique religious tradition to build off of: Zoroastrianism.

Most disappointing game(s)

Dead Space, Driv3r and DJ MAX Fever

This is a hard decision to make. But in the end Driv3r takes it. Dead Space was pretty disappointing, and DJ MAX Fever was pretty damn disappointing... but Driv3r almost ruined my love for the original Driver games on the PS. I've wanted to play Driv3r ever since it came out (2004), and only recently decided to get it because I thought that it "was about time." Boy what a mistake that was. What an incredible waste of money and time. Driver and Driver 2 were hard and were pretty broken, but had some very redeeming aspects about them, especially some of the missions. Not a single mission in Miami in Driv3r was "fun." It was a complete waste of time. The gunplay was broken and weak. The mission design was terrible. And the story was quite meh. The driving, which what the game should have been centrered around, and not remaking GTAIII, was the only good part. But unlike Driver and Driver 2 back in the day, I just couldn't get into driving around in a pretty lifeless world looking for police chases. I was very disappointed in Driv3r, especially after 5 years of wrestling with whether to get it or not. I would love to see it through to the end, just to say as a Driver fan that I did it... but **** it if I could make it through.

Most improved sequel

The Sims 3 and Assassin's Creed II + Gears of War 2

This isn't even a contest. Assassin's Creed II is the winner. The series went from "pretty good concept, lacklustre execution" to "amazing execution of an exceptional concept." Everything about II was better than the first. There was variety, depth, customizability and always something to do. Amazing game, and would definitely be a contendor for my overall "Game of the Year," but given games like Shadow Complex and Nuts & Bolts, I just couldn't make that decision.

That is my GOTY list for 2009. Hope you enjoyed it.

alext_b STILL LIVES.

Yes, I'm still alive. And no, I wasn't waiting for a princess to come and wake me up with a kiss My last blog post is date Oct '08 and I can't believe it's been a year since I last logged in. Glances at the inbox though, keep me glued to reality. Why have I been away?

Well, first of all, when I first left GS there was close to zero activity, and I'd found other places to go to. Plus, I was pretty busy back then and quite literally addcited to GS so I used to end up wasting a lot of time. I'm still busy but the addiction is no longer there...

Secondly, my system back then was old, really old, and couldn't run anything new. But now I have a new rig and decided to at least come to GS to take a look at what's floating around, and lost to my urge to log in

My rig: Intel Core2 Duo E7500 2.93 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1 gb, with 2 gigs of ram and 1 TB HDD. I kept telling my dad that 2 gigs ram won't be enough but he said that I can get an upgarde when I need to. Same for the CPU. The GPU should last for a while but when it falls short I can just bridge it with SLI.

The first game I played was Assassin's Creed, something I'd bought a few months after it was released and was just waiting to play it I intend to go get some games this weekend, which is why I looked up GS.

I know my last blog post said this too, but once again I'd like to know what's going on around here...A short update on action/racing games would be welcome. And please let me know if there's enough activity around here to sustain me or not. All this, only if you guys still remember me...

Getting Ready for The Holidays

Been a tough and boring semester at my university.... a day didnt happen where I didnt wish it was atleast mid November already so it could almost be Thanksgiving, and then right after it would be December and soon after WinterBreak so I could finnally take a break and relax back home with the family

Good news is its already almost mid November and in exactly two weeks Im finnaly going home for Thanksgiving to see my parents after 3 whole months. Turkey + Gravy +Family + VideoGames = LOVE

It's funny how when you're with them you cant wait to get away and be free, but yet after a long while you really do miss them, and what a great way to make up for lost time with some turkey

Sionara, Gamespot

I've been gone for months. A lot has been going on. I realize that I should probably just let Gamespot die, as I haven't been on the forums (hardcore) in forever. But I just wanted to tell everybody... Thanks.

Gamespot is one of the core reasons my life is now as wonderful as it is now. It is one of the core reasons I went from being a wanna-be priest, to a devout Atheist. And my becoming an Atheist has effected every moment of my life since, a gigantic domino effect that has led to now, where I have a fantastic girlfriend, plenty of friends at school, and have honestly never been happier in my life.

I guess I should explain a little more in depth. One and a half years ago (I'm rounding) in April-May '08, I wanted to be a Jesuit priest. I was extremely religious, prayed as much as I could, and was absolutely positive about everything I believed. But I was unhappy with life. I hated school, kids made fun of me, but I always blew it off, saying that I was getting closer to heaven, I would be out of this **** and in a seminary soon, yadda yadda yadda. So I got on Gamespot, as I liked videogames, and found a particular interest in the Off Topic forum.

Often times, I would get into religious debates with people, where I was a closed-minded idiot and always thought I was right, never really taking into consideration what the Atheists were saying. But then, I started to take it into consideration. Stuff started making sense.

Oh ****

I began to think about everything, and soon by early June, I had converted into an Atheist. Funny how fast things went by when I opened up and listened. But that summer was by far the worst summer of my life. Maybe it was the sudden jerk in religious beliefs, or the after effects of such a lousy school year that had made me slightly antisocial. I cried a LOT, and to pass the time by I would go on the Gamespot Forums, and stay up until 5 in the morning. Sometimes I would even venture towards the dreaded... *gulp* ... teh 4 chanz

Basically I went down a downward spiral that summer, but Gamespot kept me up. You can even look back into my blogs, and see all my emo posts that summer But the school year came, I got social, and I started to love life again. I slowly began to drift away from Gamespot. By far, it was my favorite school year ever. I had gotten used to my Atheist lifestyle, and everything seemed so much simpler. I made tons of friends, some Atheist so I wasn't totally alone at this Catholic school.

Fast forward to this past summer, I never even logged onto my Gamespot account when I got onto Gamespot. I still played games, checked out reviews and read what other people said on the forums, but never really logged in to say anything. Then about midway through that summer, I started talking to this girl... We'll call her "Jane"

She's been in my class, but we never really talked. She seemed to be too popular for me, and she even admits she always just thought I was a shy guy. But one fateful night she chatted me up on Facebook, said she got a cell phone, and asked for my number. I thought it was pretty random, but we'd talked before and I used to have the biggest crush on her best friend, so we would always talk about her. Now it seemed she had a thing for me.

We started texting, badda bing, this school year came, we admitted we liked each other, the stage was set. The night I asked her out, we still weren't a couple yet, she invited me to come over to her house to meet her family.

I was scared poopless at first, but everything went great, the parents loved me, and I asked her out by the end of the night. She of course said yes.

And ever since then, it's been magic. I've never been happier in my life. And I feel I owe it all to Gamespot, for starting this domino effect. And now that I "have a life", haha, I probably will not be returning here very much at all. So I just thought I would post this final blog, to let you guys that care know how I'm doing. I'm doing perfect. I can already tell this school year will be a thousand times better then last. And though I know only 2 or 3 people will read this, I just wanted to post this.

As a thanks to Gamespot, and a thanks to all you Atheists that helped knock some sense into me. A thanks to all the people that helped me out in my angsty, emo moods during my "transitional summer". You know who you are.

Sionara, Gamespot.

I did come on here to check out the games that I own and games that are due to release, but that's about it. I don't know why all of a sudden I felt like blogging, but anyway...I'M ALIVEEE! I can tell by the look of my profile that alot of people have left Gamespot, and you know what? I don't blame them. But i'm back, I guess. I just wanted to let you guys know that i'm doing great. Do any of you know sayuri14 on here? Yeah, she hasn't been on here much, either. But I think I forgot to tell you guys about her. It all started on October 9th ..

.. Four years ago. A mate of mine told me about an Internet site on games. He'd been bugging me for a while and telling me about a certain "reporter" writing reviews for GS who liked exactly the same games as he did. I never really agreed on what a game should be with most GS reporters. But after reading a few user reviews I started reading more of those which gave me a better resource then any "professional review" ever could.

Not soon after I got into contact with a few GS members who told me about the union community. Groups of gamers liking a certain game, game character game Sty le. That's where the fun started for me. At first most people I ran into were Americans. And we all know how annoying they can be But in time I learned there were others like me. (scary thought isn't it? )

I soon forgot about the main GS forums and started posting in these unions. The OSUwas the first union I joined. And many followed after that. Places like Squaresoft union, Mafia Union and They Came To Play each kept me posting for a while. But I'll have to admit. One union kept me here most. The SKS I'm actually still a part of it. Even after turning my back on all those other unions. But each of these unions and many others brought me good times and many laughs.

But every union is just as good as it's members. A good leader is great. Active officers are a blessing. But enthusiastic members are what makes a union worth coming back to. I guess this blog is mostly me saying, Thank you for a good time. No worries. I'm not saying good bye. Or better yet. Please worry. I'm not saying good bye

Some days I come here and find out none of my posts made sense. Some of you might say those days are most days. And you may be right. But I come here to make some fun. If I manage to make a fool out of myself and get a laugh while doing so that's a bonus.

Governor vs. Governator

Hi blog! I've missed you.

So in about a month or so I will be moving from New Jersey to Southern California, for a job I just got that may or may not involve being a graphics programmer for a video game developer. This will probably be a big change for me, as I will no longer have the comforts of gross snowy winters and Wall Street douchebags on their Blackberry's. So I've started to make some comparisons, and the first I've done is governors. As you surely know the great state of California is ruled with an iron fist by the governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the New Jersey corner we have Governor Jon Corzine. Let's see how they stack up!

Ah-nold

  • Fiscally conservative
  • Socially liberal
  • Has travelled back in time (3 times!)
  • Kicked a predatory alien's ass in the middle of the jungle, with nothing but his wits and a knife
  • Was the first male to be pregnant and give birth
  • He did not in fact have a tumor, contrary to certain allegations
  • Once shot his wife and said "consider this a divorce!"
  • Saved the US from a nuclear attack by terrorist group "The Crimson Jihad"
  • Once fell out off a plane, landed in a swamp, and got right back up
  • Versatile enough to star in a smash holiday comedy, despite being such a badass

Corzine

  • Once almost killed himself in a car accident

So there you have it! Ah-nold wins by a landslide!

Wow it's been a while!

Man o' man. Big changes have happened in my life since my last post. I moved to frggin' Florida from Jersey! I've been here for about four months now and the theme parks are awesome, but I seriously miss my friends. Finding a job here is tough considering full grown adults are taking the burger flipping jobs someone my age should have just because the economy is so bad.

For a tid bit on games going on for me, I've been playing a helluvalotta Madden 10 lately. Much better game than Madden 09 overall, especially online. I recently got back into COD4: MW. Still a great game. That's all for now really, just getting back into the whole blogging thing. ;P
