I'm back

Well guys, i'm back on gamespot at last, things seem to have changed quite a bit on the boards since I was last here. There are many different reasons why I left, it started out with a bit of computer trouble, which I then sorted out. But when I got back online I just never really went back on. I think it's been about a month now that I've been missing, but once again i'm still flooded with coursework (Macbeth, god I hate that crap) and I've also joined the schoool rugby team (we made it past the semi-final yesterday ) which takes up quite a bit of my time with training 3 or 4 times a week and a match almost every Saturday. I'm back hopefully for good but I still wont be on as much as I used to and no, as one of my friends suggested, it's nothing Warcraft related

Holy ****!!!!

In my last blog I'd said that a couple of trees had been uprooted and cars flipped. It's worse now! A guys been killed when a tree crushed his car, roads are flooded, trees are blocking the road, a lorry was flipped and a boat capsized causing five missing people! Hopefully the worst is over but to be honest we've never had this type of weather before where I live.

Just thought I'd post an update

The End.

Well, this is it. In no less than a couple of weeks time, the year 2006 will end, and 2007 will start. In this blog I am going to express my thoughts on the year, and what it has been like for me.

What have been the main highlights of the year?

Well, obviously the main highlight has been the jump from the current generation, to the next generation. Early on I was struggling to make up my mind on which console I would get, I'd always intended to purchase a PS3, but early on I was rumbled by Sony's shock announcement that the PS3 was going to be delayed in Europe until March 2007. So I was left with no other choice but to forget about a PS3, and choose another console. I eventually decided to get an upgraded computer, my last one was at the end of it's life and just couldn't keep up to my expectations. Have I regretted my decision? Not one bit.

What has disappointed you?

As mentioned above, the thing that let me down the most was the delay of the Playstation 3, but there have been a few others. Earlier in the year, I had been looking forward to the Tokyo game show. I was hoping to see many games, such as Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, and some others. Devil May cry 4 was interesting, showing a wealth of gameplay and in-game graphics. But the rest, failed to stand out. Resident Evil 5 in particular. We were shown absolutely nothing. They showed us ONE teaser at the e3 gameshow. After that, they have said nothing of much interest. To be honest, nothing at TGS had that "WOW" factor. It was mediocre at best.

Has this year lived up to your expectations?

Honestly? Well.....no. It hasn't. I was expecting much more than this.  I thought this year would be full of hidden shocks and surprises, with more trailers being released for the PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii, as the developer's go their full length to win over people. Instead it has een one of the slowest, most boring years in gaming for a long time. Microsoft released their console early to get in the sales first. So no surprises their. Sony apparantly had a faulty batch, which meant absolutely nothing for Europe. Then there was Nintendo, who decided to play it cool and keep the Wii under wraps, trying to keep the public interested. But to be honest, since so little was revealed I lost interest, if it hadn't been for the delay in the PS3, I would've probably stayed away from the Wii.

Last question, what are you hopes for the incoming year?

In short, what I'd like to see is no more delays from Sony, I want to see them put some effort into a european launch. Secondly, I'd like to see more good games for the Wii, the launch list apart from a couple of games, isn't that overly exciting. Next, would be more thought being put into the PS1 emulator for the PSP, not one person who has a PSP wouldn't like to relive the old PS1 gems. That's about it.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to post your thought's and feelings on any of the points I've mentioned.

My names Stephen and i'm 15. I'm a massive fan of the resident evil games but I didn't like the film at all. I also like devil may cry, metal gear solid, legend of zelda, mario, Final fantasy and metroid games. I've had an account since April but only became active in August. I love getting emblems since they make my profile look better. So if your baffled by my choice of games then its probably all for an emblem!^_^ Check my tracking list for what I really own.
