I'm so tired
yeah, i know. Haven't blogged in a while. Haven't been on in a while. Yeah, I promised being more active once new South Park came. Yeah, I've been watching all the new episodes (seen 'em all including tonight's hilarious HSM riff). But somehow, I haven't been coming to this site.
This all culminates in me receiving a message that I've been MIA from my Matt Stone guide. What the hell? I cannot recall any submissions to any of my guides in forever. Yet somehow, I keep getting messages that the "staff" had to come in and clear out my queue because someone had to wait more than a week for a submission response. My hope is that it is some new user who just wants some recognition but trying to call me MIA seems something that a more experienced user would do. Plus, I checked the guide and all of the trivia and notes and I see no changes at all from what was previously there. Maybe I'm wrong but I have a gut feeling that I'm not.
So, I had to reply with a response for my absense so I could retain the guide. Seriously, I enjoy the site but there are other things going on in my life like my job and school that take more priority than accepting and rejecting someone else's subs. I know the responsibility of being an editor and I still want to keep my guide. But if this continues, I might just give up for good.
Anyway, I've been playing Guitar Hero World Tour. I love it. A little bit easier on guitar but the drums are the real joy. It's a great game. I would totally recommend it.
Finally, I've been loving the new episodes of South Park. They've been excellent. My favorite would have to be "About Last Night..." as of now but that may change. I'm gonna try working on some more subs for that but I don't know if I'll have the ambition.
Happy Birthday to Me!!!
Yeah for me.
Today's my birthday.
This is another conceited blog brought to you by the one, the only simpsonzfreak13!
The "Freak" Speaks
Yes, it's the blog you've been waiting for for more than 4 MONTHS!!!
To put it plainly, I missed this site. For all the knocks it receives, there's just something about it that makes you want to come back every time. In my case, it would be the South Park forum. There are so many awesome people over there talking about an equally awesome show. While it may be missing some things that made it truly great (come back fufu and henrynhenry!), the core is still there. And for that I am appreciative. Undoubtedly when the season returns, expect my full fledged attendance and possible episode discussions(if i get the news first that is, lol.)
I'm also intrigued by the new TV.com redesign. The improvements made to Gamespot are clearly well-done. So, I would assume all the new, shiny, and probably unnecessary add-ons will be a welcome addition. My favorite promise is that TV.com will start recognizing its members more. Being the narcisstic person I am (haha), this sounds interesting.
Finally, lots of stuff have happened since my last blog and I mean LOTS. A wise blogger would not bore you with all the details and just give a summarized possibly bullet pointed rundown of the major events...I wonder.
- I quit my old job and found a new one that I enjoy so much better and that stresses me out a lot less.
- Had a nice vacation at a lakehouse which was great.
- Got myself a nice, fancy, newfangled MP3 player.
- Pre-ordered Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Wii.
And most importantly...
- Welcomed my new baby sister into the world.
That's all everyone. Take care.
My Guitar Hero Wishlist
Guitar Hero has become somewhat of a phenomenon recently. It has captivated gamers and non-gamers alike and made quite a cultural impact. I mean, South Park did an episode devoted to it. But everytime a new Guitar Hero comes out, there are great songs included yet people complain about the absence of others. Thus forming a wishlist. So, I have taken it upon myself to create my own based upon not only my musical preference but songs that would be a perfect fit for any Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) game. So here it is, my top 10 most wanted songs for the next Guitar Hero. No Stairway taken into account.
#10- Icky Thump by The White Stripes (Probably one of the best rock songs to come out in a while)
#9- Can't Stop by The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Eh...it's got a good beat.)
#8- Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana (Love 'em or hate 'em, this has to be in one of these games)
#7- Party Hard by Andrew W.K. (GH needs a song to just rock out and have fun with) or What Would Brian Boitano Do? by DVDA (If Rock Band can have Timmy, Guitar Hero should have Brian.)
#6- Joker and the Thief by Wolfmother (Although you can rock this one on Rock Band, it's a better fit on Guitar Hero)
#5- Up Around the Bend by Creedence Clearwater Revival (For that really good oldie song...)
#4- Where the River Flows by Collective Soul ( A personal favorite of mine)
#3- Enter Sandman by Metallica (Metal!)
#2- Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm (Another personal favorite of mine but even though it's a cover of a MJ song, this is a great cover that rocks and has a neat solo)
And #1 we have a 3-way tie Thunderstruck by AC/DC, You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC, and Eruption by Van Halen
There you go. My list. I'm open to any edits, comments, criticisms, as I realize that choosing 10 songs really limits the range of good songs. But let me know.
P.S. I planned on posting this earlier but I used a "forbidden" word when describing "Up Around the Bend so I changed it to "oldie". I'll give you a hint. It rhymes with "pass sick".
Two Years
Today is my two year anniversary at TV.com. Yeah, I'm shocked too. But right over there ------>
says that it's true. Man, has time flown by.
