Although many people have different opinions about William Hung, but most people never see him as a person first other than just judging him by how and why he got famous from American Idol.

He was never a singer but just a civil engineering student at the University of California Berkeley to begin with. Either you hate him or love him, he waited in line for his audition just like everyone else did. Everyone there had an equal opportunity to showcase what they have or don’t have. The only difference was that he had the magnetism to win millions of people’s hearts in just roughly about 90 seconds! Now that’s quite an amazing achievement if you come to think of it, regardless if he’s Chinese or of his nationality of origin.

So, talented or not, would you refuse an offer from a major label who wanted to sign you up? I know I won’t say no if the terms and conditions are right.

And it’s not true that ALL Asians can’t sing. There are a handful of Chinese artists out there who can indeed sing and compose songs in English for all to enjoy. They’re just simply being overshadowed by those who can’t sing making them harder to be discovered.

There are many great guitarists I admire. But Carlos Santana is the only one who can make me move. A guitar player’s music I can dance to.

Santana’s music is not your ordinary 4/4 time feel but a variety of moods and tempo changes. His guitar has a wide range of notations anywhere from a whole note, triplets, to 32nd notes and are improvised with every rhythmic riffs and patterns possible.

It’s the blend of Carlos Santana’s emotions, passion, and the distinctive sound of his guitar that takes me away every time I listen to him. And the Santana band is like adding a set of monster wheels to a Hummer.

In my opinion, “The Lady in Red” by Chris De Burgh is the musical Mona Lisa. The color of Chris De Burgh’s voice blends perfectly with the soothing melody he has composed. The words are as tender and memorable as the first kiss. The arrangement and the master recording compliment the beauty of its content. And it can set the ambient to just about any romantic moments in our lives. It is simply a master piece.
