The white stripes are a sibling (or husband and wife, who actually knows?) duo, and they rock! pure, real rock! Jack White is the guitarist/pianist and lead vocalist,and Meg is the drummer (drummers rock, wooo!)
Their music is simply, brillaint. Threre's not loads of effects, and it's a comfort that in this day and age, there are still real music makers out there, people who can make brillaince without a load of technical effects. Jack's voice is so funky, it's hard to describe, he can be soft, hard, high and low, he's just a multi talented vocalist, and Meg can sing as well, check out "in the cold cold night" from 2002's "Elephant" to see what i mean.
I think they are underapreciated because people want all these effects in the usic they listen to, but that's not music, it's a computer, it's not natural rock and roll, the White Stripes are, and many thanks to the late, great John Peal for championing their cause and brining them into the limelight,roll on june 7th, roll on next album!
