In the not-to-distance future, where there will have time-capsules of previous generations, let us hope that when they uncover the early seventies they will find Parliament-Funkadelic recordings. If for no other reason than the musical quality, frontman George Clinton and P-Funk provided a funk-opera through the showmanship and the conception of the Mother Ship Connection. With members such as Sir Nose D'Void of Funk, Starchild,Dr.Funkenstein,Bootzilla and The Brides the music and the lyrical content proved that Funk had merit. This release "Mothership Connection(Star Child)" is an excellent example. Clinton and his merry funksters blend many influences in the song. Jazz, R&B, Gospel and Blues carry through the jam, but Clinton always remembered to "Keep It On The One" An enjoyable track that will erase any misconceptions about good music not being made in the Seventies.

Ms Kidjo's album has a timeless quality about it. All the selections touched and moved me to tears. Although I could not understand her language, the spirit of her message come though loud and clear. One does not have to be of African descent to appreciate her music, the musicians on ther album deserves as much credit as Ms Kidjo. I would recommend this album to anyone who wishes to hear the joy and sadness of this gifted artist, kudos to Kidjo! Browncentaur2000@yahoo.com
