Blogging from the road!

Today, I'm sitting in a comfy hotel room in Madisonville, Texas. We are in the Lone Star State for the OU/Texas A&M football game later tonight (GO SOONERS!). It's nice to have a short weekend trip to get away from the stress of the pending election, school, and all that other stuff we all do every single day. I had a THIRD job interview Thursday night - looks like this one might be serious about hiring me. He wanted to meet my hubbie, which had never happened to me before - interesting. I think it is mainly because we would be relocating and he wants to make sure that is viable for both of us.

OK, back to business, I want to remind everyone to vote on Tuesday, November 7th. Think your vote doesn't count? A recent race in Oklahoma was decided by less than ten votes. Yes, you do count! And besides, if you don't vote, you can't complain later about those who win So regardless of which party you are, get out and vote on Tuesday!!!

See you at the polls!

Hope you enjoy your game, Annette! Would you have to move very far if you accept this job??? Good luck with that, and Happy Election Day to all the other "Yanks" out there.

Have fun Annette! It's compulsary to vote in all elections here (except local). What election is it? State?

GO SOONERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with the job quest. Funny, your being in a town called Madisonville(TX) and I live in Madisonville(not TX). Have fun and I always vote! It's a duty and privilege.

Rochelle, Nope, we would only move about 20 miles to the east...but the bank wants their top people to live in the county where the bank is located. I understand that but WOW, what a change. If I take the job, we are thinking about a house in the country - me, a city girl and all. Might know something for certain on Monday.

Interesting, Lozza, that voting is compulsary. The election I'm involved in is a district judge race for our county but there's lots of other races on the ballot, our governor, congressman, and a couple of state questions.

Hey Suz, We saw the end of the LSU game, wow, that was a nail-biter as was our game. That's too funny that you're in Madisonville. The Texas one had a population of 4,100 - how big is your town?

Yep, and you can get a heavy fine, and if you don't pay that a jail sentence.

MUCH MUCH SMALLER! It probably had a pop of about 900 before Katrina. With the influx of New Orleans and St. Bernard folks, we are up to about 2500 to 3000. The junior high went from 378 to 543 in the 3 months after Katrina and this year it is 645. LSU is great for nail-biters The Saints did awesome too They are number one is Southeastern Division of the NFL! GO SAINTS GO

I wish I could have switched places with you. Madisonville is about an hour drive from my hometown. This week in Washington has been the absolute worse with all of the rain and flooding that went on. Hope you had fun!
