Beyoncé has said that she made the album in just two weeks, which might make people wonder whether the album is worthy of surpassing her #1 debut Dangerously In Love. It doesn't even sound close to being made in two weeks. After finishing filming her film "Dreamgirls" Beyoncé said she had so much emotion inside and what is on her sophomore effort is the things she felt Deena, her character, should have said. With that out of the way, the album does have plenty of highlights. You know you can never go wrong with a Jay-Z/Beyoncé opening number. The addictive first single, the late-70's insipred "Deja Vu" is less monstrous than her super-smash hit "Crazy In Love" but it's a worthy single. Her second single, the rock-inspired, hard-hitting, horn-blowing "Ring The Alarm" shows a side of Beyoncé we have never seen before. The fuming vocalist clearly states "Ring the alarm/I've been through this too long/But I'll be damned if I see another chick on his arm", it's another worthy single. Beyoncé her moments, wth a dirty, classic soul groove at her back, Beyoncé plays the role of the "Suga Mama", which is sure to make classic soul divas such as Tina Turner proud. The second Jay-Z/Beyoncé track "Upgrade U" Beyoncé is stating that she can upgrade her man, introduce him to new things, make his life style better and make his reputation greater. This is arguably the most potent track on the album, with super-producer Swizz Beatz on production. in a gorgeous, lightly swinging Stargate arrangement on "Irreplaceable," Beyoncé explains what to do when things don't work out beginning with "Everything you own in the box to the left." which is a cool, relaxing R&B/Pop number which is sure to blast off on radio. The Neptunes-produced track "Kitty Kat" is a relaxing rainbow-coloured track which sounds similar to songs on Kelis' three first album. "Freakum Dress" is also a another winner for the clubs. So B'Day isn't a complete disaster, but it does sound like she is in a hurry throughout the album, but she has clearly become one of the most entertaining and supreme among her contemporaries, and less hope album number three will showcase her maturing growth as R&B's most popular female of today.

Pink is obviously a beautiful girl with a soulful voice. I thought although some websites say that she wasn't happy with the music she was making, I loved her music. I think personally she return to the forefront of R&B because she was doing well. I loved her first album and parts of her second album but I wan't big on the third album. I just hope she can return to the R&B genre coz I believe she can do relatively well there. I loved her hair at the start when it was pink and then blonde. She should stick with blonde hair.

Quite a superb female East Coast Rap album. It is slightly less gangsta than 2003's La Bella Mafia but in many ways it's better. It has a better bunch of songs than La Bella Mafia and her wordplay is noticably similar to the late Notorious BIG. She still mentions and samples her mentor but that's how The Queen Bee came about. My favourite tracks are "Spell Check" "Lighters Up" and "Shut Up". Superb! This album is a must-have and one of the best female all rap albums of 2005. Sutnning, Queen Bee!

This is definately a side of Ciara we haven't witnessed. She has done a 180 turn from Crunk to releasing her inner soul. And I gotta tell ya, the girl can go deep! She looks and sings with such confidence with no banging Crunk beats but a nice soothing R&B soul touch. And it does her nicely!

What a comeback for Mr Lover Lover! Brilliant collabos with G-Unit's Olivia and the Pussycat Dolls Nicole and Wil-I-Am from the Black Eyed Peas. This album does not disappoint, banging with fresh new Reggae and Ragga influenced songs with elements of R&B. This shows Mr Boombastic at one of his best in recent years. In my book this is one of his best albums since 2000's Hot Shot. Go on, Shaggy!
