I *heart* Microsoft!

No, that's not a typo, I love Microsoft!

It's not a favorable or popular opinion in most circles, but I'm fine with that. My two favorite gaming systems are the Xbox 360 and my PC which runs Microsoft Windows Vista. Is this an attempt at gaining MS's favor and perhaps getting some freebies, no (though anything sent my way I won't reject )

I came to this realization yesterday after having finally got past a super easy boss in Star Wars Force Unleashed, for some reason I was completely stuck at this point for a long time and I'm still kinda unsure as to why, then I completed 6 levels last night and earned 12 more Achievements... and here's where the love was realized.

After having played Mass Effect a while back, discovering and loving the Achievement system I bought a new PC with Vista, and after getting used to the constant prompts for security I really like the layout, the ALT+Tab view options, navigation, heck even the backgrounds that came with the system. I especially enjoy how my old games look refreshed and renewed, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic looks better and plays better today then it did a few years ago when I first played (of course that's my processor and graphics card more than anything). But I put the 360 on the backburner so to speak, because I had this new gaming rig to play with.

Having finally surpassed this ridiculously easy boss in SW Force Unleashed and finally moving on (and not falling off bridges etc) as the Achievements started to pour in I started to enjoy the game more and more. As you all are well aware, when you get really stuck in game, it's not fun, it's frustrating... I already had the game on my To-Sell list for Ebay! Believe me! But the Achievements brought me back in. I really am terribly addicted to them. It's sad, isn't it?

This brings me back to the topic of this blog post, I really do love Microsoft. Yeah they may be a greedy, manipulative, bazillion-dollar monopoly who crushes their competitors without even the slightest blink, but hey, they do make some fun and very useful products. (there go my freebies)

Now just add Achievements to the Xbox Originals and you're GOLDEN! (Really just Dreamfall and Jade Empire, maybe Destroy All Humans? )

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, Microsoft is evil, but on the other, it definitely is the best platform for PC gaming, hands down. In either case, welcome to the PC gaming world It's good to see someone come the other way, rather than go to console for a change.

Welcome back to Gamespot, Suzabbe! \

Yes, achievement points are awesome. They really make me get more out of many games than I ordinarily would. I've replayed a bunch of games just to get more points, and had more fun with them because of it. Also, my higher gamerscore gives me a feeling of smugness whenever I see you online, which is nice.

My friends and I were recently discussing how we loved our 360s. I've been a gamer for over 20 years and it is (by far) my all-time favorite console. Achievements, in particular, I've rather enjoyed...no comments about the gamerscore, please?

Welcome back!

The achievments system is very addicting to the point where any multiplatform purchase is a 360 purchase for me.

Good to have you back. And yeah, as an owner of all consoles of the last 3 generations, I'd have to say, tech problems and all, the 360 is easily one of the best consoles.... EVER.

Thanks guys! Been kinda busy so haven't had much time to stop on GameSpot in a while.

And thank you Johnsteed, for noting my pathetic GamerScore! I raised it 130pts yesterday! LOL

Don't you feel that the PC pretty much has everything one can play on a XBOX360? I though that owning a good PC would make the XBOX360 obsolete.

I do not intend to start a console war but you got me curious. Don't you think that the PC pretty much has all XBOX360 games?

About Me

I'm Suzabbe! I'm a 28 year-old female gamer, horror and sci-fi lover... I used to be the Manager of IT at my last job, now I'm the Project Administrator for the IT Dept at a software development company. Yes, you guessed it, total Dork Queen, but that's fine with me. I came to that conclusion years ago after a long period of denial. I came to GameSpot in a semi-weird way... if you want to know just check out my UCB. I love survival horror, action-adventure, FPS, RTS and the occasional RPG. My favorites are the Resident Evil and Tomb Raider series and almost anything Star Wars! I've recently picked up on the Silent Hill series and am enjoying that as well. I've been a member of the Gamer Advisory Panel for a few years now (where I get my freebies, demos and betas! Thanks Sony!) I love my PC but if I had to go the console route it would be Sony all the way! I've loved them for as long as I can remember and the PS3 is the ONLY next gen for me despite my PC loyalty to Microsoft! I enjoy writing reviews to share my opinion on games and maybe help someone with a purchasing decision here and there. I enjoy playing around in Illustrator and Photoshop but not to the extent I should! Outside of the electronic world I enjoy swimming and bike riding but am in no way athletic, it's a good day if I stay afloat! I'm an avid Ebayer who sells a lot of good games at low prices and do not believe in "trade-ins"! I don't like Union Invites at all and you can send me a friend request but I only accept them after I've read your profile/reviews/blog posts and find you mildly tolerable! :p
