...And Justice For All was Metallica's last great album before they got slower and more mainstream. The production in this one is remarkably drab with clicky drums and inaudible bass but the songs are amazingly complex and hard-hitting. Easily the loudest they've ever produced.
Theres more bad songs on here then ever before but the good outweighs the bad and ...And Justice For All turns out to be a great album. My personal faves are: The Frayed Ends Of Sanity, One, and Dyer's Eve.

Master of Puppets to me isn't quite the masterpiece most people make it out to be. It doesn't blow you away like Ride the Lightning did. It just refines the music and there are a couple clunkers on here such as The Thing That Should Not Be and Leper Messiah. Another thing that I didn't like was how growly James' voice got.
With all this said, Master of Puppets is still an awesome album and is much better than most Thrash Metal out there. My personal faves are: Disposable Heroes, Orion, and Master of Puppets(Of Course).

Ride The Lightning is easily the most influential album in Heavy Metal ever. Each song on it tries something new and the band gives it their best. I also liked James Hetfield's voice in this one...it has an airy sound to it that gives the album a great feel.
Not a single song on this album is bad and it paved the way for Thrash Metal. My personal faves are Creeping Death, Trapped Under Ice and Ride the Lightning.
