Beatles song are the most covered song ever. Whatever the style (rock, rap, country, classical, soul, funk), the era (from the 60's up to now), most of the band have recorded a beatles song or at least played on live.
It looks like their melodies were so pure, so essentiel, that you can adapt them hundreds of time. It's just amazing.
That's just the best band ever!

This album is more dedicated to Beatles fan.
Personnally, I still prefer the original version of the album, arranged and mixed by Phil Spector, a great producer and a real musician. The strings orchestration over-dubbed are just amazing on "The long and winning road". Maybe that's because I have been listening for this album for years, I don't like any changes!

"Is There Any Love in Your Heart" is maybe the best song of the album, a total rocker with great falsetto singing from Lenny!
The lyrics are great (http://www.lenny-kravitz.com/song/id_32_get_lyrics_Is_there_any_love_in_your_heart.html) and the guitar riff powerfull!
I admire Lenny for being compared to other artists, but at the same time making his own music, writing his own lyrics, and playing many instruments unlike many of the artists today, which of course so many critics completely fail to mention. I will always love Lenny's music, his albums and will always "go his way"!

Lenny Kravitz Baptism is rock'n roll in it's most pure state. There is no ego in this CD just pure and perfect rock.
Lenny did a good job on this cd. Each song is good in its own way. He's experimenting which is a good thing because he could sing more mellow and stuff. My favorite songs are Lady, Why Were We Runnin', Baptized, Flash, Storm ft Jay-Z, and Destiny.

Light the candles, open the red wine, spark up the j_ _ _ t. This CD is an icon of social gatherings and posseses one of the finest jazz/funk sax solos ever heard. I saw Maceo live in the south of France at an outdoor Summer concert. Nothing beats the mood laid down by this Master of Funk!
