Why I am afraid to tune in to Fall TV

Let's start with what I lost thispast Spring:

Veronica Mars, never again will I be completely obsessed with a show like this one (okay, maybe not never, but I'm sure not this season).

Jericho and Lost arepostponed until winter, and even then Jericho will be as good as gone.

The C lass (which I can't write correctly here, stupid) was finally a great comedy to catch my eye, and well...

Joan of Arcadia, yes it was years ago, but I am still hargoring a lot of resentment towards CBS, also the network behind the ax of The C lass and Veronica Mars, and the slow chainsaw hacks of Jericho.

What's new???

A comedy ripped from comercial cavemen, a vampire detective (damn CBS for taking the concept of 'Angel' and spitting on it with this joke), a robot bad/good girl (I've seen clips, I'll pass), not one but two shows trying to be Sex and the City, which was never in my radar, and countless others that when given first look, seem to be invisible.

I am still waiting for the magazines to come out with their 200+ shows on this Fall Season, which scares me. It's September, new shows are just around the corner, and I don't have anything new that appeals to me, and no one seems to be flaunting their shows except CBS's Big Bang Theory and I am not wasting another year on a show that is likely to get the rug pulled from beneath me.

And what remains, to many law procedurals, and criminal sciences, etc, nothing much that stands out remotely.

Ok, perhaps I'm being a little harsh, but I am excited about very little this year, but here's what I am a tinge excited about:

Nip/Tuck: It's back, but last season ended so great, I kind of don't see a reason to continue, but I'm sure they'll get me to rethink my mind.

Heroes: Five words: Kristen Bell for 13 episodes (at least); okay, that, and I cannot wait to figure out who survived and who died.

Desperate Housewives: Not too excited, but I am intrigued to see how far Bree's family crosses over to disturbing, and to see if Edie killed herself, I have mixed emotions on this.

And that might just be it, kind of sad, huh!

Now shows that may get a look see:

Smallville and Supernatural and ER: I missed last season though! And Supergirl, that's super lame!

Ugly Betty: I don't remember why I like it and what was all the finale plot twists. Except Betty doesn't get the boy, which is highly frustrating.

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice: I could care less, but I'll be married by then, and my wife will.

Gossip Girl: Is Kristen Bell doing voice-overs enough to entice me, well, let's see what it's up against first.

Biggest Loser and Amazing Race: How many is too many? I may skip out on the Race, I can never get into the newbies, and Biggest Loser, I just enjoy watching the transformation, but they're strctching it to 90 minutes!

So that's it. Disagree, well, I don't really care, but feel free to comment. Maybe, just maybe, you can change my mind.

Woes of TV Going to Crap

I won't hide my sadness in any longer. I have at this point decided that Veronica Mars will not be coming back to TV anytime. Though I am still hoping for a movie to wrap up loose ends, even though great shows like Joan of Arcadia did not get that chance.

I am not sure whether I will punish CW for dropping Veronica Mars while she was hot, or for being to cheap to beg for the Gilmore Girls to return. Perhaps the true punishment should be given to CBS who had the final turn down of Veronica Mars. Damn you, Leslie Moonves. Jericho barely escaped the torture and The Class did not even get a chance to spread its teachings. Yet we are suppose to enjoy 3 versions of CSI and 5 others that seem quite similar. I'd rather not. If it weren't for Big Brother, I would stop watching CBS altogether. I would even give up on Amazing Race because I can no longer get intrigued by a show where I could be watching for a whole hour only to find out that nobody was going home!

In wrap-up, I am still very obsessed with Veronica Mars, and will be quoting it for years to come. Thank you Rob Thomas for sharing your wit. Though, I doubt I will watch Mis/Guided because Kristen Bell made Veronica Mars work. And no this is not a good thing for Gossip Girl on CW which gave her Kristen the job of voice-over.

I'll be back with either obsessive plots for Big Brother or for my 'excitement' for fall tv. Not that there is really much to be excited about.

Best NEW Shows of 2006 Fall Season

The only new show that I watched this season that has gotten cancelled (so far) is Smith.  But I think I might have given up on it before the network did.  Knock on wood.

1.)  The best new show of the season is by no suprise: Heroes.  If someone told me they were going to make an X-Men live tv series, I'd be there.  So by no suprise I decided to watch this show.  What annoys me:  how much it is compared to Lost.  All the online clues, and how viewers claim it is less confusing than Lost, even though Heroes has yet to solve anything for me.  I still love both shows, I just get sick of the comparisons.

2.) The Class is next, which also explains why I 'knocked' on wood earlier because this is the only new show I am watching that is still awaiting it's destiny.  But I love this show, it feels the void that Friends left, and I love the relationship between Ritter and Caplan.  Hoping that goes farther, that is if the show can make it!

3.) Ugly Betty is a fun show.  It isn't a strong show, so I do not expect it to last to entirely long, but I think I'll enjoy it while it's around or at least until this season's finale.

4.) 1 vs. 100 is a great show.  How NBC found another game show that works, I may never know, but this show looks like a lot of fun.  And who can complain about Bob Saget as a host.  Now if only other networks would take notice and not make pointless and retarded game shows like the one with Shatner hosting!

5.) Lastly is Jericho.  This show I have actually only been listening to in the background as of lately so it has not recieved the full attention I am sure it deserves.  It has been an intriguing series of events on this show anyways.  It is also becoming Lost-like with it's focusing on one character for a whole episode.  Can't complain because it's worked on me.

My CW 'Predictions': An After thought

Before the CW shouted to the rooftops what shows it would have, I made my own little hopeful list of shows that would continue.  From first to last they were :  Smallville, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Beauty and the Geek, America's Next Top Model, and Charmed.

Out of all of these shows, I only watch one religiously: Veronica Mars. Things I could do without: changing the theme song  (Yes, I am one of many that complain and saw no point in them changig it.).  That's pretty much it.  If I could get one thing from this show it would be for Logan and Veronica to stay apart!!  Piz would make a much better boyfriend, and I am sick of Logan somehow always redeeming himself.  I declare that he's the rapist!

Shows I sort-of-ish watch: Smallville and Supernatural.  First, Smallville, I'm just sick of this whole Lana & Lex crap, and how Clark is constantly looking  like the problem around Lana.  This show has jumped the shark for me and needs to change or just go away.  And no green 'tights' people will keep me around.   Second, Supernatural has become pointless.  There is this long on-going plot that makes less sense than Lost's plot.  The difference:  Lost has a thick and interesting plot, Supernatural has lost it's plot in a cloud of fog.  How many times can I watch almost the same thing happen week-to-week?

Shows I rarely watch and why:

1) Gilmore Girls :  This was just a show my fiancee would have been happy for it's return.  Not that I won't catch up on DVD someday.

2) America's Next Top Model : I guess I'll just have to catch the Vh1 marathon.

3) Charmed and Beauty & the Geek : Cancelled, and Still to Come, maybe.

Sorry, CW.  Just keep Veronica Mars around and I'll stay by your side.

The Top 5 Shows I MUST Watch, Over the Summer

These are in order, starting with the most Must-See:

1.)  Big Brother: All Stars!  NBC  This has to be on top because it is so addicting.  I always say I could easily not watch it and be fine, but the moment I tune in to this show, I have to be an avid watcher.  And I'm an impatient man so I get updates whenever I can at jokersupdates.com .  Who I'm rooting for: Nakomis, followed by the 'soon-to-be-leaving' Allison, Erika.  Who I want to see lose like they did in seasons past: Kaysar, Janelle, Howie, Jase (although he seems to be somewhat different, we'll see if he attacks Nakomis first).

2.) Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List BRAVO  This show is so funny.  Alright, technically, Kathy is so funny, but whatever.  Anytime you can see her do little bits of stand-up is perfect.  Also not to be missed are her specials also on Bravo: Strong Black Woman, Kathy Griffin is not Nicole Kidman, and Allegedly.  All I need is a show with Kathy and Wanda Sykes and good writing, and I just might be the happiest man on earth.

3.) Real World / Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat MTV  This game is always fun.  I just enjoy watching how long Wes can survive being voted in the 'Loser's Competition'.  Then of course there's Coral and her partner who seem dominant beyond belief (and how her partner dances around circles to not discuss her breast size when she comes out and talks about them).  Now we have Tonya flipping out, shocker, and Katie and Tina (who I love for the honest b**** that she is) are still around to stir the drama pot.

4.) Kyle XY  ABC Family, ABC?  This is the most interesting NEW show.  So far, I have only seen the premiere, but let's face it, it was a really good premiere.  I am very intrigued to watch Kyle develop as a normal human being and see what secrets are in store.  My hope is that, if renewed, this show sticks to the summer as I do not have time for more TV shows in the regular viewing season.

5.) Blade : The Series  SPIKE First thing one should expect is that this is not going to be as good as the movies.  That's a given.  But due to my obsession with vampirism (I am slowly in the process of writing my own Blade-like trilogy) I will still watch it nonetheless.  One complaint: the female 'lead' just doesn't strike me as hot enough for the job.  If you look at other vampire movies or shows, those roles are usually taken by more beautiful women.  Does that make the show any less valuable?  No, but I am still allotted a complaint here or there.
