Food for Thought...

According to World Bank estimates, $54 billion a year would eliminate starvation and malnutrition globally by 2015, while $30 billion would provide a year of primary education for every child on earth.

At the upper range of those estimates, the $456 billion cost of the war in Iraq could have fed and educated the world's poor for five and a half years.

Actually made the charts...

Picket fences hit 16 on the overall charts today... that's pretty cool. Thanks to everyone for listening and I hope you all enjoyed the song.

This is simply great rock music. The vocals, lyrics, and music mesh perfectly. Everything is tight and polished, but not polished to the point of undermining the fact that it is supposed to be a rock song. I really enjoy the vocals... it's not often you here a female lead who can pull off a good gravelly rock and roll scream, but she's perfect here. She'd probably be great for blues too. I also really liked the music. Nothing to complicated, but the focus stays on keeping the pace of the song quick and keeping it hard hitting and you succeed there perfectly.

Great work.

Your song is well structured. Simple, but well put together and melodic. It would be cool to have a little bit of a pick up in there somewhere rather than going from slow to slower, but I suppose it works that way too. Your vocals sound great too, I couldn't make out most of the lyrics, but that's cause I'm not listening to it very loud. You sound like someone I would enjoy jamming with, nice to the point melodies with an ear for a good tune. Great stuff...

It's impressive how you took a bit of scripture and turned it into a decent set of lyrics. They're not complex lyrics but I was surprised how well they meshed with the music. Your vocals are also very impressive both the lead and backing vocals are wonderful. I actually prefered the soul of the backing vocals and would have liked to have heard them as the lead... but both were great. Typically I'm not a fan of easy listening type music, you fill out the music with standard easy listening fare... a light drum beat, some synth strings, a little light backing guitar now and then, and a little piano. It makes sense to keep the music bare bones when your obvious focus is the vocals and your lyrical content, but I think you should put a little more focus on the music at least at some points in the song. After all, music can say just as much as the lyrics, if not more. Maybe throwing in a bit of a musical interlude in there that had more focus on the instrumentation would be nice, specially if you approached the music with a wall of sound kind of approach and brought together a few pieces at once in some nice arranging rather than settling on keeping most of your tracks solo.

Your production is really well together, mixed and mastered well... it can be hard to hear the vocals at times though.

I really enjoy your music. It's hard to describe but I can feel a certain amount of passion put into it that just isn't there in alot of music. Like you really believe in what you're playing. The piano and guitar work is well put together. The vocals are nice and I enjoyed the backing vocal tracks in there too.

Overall it's really enjoyable music.

You guys have some of the tightest recording and production I've heard on here. Great musicianship and flow throughout your songs.

At first on Be My Baby I thought you guys were a typical classic rock style band then after a few seconds it was something totally different and original. You guys draw on so many different genres and styles but still keep it cohesive and sonicly powerful. The traces of rock, funk and electronic all come together in a way that I could never have thought would work. You guys have something really original and great.
