So I shall continue with my awards and expect some huge surprises in store. Hope you like them. Also I will be doing a members vote after mine so don't think I haven't forgotten nI did it last year and hopefully I can do it this year to but hereare my choices.
Best Sports Title: Fifa 10: If most of you don't know the sport is massive and very loved in England and this game is fun and addictive with so many good modes.
Best Fighter:Street Fighter 4: Yes Street Fighter 4 wins another award for me. The game is just so fun to play with friends and online. With a wide variety of characters it is back to its roots and thats what I like plus it plays like a dream.
Best Action/Adventure:Uncharted 2 Among Thieves: Anyone who has a PS3 needs this game it basically merits the purchase of a PS3. The good news is you don't have to play the first game but if you have you will just see how improved it is from its predesscor. It's like an action movie and so many wow moments no game can compare in its catergory.
Best platformer: New Super Mario Bros Wii: It was touch and go with Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time but it just pipped it thanks to the 4 player mode. 1 player is okay but get other people to join you to have a blast.
Best Voice Acting:Uncharted 2: Can any other game comp[ared in terms of voice acting I mean I know Mark Hammil played an excellent Joker in Arkham Asylum but Nolan North returned as the brilliant Nathan Drake and Emily Rose as Elena Fisher did another awesome job too. Uncharted 2 had basically everything awesome about it.
Best Story: Uncharted 2 Among Thieves: Yet again another award for the awesome Nathan Drake. He is looking for the secret entrance to Shambala but others are trying to reach it before him. You will travel across Snowy mountains and a huge city and journey on a train making it one epic adventure from start to finish.
Hero of the Year: Nathan Drake: Again but come on can you argue with a game as good as Uncharted 2 why doesn't he deserve the praise. He climbs things, hangs off the edge of a train battles hordes of enemies and new monsters as well as getting attacked from tanks and helicopters.
Runner Up: Mario: Another solid year from the plumber with excellent titles and new power ups. Saving the princess again man wouldn't you get tired of that. Mario another good year for games.
Villain of the Year: The Joker: Batmans main villain while he might not be as meancing as say Uncharteds villain he certainly made the game Arkham Asylum. I mean he said such funny things at times and using a formula to grow his own Titan Army nearly worked but it just didn't. A funny villain and also quiet pleasing to listen to. It's like he didn't care about his own henchmen at saome point.
Runner Up Fawful: He returned determinbed to rule the Mushroom Kingdom and did with the power of the Dark Star therefore creating a Dark Bowser. Once Fawful was defeated he was in side Dark Bowser whereas the Mario Bros could only attack his final form if Bowser inhaled it.
That ends part 2 there will be a part 3 but that will be on either Boxing day or the 27th December. I will be doing best newcomer, best graphics, best download, best level and most importantly best console of the last year. While I only own a PS3,Wii and DS I do know a few games that have come out this year and I shall also talk about the multiplatform games.

- Loot (aka a "bazillion" guns)
- The More Friends the Better (aka Co-Op play)
- Exciting, fast-paced, accurate shooting
- Great sense of humor
- Neat art
Cons:
- Story starts strong, but gets forgotten quickly
- The vault is a cop-out
- Solo play can be uninteresting at times (must have a drive to collect loot)
- No place to store extra gear or favorite guns
- Some Frame-rate issues
I have spent a considerable time playing Borderlands since its release in later October and I am finally feel ready to tell you final thoughts on the game. Though before I start, please note that this "review" does not take in to consideration the November release of Dr. Ned's Zombie Island or the upcoming Mad Moxxi DLC. With that said we will first discuss the negative aspects of the game, then the good stuff.
The thing that irked me the most about Borderlands is that the story line is terrible, after the opening cut scenes all the story is told through ECHO audio messages within the game. It is so thin, it can't even barely hold the you are Vault Hunters find the Vault plot line. You never learn about the characters, the people that you do meet are no more than glorified message boards and the selectable characters don't even have a back-story other than "they grew up to be Vault Hunters". And the biggest crime is that the little robots called Clap Traps have an excellent voice actor and have tons of personality but are sorrily underutilized within the game, I mean he's basically the mascot of the game for crying out loud. Then to top it all off this ****ing Vault you keep hearing about every ****ing second is the biggest face slapping cop-out ever in a game, I won't spoil it because it is the ending of the game, but let's just say that you should not blast through the story missions just to see what is inside. This story revelation nearly pissed me off so much that it nearly turned me off of the game completely. I figured if the story is ****ty then at least what is in the Vault has to be cool... wrong!
The other thing is more of a personal thing, but because the story is so crappy it makes playing the game single player more about collecting loot and trying out the different character c.lasses then it does about progressing through the crappy story. This makes for a kind of lonely and uninteresting adventure at times, but if you can get excited about finding rare loot and other items that is what will keep you playing your solo games. Speaking of loot there is no where to store extra gear, so for loot collectors who want to hold on to favorites or amazing loot will have to clog up their personal inventories (which only hold 42 items at a time). Finally even though the artistic graphics loot really cool, the game has some noticeable frame rate issues if too many particle effects are on the screen, like the various blood or fire effects.
To start off the game's good points I am going to talk about loot again; collecting loot is what makes the world go around in this game. You must be always on the look out for cool new loot which in the case of Borderlands consists of millions of guns (shields and mods also have rarities as well) in various degrees of rarity. White-Green-Blue-Purple-Orange, Purple named weapons are the epic loot and the Orange or Legendary weapons even have three subtle levels of rarity on their own. There are shotguns that shoot rockets, SMGs that fire spiraling bouncing bullets, acid, fire, shock and explosive elemental guns and even more stuff that you would never expect, like a TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) that fires its whole clip at a time in rapid fire if you use the scope, but fires single semi-automatic shots from the hip. The guns are also randomly generated from different parts which change their three main stats (Damage, Accuracy and Fire Rate) for example a longer barrel will give more accuracy, but a shorter one will give more damage/lower accuracy, etc. You can occasionally find the exact same gun, but it only happens with the common (white) level guns, though most of the time even if you find a gun with the exact same name they will have at least one part that is different.
While playing alone can get uninteresting the more friends you add to a co-op game the better, heck even two-player split screen is more interesting than playing alone, but get a good group together and you have one of the best co-op games of 2009. The enemies will become more challenging and will require team work of a well balanced team to take down effectively. Communication is also key to make sure every one gets the share of the limited loot and ammo drops, though picked up money and quest rewards are shared amongst the entire party. It is almost as if you are playing a different game, well, at least the experience that you will have will change that greatly.
A lot of people might compare Borderlands to Fallout 3, but what that game was lacking was the fast and accurate twitch shooting that makes a FPS a FPS. Borderlands has that, if you are skilled at Call of Duty or Halo you will feel right at home as the default control scheme is almost exactly like CoD4, though there is a control setup called "angelic" that tries to emulate the H3 scheme. Those skill translate into headshots which give critical hits. Though the accuracy rating of the guns will affect your shooting a tiny bit, this is most noticeable on sniper rifles, but its nothing like Fallout 3. Though on difference is that I had to get used to is that you need to actually lead your targets in Borderlands, so pulling off a sniper headshot on a moving target is a bit more of a skill.
Finally the game has a cool art-s.tyle that is one of the unique that I have ever seen in a video game. It gives the game a bit more of an edgy look while adding to the silly humor that the game conveys through the crazy guns, silly characters and even with over the top deaths.
Overall Borderlands is a game that I recommend to you especially if you have friends to play the game with (I don't recommend playing the game with random "loot ninja" players), the quality and ease of setting up a co-op game is really great. Fans of loot collecting RPGs will get a kick out of the character c.lasses and loot while getting to experience pretty exciting FPS. For the FPS fans they will get to sample some of the features that fans of RPGs have been enjoying for years. The shallow story hurts the game quite a bit, but the loot collecting, exciting action shooting and the fun of playing with up to three other people make for a ton of fun that makes up for any short comings that the game might have.
Now Loading's 2009 Wrap Ups will continue December 26th with quite a few impressions of whatever games that I receive as Christmas gifts (trust me I know some are coming). So look forward to that. Loading Complete!
so I was thinking of doing a top 5 list of games of 2009. Well, it turns out, I can't even DO a top 5. why? I only got 4 games that were released this year. That's pretty sad. No wonder my christmas list isso big every year... these are the4 games I got this year.
Beatles Rock Band (360)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
Shadow Complex (XBLA)
and that's it... okay, I did buy other games this year, like a few gamecube and xbox360games I never got a chance to play, but other than that, that's all I ever bought this year... wow i need a job ![]()
that's all i got for today. Once christmas has past, i'll let you guys know what I got. Can't wait!
have a merry christmas everyone!
CRman930
So, what game do you guys think I should grab?
I love Batman a lot, and I even really enjoyed Batman Begins the video game. ![]()
I really enjoyed the original Assassin's Creed and I'm sure I would love the second.
I think it primarily comes down to which one is more replayable.
So, what's your vote?
I got my net connection back and upgraded my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate! And I don't regret it one bit. First of all, it looks beautiful. It runs smoothly without problems. A real piece of work indeed.
Moving on, I've finished Dragon Age Origins as a human noble, it was fantastic although not as satisfying as I thought it would be. I've also finished the campaign of Modern Warfare 2, it was a blast! My only complaint is it was wayy tooooo short. It was over in a blink of an eye. It was way shorter than Modern Warfare 1... or was it because the story is so much better in MW2? Either way, it was short enough that I was able to finish it twice already in addition to having no internet connection. As I've said earlier, the story of MW2 was actually good that I'm looking forward to the sequel already! Here's also a couple of games that I'm looking forward to.

and finally...
I will definitely get a PS3 for this and GoW3!
I knew this day would finally come

Sorry, but they had to go

...the cases that is. These are most of my last gen and PC games. They were taking up far too much space and I needed the room.
So don't worry, the games are safe and snug in their new home.

(bonus points if you know what that means)
on wednesday my Halo 3 Todd McFarlane (andGreg Capullo) Lithograph finally came
i sent away for it on August 31 and got it December 16, thats 15 weeks, 107 days which is almost 1/3 of a year. i had to email them a few times but i finally got it.
i just hope i can find a good enough frame for it.
also that day i got Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2
for an AMAZING price, i got it at staples on clearance (brand new) for get this $6.27. it had been marked down 4 times from $29.97-$19.97 than from $9.97-$7.47. and i get to the till and there is a clearance sale of 25% off and its $5.60 without tax.
i called eb before i got it and they said it was i think $40 new and $29 used, i couldnt pass that deal up. im not too good at "tacticial" chooters like tom clancy's games but i think i can do it better than Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 for gamecube.
what else.OH i read the Dead space 2 article in the new gameinformer and it was amazing, im not going to write everything cause you should get the magizine so i will put some bullet points of what i found interesting.
- you will be able to manuver and fight in zero g gravity, not just jumping from point to point.
- set on a space station named SPRAWL which looks like the ishimura, which is located on saturns moons, and you will be in citys.
- set 3 years after the first game and involvs stoping a government plot involving the marker.
- AND a new gun called the javelin gun which shoots a javelin to pin necromorphs to walls, and the alt fire makes them explode or electracute them.
- there WILL be 3 player ONLINE CO-OP, and they are working on online multiplayer.
- and there might be more comics to add to the whole dead space lore.
this is what the cover looks like
i could only find it at eb games for $5.99, so go out and pick up a copy.
what else, what else..... i beat AssassinsCreed a week ago and it was great, i dont have all 1000 yet but all i need to do is find lots of flags and kill 4 templars.
thats it for now i think....yep.

Until Next Time!
See ya!
With Christmas just around the corner, I have to decide which game I'm going to get with the money my parents give me every year.
I either want to get Rock Band 2 or Band Hero, but I'm not sure which one is better, seeing as how I've only played Guitar Hero ![]()
I'd appreciate it if you guys could help me decide which one to get ![]()
Just finished playing the video game-themed round of 1 v 100 on Xbox Live, and I was so close to getting top ten! Was as high as sixth in the mid-to-late stages, but a Grand Theft Auto question tripped me up. Apparently San Andreas is the largest city in terms of square metres in the games, but I went with Liberty City - if only I'd had a skip (or been generally interested in the series)
Only had one other question wrong (which was a couple after the Grand Theft Auto one), which was to pick which game either was or wasn't published by LucasArts. So close and yet so far, but it must have been a comfortable top twenty. And blog over, had to write it down somewhere ![]()
Some history:
The doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is the doctrine that the Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin, that twist in our nature that makes our will tend not to follow what it knows to be right. It was this grace that enabled Mary to give a true and considered "Yes" to the request, conveyed by the Angel Gabriel, that she should consent to be the mother of the incarnate God.
The doctrine was almost universally believed over the centuries and but was only formally defined as a doctrine of the Church by Pope Pius IX in 1854. It is one of the Marian doctrines that Islam shares with the Catholic Church.
Mary, help of Christians most immaculately conceived and ever-sinless, ora pro nobis!
By the way: I've been away for a while, mostly due to the fact that I've a) been in Wyoming more or less continuously since Nov. 1, AND b) been stupidly busy with work and a few other things which have taken precedence over Gamespot.
In fact, I don't expect to be able to do much here on GS until about the end of the year, apart from maybe a few more blog postings.
But anyhow: it's the feast day of the Mother of our Lord's most holy and immaculate conception! Celebrate!
On December 2, I turn 20. I'm no longer a teenager, I still play video games and will continue to do so for as long as they provide me the entertainment. Birthdays aren't really that exciting anymore, mainly because I can afford to buy the stuff I want now. However, I guess you can't complain about the cake.
Gaming-wise, I've been playing 1 vs. 100 and been doing fairly well. I've just got one achievement left in it but I have to wait until a live event comes up to get it. I have also done all of spec-ops and the campaign 100% in Modern Warfare 2, which has given me my most recent 1000 gamerscore. Now, my focus is on Assassin's Creed II. It's very enjoyable so far and varied compared to the previous.
If you'd like to read my review on it, without giving too much detail, then please check out my contribution to AndyWilliam24's Gamer Euphoria website, that you are welcome to become apart of. I have this week off and plan to make good use of my time, through the means of video games, although I'll try to get out once in a while. ![]()
I got a new game. who me a new game....i still play games people just not as much. I picked up a copy of Left 4 dead 2.
But that's not the point of this blog have you heard the awesome song in it. it's epic want to hear it clck this.
And thats all I have to say
Not too much to talk about. If you're wondering why I was gone, drop me a PM and I'll tell you the details.
Spiritually speaking, things have improved somewhat, praise the Lord.
Hopefully this will be an ongoing trend. Still got plenty of struggles, though.
Writing-wise, things are about the same.
Exercise-wise, things are getting back in shape (no pun intended.
Well, maybe a little bit). Just did a lot tonight, in fact.
School-wise, things are going fairly well. I pretty much have John 1:1 memorized in Greek now.![]()
Otherwise, and overall...it just varies. Up, down, here, there. And I'm sure being a teenager with emotions and hormones doesn't help any. But, the Lord's blessing, as He always is.
No matter what, I'm doing a lot better than I deserve, because I don't deserve God's love, grace, and mercy which He so bestows upon us.
Since I'm doing this in Greek, I guess I should post it:
(John 1:1) - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the God, and the Word was the God."
I'm pretty sure this is the literal Greek translation.![]()
Thanks for reading, God bless, and have a great week!![]()

I sware it was like, one of the best days of my LIFE! I dunno where to start. How about from the beginning. This was the subject that started the day.
Me: *Yawning, then looks to the right.* AGGGGH RENO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!
Reno: *yawn.* Oh hi Eric!
Me: WE WERE SUPPOSED TO SLEEP HEAD TO FOOT!
Reno: But it was cozier this way!
Me: ..... No more spending the night!
SO that's pretty much how that started. Anyone watching it like it was a TV show would have cracked up. After that Reno went back to sleep and I took a shower. Then we ate breakfast when he FINALLY woke up (it was about 8 or 9 lol.) But then my friend Selyna (We call her "silly") called and it was a little like this:
Me: Hello?
Silly: YOU AND RENO BETTER COME TO THE HOMECOMING GAME AT WEST TODAY!!!
Me: Ouch!!! Let me ask him.
Silly: He's... with you?
Me: Yeah, he spent the night.
Silly: GUY LOVE!
Me: SHUT UP!
Gah. So me and him decided that we couldn't find a ride to Joliet West (A high school that sister's ours, but on the opposite side of town.) But we heard a parade coming, and we remembered it went from Central (our school) to West! We wanted to hide on a float and go to West from there... but... We couldn't find it! Soo, we decided that walking the four miles there was worth it. The game started at about 10:30 and we left at about 10. So we got there at about the middle of the second quarter, which was pretty decent timing since neither of us ran it. (We're very used to walking.) We finally got there and Silly was like "FINALLY!" and we all laughed. She was with her date and I think his cousin. Plus me and Reno made 5. It was West vs another school, Plainfield that I've never even seen and by the second quarted West was up 7 to 3. But then at the end of the game West lost 7 to 28 -_-. We saw our friend Roman who I've been friends with since 6th grade and hung out with him alittle while. Then me and Reno were thankfull we saw our friends Emily and Megan Steiner (sisters.) This was really good because Megan... well... has a car
. We saw until the end of the first quarter or the game until we saw our friend Dylan walking around with crutches guarding our mascot (that was smart!) and my friends Taylor and Cassady were trying to sell me some stuff to help the Poms team (neither of them belong to it.) And it was burning hot the whole time! (And I had a black hoodie on!) So Megan decided she wanted to leave which was mine and Reno's best bet to get home in an air conditioned car and she said yeah.
On the way home, we went to Blockbuster, where I was as annoying as I could be.
Me: MEGAN!
Megan: *Ignores*
Me: MEGANNN.
Megan: *Ignores*
Me: MEGAN MEGAN MEGAN MEGAN MEGAN!
Megan: WHAT!?!?!?!?!
Me: GET VEGGIE TALES!!!
Megan: NO!
(So Emily got it
)
Lets see, after that Reno needed to get money! So we drove to his house and his mom had none, so we had to drive her to the cash station (crowding the car!) and when she got it drive her back. But Reno had money now so it was all good. Megan said that for homecoming, she would come and pick up Reno and I while she goes to pick up her friend, Alissa, because we're on the way and then we would all go. (With all the others going... I counted 12 people in one car.) But I didn't worry about that yet. She finally drove Reno and I to my house where he got showered and ready, and i just got ready (I showered earlier on.) I have to say I looked pretty good! (There was a picture of all of us at Baker's Square afterwards. I'll show you if I can get it from Alissa.) Anyways, my friend Dylan (We call him criple, due to his broken foot.) called and said that he could come and pick up Reno and I but we'd have to be early. We decided why not so I called Megan and said we still wanted to hang out with her afterwards, but we were getting a ride with Dylan.
His dad is crazy, we drove around, basically just whistling at girls and telling jokes. But we did get there about 30 minutes early. So we walked to a nearby wallgreens and got a few drinks. And basically just hanged for a while. (He was walking around without his crutches. He doesn't need them much anymore. He was dancing like crazy.) Talking about guy stuff and blah. But then at 7 we just walked into the dance (It was from 7 to 10). and we were good to go. We were early, but soon people started filing in. I was getting surprise hugs from people, and I didn't know who they were until I heard their voices over the loud music or was slapped for not knowing. We basically just danced like crazy, and it was awesome. When Megan and Emily came in, I saw that the Alyssa girl they were taling about was my back neighbor lol. My legs really started to hurt and it was really hot after the first few minutes, it was like that for everyone, but we just broke out of that quickly and didn't stop all night. Hehe, I for one (who I didn't even think knew how to dance) was able to slow dance with at least 8 different people (Yes including the two I wanted to dance with), juked in about 5 lines, and maybe about 5 people individually. And just playing pretty good dance music. Very difficult to think of names.
Basically I never wanted it to end. Some people seemed jelous of all the girls I had (and the way we were dancing) but...
. Then when it did end, I slow danced one more time with my friend Chassidy and then it was over. But it was only 10:00! SOOOOO PIE TIME!
it turns out, Alyssa worked at Baker's Square, a pie place, and she reserved a table for 12. There were two cars to fit us all. Me, Reno, Alyssa, and Megan had one car the the other 8 had another one. When we got there, I had to carry Alyssa to the entrence because she has a messed up foot (Her doctor said she isn't going to homecoming, and if so not for too long, not to dance crazy, and not to act foolish.) All the rules, she broke. The whole time she was like "MY SKIRT PEOPLE CAN SEE!" and I'm like "It's 10 at night! Nobody's here!" and when we went in the others were there. By names, I think it was Dabreana, Coda, Emily, Reno, Timmy, Roman, Tony, Jake, Bri, Alyssa, Megan and I. Lala, we ate. And then this happened.
Alyssa: I declare a toast!
Me: I LIKE TOAST!
*Everyone laughs*
Alyssa: This is my last year here, bla bla bla, I had a really good time tonight, bla bla bla, lets eat.
Me: TOAST!
Hm... And then there was music in the background and Alyssa decided to take Roman and dance. Then Jake took Bri, Timmy and Emily, Reno and Coda had headaches so didn't so Dabreana was like "Eric! Get over here and dance!" soo I did. We danced for a few minutes (at that point we could all tell how bad we smelled like perfume and sweat.) And then after we ate, Megan took me, Reno, Alyssa, and Dabreana home (the latter of which fell asleep on my arm.) and we dropped her off, then Reno, then Alyssa and I (remember, we're neighbors.) On the car ride, we all had some pretty... well pertty akward jokes going around but we were all tired, and it was past midnight so none of us knew what we were talking about. When I went inside and it was all over... I was kinda sad. I went to watch TV for 30 minutes and went to sleep... Good dreams, good dreams.
And that's how my homecoming day was. I hope it's even better in the next two years!
Well it's been a while since I have made a proper blog with good information and it's informative. (I wonder how many blogs I have started with the word "well"?) Anyway I started school over a week ago and I have went from having one subject to two. My Advanced Higher Maths class has started and there are only 4 people in it including myself. Physics hasn't started yet due to my teacher still being off as a family member died. That teacher came back yesterday and we talked for about 10 minutes about AH (Advanced Higher) Physics, the people doing it and the time to do it. Also I got my Physics grade back and I got 91% for the exam - Now that is great
There are only two people wanting to do AH Physics and there is no proper time between us so me and this other guy need to work around our free class together and try and decide where Physics should go. This is turning out harder than expected as I never see this other guy about and when I got a hold of him he could only talk for a few minutes before going to class. Anyway I think our first period should be tomorrow in it.
The new school is rubbish albeit it is clean with new tables and chairs, there is only one proper entrance and exit (The fire escape sets off an alarm) so that makes it harder to go out during "free" periods and just go get something to eat or fresh air without a few teachers asking you were you going. Also chewing gum is banned and your not allowed to eat food in the corridors or outside. Also you can't take water into the corridor which is the most stupid idea ever since when is water going to stain the floors? Also our common room is rubbish, it's not even a room it's just a dent in the wall where people have stuck chairs and desks. You need to walk by it to get to P.E and it doesn't even have doors
Worst of all, the head teacher comes in every half an hour or so to make sure your working and not talking or listening to the radio or playing games.
In gaming I have not much to report, I have not really played my xbox much in the past month and my gold subscription has run out - still not renewed it yet. As for new games, I have none really - I am planning to buy the Beatles Rock Band when it comes out within the next two weeks. Not so sure yet if I just want the game, the game with guitar or the full set since my GHWT drums are broken, the guitar is falling apart and the mic doesn't really pick up (Never sing anyway). I have still have a GH:Aerosmith guitar which works ok but I have used that so much it's also starting to fall apart. I am also eagerly waiting for Professor Layton 2 to come out on DS over here since it's already out in America. I might actually just order it on-line but I'm not sure yet since some of the puzzles are different from the US version to the EU version.
Not really much to report in real life except that I am having a good time at school with all my friends I was with during the summer and some of the one's I haven't seen since June. I have been playing some more MMQ (Massive Music Quiz) online and bet my high score, could have got a point higher if I just got the artist I never got in one of the songs (Damn t.A.T.u - See picture attached). Otherwise, I think I may go see that new Final Destination film in 3D (I have been told it's rubbish but the 3D effects are good) so I may give it a go with some friends. Last but not least, I am thinking of starting driving lessons soon since most of my friends have already started and I don't want to feel left out.

Thanks for reading,
Chris.
