Brittish Television
So watching State of Play turned me on to a wonderful actor John Simm. To see more of John I found Life on Mars and I love it! One of the best series ever! So well done - I was around in the 70s and this show actually got it right.
The premise is a chief Inspector who has a car accident and ends up back in the 70s. You don't know if he is in a coma, dreaming, or really there. Anyway you look at it it's like Life On Mars.
Life on Mars will be done in the US this fall. I can't imagine it could possibly be as good without the English actors.
John Simm is also in Doctor Who and since I loved Torchwood so much, I will venture down that path also. It's really not the doctor Who from the 80s - its all new since 2005. Of course the shows I'm watching are all award winning shows so I'm picking the creme of the crop.
If this keeps up, I might find a fondness for Tea. Maybe not, but I defiitely have a fondness for Britt TV.
What I'm watching now!
I keep finding such good TV. I watched all 7 seasons of Buffy and most of Angel. Spike became my favorite character. I started watching Torchwood for James Marsters and love the show - found a new actor I love - Burn Gorman.
Keeping with British TV I am now a big fan of Shameless and enjoyed State of Play, a 6 part political thriller also written by Paul Abbott.
Here in the states I'm back to watching my TNT favorites The Closer and Saving Grace. For the summer I'm watching Burn Notice also.
There is good TV out there - you just have to find it!
I'm a Myspace Nut!
Well not really, but I wanted to get your attention. I am progressing. I have added friends day by day and now I have 49. I have to rotate them at random since I can only display 40. I find I am liking this very much. I read the new moods at the top and the bulletins. I get some nice messages in my inbox and comments on my page! On Saturday when I was frustrated I posted an editorial about HN and got some nice responses. It is a great megaphone for Moonlight!
Just like on TV.com I find I am becoming friends with some people. I like everyone but sometimes you just make a connection with people. So some are becoming better friends as we go along and find we have more in common. It happens like making friends anywhere. Trevor Munson accepted me as a friend. I don't know if we will become close friends. Only time would tell but I like his page. It is just a white space with his comments and blogs. Not pretentious at all. If we did become friends I could give him some hot ideas for those 2 vampires!
Interestingly. My 2 daughters, a grandaughter and a family firend are also on. I noticed my daughter had indicated a funny mood and called her at work. She has a Doctor's appoitment tomorrow and is maybe a little concerned. As we talked it became apparent that maybe she wanted some company for this appointment so I'm going. It was a conversation we would not have had if not for myspace.
So, yes - I like myspace more and more everyday.
Using HTML to make myspace do what you want!
What is HTML?
HTML is the language of web pages. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is a programming language used on the WWW (World Wide Web) in order to create web pages. Web browsers than interpret the HTML and display it so that users are able to view it. HTML is actually a very simple language once the basic concepts are understood. HTML is a client-side language which means the data is interpreted locally on your computer, not from the server.
So we use HTML many places including here on TV.com when we do hyper links or when we make spoilers. Probably the way to make spoilers is a good example of HTML. For example the word spoiler enclosed in [ ] starts the spoiler code. To end it enclose the same words in brackets with a /proceeding the word. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to show you exactly without the code working!
On myspace you can use the same method with different codes such as 'B' for bold or 'big' to make your text bigger. Just enclose them in the brackets and end the code with the /code within brackets.
