OMG, A Blog!
Why do I only want to blog when I have no time to do it? That has to be one of life's most challenging questions.
Watch Dollhouse when it premieres at the end of September! Unfortunately it will have significantly less Amy Acker, but awesome Adelle should make up for that.
Mumbo jumbo.
And...goodbye!
Top 5 Actors On The CW
My Top 5 Actors On The CW While the CW is hardly the best network, it does have a few talented actors that are rarely given praise because they are on a teen network. I have only included actors that are currently on the CW, so brilliant actors like John Glover, Michael Rosenbaum and (especially) Kristen Bell are not on the list because they aren't currently acting on any CW shows. Even though Kristen Bell is the voice of GG, I can't really count her. Anyway...
5. Ed Westwick
From: Gossip Girl Probably the only of the younger male castmembers on Gossip Girl with any acting ability, he has been great on the show the beginning. With more screentime and a chance to show more sides of Chuck, he has only gotten better in season two. I can definitely see why the character is as popular as he is! 4/3. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester
From: Gossip Girl I did not even try to choose between them - both are the main reasons to tune into Gossip Girl. Leighton Meester is wonderful as one of the most complex characters on a teen show, and Blake Lively has shown that she has real acting talent too. 2. Jensen Ackles
From: Supernatural Jensen Ackles has always been the main reason to watch Supernatural. He is great at both comedy and drama, and continues to improve with each season that passes by. 1. Allison Mack
From: Smallville The main reason I continue to watch Smallville. Allison Mack is excellent even when the material is not (which is pretty regularly). Episodes such as Freak and Tomb show what a great actress she is. I look forward to seeing her in more roles in the future.
Do you agree with my choices? Who would you have included from actors that are currently on the CW?
Currently watching - Dollhouse, 90210, Gossip Girl, and Grey's Anatomy.
The Return
I'm back, and hopefully I'll be back to blog regularly again. I only have three more exams left, only one of which I find important (Science). I also have ICT and Technology, but I can't seem to care for them. I'll probably revise a little for Technology though, as paper one did not go well. At all.
Reviews! This TV season has been weird for me, there are a lot of shows I just lost track off (Terminator) and some that I have not watched in ages (Supernatural, Smallville). I am going to write about four TV shows I actually did watch this year, and there should be more to come...eventually. As usual, SPOILERS!!
Desperate Housewives, Season 5 Number Of Episodes: 24 Favourite Character: Bree Favourite Episode: The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened (Ep.100) Rating: 6/10 The time jump was fun, but this has to be the worst season of Desperate Housewives yet. The main mystery was so irritating, and everytime Dave did something jingly background music would play that got on my nerves so much! Lynette rarely gets a good season long storyline (I think the cancer arc was the exception), and this year she had boring family issues as usual. As well as this, Tom has got to be one of the most annoying characters on the show. I like Susan, but she rarely gets a good storyline too. She is a fun character but her relationship with Mike and Jackson just annoy me. Gabbie is funny as usual, and her two daughters can be very funny! I love Bree, and it was nice seeing her grow closer to Andrew and have a successful career. The scene in the premiere with Benjamin getting took away by Danielle was depressing and well acted from Marcia Cross (as usual). I do think her storyline in the later part of the season did not work too well, and it ruined Orson who became crazy and starting stealing to hurt her. Okay....I used to love Katherine but her extreme need for marriage at the end of the season made me want to slap her. A lot. The end of the season in particular was dreadful, and the finale was the worst to date. I do not care who Mike married, he should have been killed off ages ago!
Dirty Sexy Money, Season 2 Number Of Episodes: 13 Favourite Character: Karen Favourite Episode The Bad Guy Rating: 8.5 As a warning, I will discuss aspects of the last three episodes. I don't believe they have aired in the US, yet. I loved season one, but this was such an improvement over that season! Right from the premiere, you could tell that season two was going to be much more dramatic and it was! I loved the Karen/Simon storyline, mainly because Karen is awesome and Simon is complete psycho. The murder trial at the start of the season was fun, and Lucy Liu was a wonderful addition as Nola! The Nick/Lisa breakup was a little boring, but neither character has ever been that interesting anyway. There were a lot of great moments throughout the season! I loved the Karen/Lisa catfight. Anything featuring Karen. Nola Lyons being hilarious right from the start. The drama! It really is such a shame to see this show go, it had a great cast and was hugely addictive. The last episode ended in a cliffhanger, I wish we got another season!
Pushing Daisies, Season 2 Number of Episodes: 13 Favourite Character: Chuck Favourite Episode: Kerplunk Rating: 9/10 Another show that got better in its second season only to be cancelled! Such a shame. As I was saying, season two was a great improvement over the first year! Ned and Chuck were as sweet as ever, Olive as perky, Emerson as hilarious, and the aunts as crazy! I loved all the cliffhangers during certain episodes that left me wanting more each week. Olive as a nun was hilarious, and I love that she called the pig 'Pigby'! The return of Chuck's father was a nice storyline with a few twists along the way. Everything was just great. The finale was a nice way of tying things up, considering the show was quickly canned. The ending narration did give some closure and that episode as a whole was the best of the season.
Skins, Season 3 Number of Episodes: 10 Favourite Character Emily Favourite Episode 1.09 - Katie and Emily Rating: 6.5/10 This is going to be hard for me to explain. This year, I thought the characters on a whole have been better than the original cast. However, the storylines and acting have not been as strong. So while I like the characters this year more than in seasons one and two, the show is not as good (and no one tops Cassie as a great character!). I loved the Emily/Naomi lesbian storyline, both are some of the best characters this series and they are cute together! Loved all their scenes together. I love Pandora, but after her episode she was barely there. Effy makes for a great leading lady, but they need to keep her away from Cook who is just so irritating. JJ is funny, but not the greatest character. I hate Katie, she is definitely not as interesting as her sister is! Freddy is a complete bore. I think that is all of the characters! The Effy/Freddy/Cook storyline was uninteresting and I am glad it (seems) to have ended. The finale was terrible, it seemed like a standalone episode and nothing really happened until the last ten minutes. Not as good as seasons one or two, but hopefully season four will be better!
I may also review...90210, Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy.
E3! There were some fun announcements at E3 this year, for those who don't know, it is a gaming conference where various new games are announced and shown off. Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer - I am so excited for this! I have been a Mario fan for years, and Super Mario Galaxy was one of the best Mario games ever! I'm definitely looking forward to this sequel. Yoshi ftw! Metroid: The Other M trailer - I have only played MP3:Corruption, but I am definitely looking forward to this! It looks like heaps of fun.
'tis all for now. Hope everyone has a nice week!
Revision
I hate revision, I can't concentrate! I have a Spanish oral tommorow with stuff I still have not learned (as if I care about Spanish though...). Maths exam in two weeks which I am really dreading...
Ugh. I'm gonna end up like one of those homeless people who smell like alcohol.
Any got any revision tips?
Saw the last episode of Pushing Daisies on Friday, it had a nice little end narration to give us an idea of where all the characters would end up! Not the best way to end something, but at least it wasn't cheesy like Forever Charmed.
To be fair though, PD is never cheesy...defo one of the best shows in recent memory!
Have a nice May!
I should be back with regular blogs next month - around about the second week in June.
tvfan Top 10: Couples Edition
Hello everyone, I have all of next week off school meaning I have some time to catch up on television! I plan on watching all of Lost season three within the next nine days, but I also have a pretty big Science test coming up so I'm going to try to revise.
Private Practice: Featuring The Cast Of Buffy and Angel
ABC's Private Practice seems to love casting Buffy actors in guest spots. Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker made appearances earlier in the season, and Amber Benson and Emma Caulfield are scheduled to appear in future episodes. This is great news for me, it will actually keep me watching PP! I love Addison and Kate Walsh is doing well in the lead role, but she is pretty much where my interest in the show ends.
Gizzie Gone?
All week the speculation about Katherine Heigl and TR Knight has been pretty dramatic, it could all just be a ratings stunt but that seems unlikely and the rumors about Heigl having been circling for a while. I definitely would not enjoy the show without my favourite character, but I'd watch Heigl in anything and I think she has a promising career ahead of her. I will also miss TR Knight, who is easily the most talented from the male cast. EDIT: Shonda Rhimes has denied that they are leaving.
Resident Evil 4?
A lot of websites are reporting that the script for Resident Evil four is almost done and that they are just waiting for Milla Jovovich to sign on before it is made official. It is all rumours for now, but I'm hoping it really does get made as I enjoyed all three films. And if it does happen, they have to bring back Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine!
My Top 10 TV Couples
With V-Day tommorow, I thought this was an appropriate topic. And plus, it shows I'm not bitter about being alone.
Each entry could contain SPOILERS!! about the particular couple mentioned.
10. Lex and Lana
From: Smallville
The lies! The drama! This was such an interesting relationship, and it could get pretty dark at times during season six. This relationship also briefly made Lana an enjoyable character, she was completely different during the end of season six. And by completely different, I mean actually interesting for a change!
09. Paige and Henry
From: Charmed
Sure, this relationship seemed rush and was probably only used to get Paige hitched by the end of season eight, but they were a cute couple. Also, Henry was the only interesting character that ever shared a relationship with Paige.
08. Seth and Summer
From: The OC
Everyone seems to love these two, and they had a great relationship most of the time. Sure, it was filled with drama but you really wanted these two to stay together!
07. Monica and Chandler
From: Friends
At first it was a little hard to believe, but after a while you could tell that this was a really fun relationship which had a ton of memorable moments of the years! Definitely the best couple on Friends.
06. Isabel and Alex
From: Roswell
Probably the only couple on Roswell that I could actually tolerate, these two were adorable! They shared some of the best moments the show had ever seen and their relationship was sadly cut short.
05. Spike and Drusilla
From: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel
Back when Spike was bareable, he was in an awesome relationship with crazy lady Drusilla. These two were such a hoot, and you could tell that there was genuine affection there even if they were blood sucking fiends.
04. Bree and Orson
From: Desperate Housewives
They were the main feature of what I feel was Desperate Housewives' best story arc to date, they are also such a similar couple! In season five there have been times that their relationship has seem strained (the crazyness of him forcing her to cook the roast, with Bree crying).
03. Ned and Chuck
From: Pushing Daisies
Such a loveable couple, they are so adorable together and it can get really depressing knowing that they can never touch each other.
02. Izzie and Denny
Season two of Grey's Anatomy was an amazing season of television, largely due to the wonderful Izzie/Denny story arc. The three part finale was made of awesomeness, and was also pretty depressing. Throughout the season I grew to love the relationship and it will always be remembered as one of the high points during Grey's!
01. Willow and Tara
From: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
These two shared a beautiful relationship, they were so easy to love and definitely featured in some of the best moments of Buffy! I was so sad to see them split up, but their reunion was adorable! And then...it happened. I won't even go there now though, but they were an amazing couple!
Do you agree or disagree with my choices? And I hope you all have a great weekend!
