Season Nine: My Return, but not really

It seems like I haven't been here in forever, but I guess it has only been a month of separation. Last month I was campaigning for Chuck, I had just seen Star Trek for the first time, and I was still obessed with the stars of 9 to 5 the musical. A lot changes in 30 days. Now Chuck is renewed, I've seen Star Trek 3 times, and my celebrity obsession is back to Zachary Quinto and Neil Flynn's involvement with both Scrubs and The Middle. The month was swept away with finals and sunshine and a trip to Jamaica, which was awesome if you have never been. The water is totally see-through, the people are genuinely nice, and it was the first stamp on my passport. Still, I'm about as good with flying as Dean Wincester on Supernatural, if you know what I mean.

And when I came back into the country, all I could read about was this new look for Scrubs. There is going to be a Turk, but no Carla? How can that happen? Maybe this new season of teaching and not doctoring will be shot entirely as JD's fantasy, where Dr. Cox and Turk can devote all of their attention to him, which would be the camera, since ZB won't be there. Ugh! I had decided I wasn't going to watch it since Neil Flynn moved to The Middle, but I kinda want to watch them destory/re-invent one of my favorite shows...

Anyway, the point is, I'm back, and I'll start commenting on blogs again, sorry for the disappearance!

Star Trek + the Amazingness of Spock

This is the survey from the home page today:

Who was the best character in the new Star Trek movie?

Results

James T. Kirk 27% 1,050

Dr. Leonard McCoy 18% 704

Uhura 4% 161

Spock 40% 1,534

Pavel Checkov 6% 249

Hikaru Sulu 4% 144

Total Votes: 3,842

Take that Kirk! Spock is the BEST! I LOVED the new Star Trek movie. I'll admit I've never seen a full episode of the series, but that was the best movie I have seen in a long time. Zachary Quinto, I want to marry that man. He exceeded my expectations, and my expectations were unrealistically high! Overall, I loved the characters, I thought everyone was funny, and I wasn't that confused by the time-travel. That means good movie to me! I just hope there are many sequels, all equally as excellent as the first

Live long and prosper!

Don't be a "Buy-Moron"

First off: Lost. Sayid has never been one of my favorite characters on Lost so I didn't love the last episode, but I am interested to see how the writers are going to fix the plot with shooting young Ben. Either it will be something lame like 'the bullet missed all organs and important parts of the body,' or hopefully something better. The most interesting (and probably most incorrect) theory that I have heard is the Sayid shot Ben who died, but Ben's twin brother, let's call him Claude, saw it happened, and decided that Ben's life was better than his own, so he switched clothes and decided to live out the rest of his life as his twin brother, Ben, meaning that the adult Ben Linus we have come to know and mistrust was really Claude, a messed up kid who saw his brother die and is now a sketchy guy on an island. But the only way for this fan theory to be true is to have the show turn into a soap opera, and hopefully that won't happen!

Of course, for once in my life I decided to go out on a Monday night, and of course, as soon as I saw a Heroes fan today they practically shouted "Did you watch it last night! It was so IN-TTTENSE!" I'm excited, and I'll watch it as soon as Im done with Chuck vs. the Broken Heart, which has been pretty good so far.

RIP Andy Hallett, you sure were a talented man.

Playing Catchup and Making Up Harmonies

I missed three straight weeks of television this month. I thought catching back up would be fun, but watching all the episodes in a row kinda takes away the suspense without the commercials to keep you on the edge of your seat.

I'm finally up to date with the episodes and articles about Lost, and I was very excited to find that the writers still plan on keeping the flash-forward and flash-backward plots because I find them interesting even though they might be confusing to try and explain to non-fans.

I still haven't watched the Psych finale, though I heard it was really excellent except for the last few minutes. I'm way behind on The Office and 30 Rock, but I figure I can watch this week's episode and go back to watch the other one's later. I really really need to catch up on Heroes because it was horrible timing for when I had to miss it with Sylar's storyline at such a high point! I haven't even seen his father yet which makes me really sad. I can't wait to watch "Shades of Gray" because I love love love that title!

I'm two episodes behind on Scrubs, and I still haven't decided if I want to try to jump back into Dollhouse since I really wasn't that impressed wit the first episode...

Boy, I just need more time and I can finally finish my list!

Basic Neil Flynn Appreciation, etc.

Good news all you Janitor fans: Neil Flynn will not disappear after Scrubs is finished! But I'm sure every fan already knew that. He was cast as Patricia Heaton's husband on the upcoming ABC comedy "The Middle." Hopefully he will get to improv as much as he does now on Scrubs. However this also means that if the idea of Scrubs continuing becomes a reality, I won't be watching. I was only going to stay for the Janitor, Doug, and the Todd, but considering that now the janitor is out and Doug hasn't even shown up in this eighth season, I don't think I can stay for Todd alone.

Psych is back and as good as ever. I thought I was going to die laughing during the sea lion episode when Shawn was describing why he turned the light out so the sharks wouldn't know they were there. That was too funny, and I'm betting it was mostly James Roday because that would be hard to put in a script. Either way, it was brilliant. Plus Shawn/Jules is being brought up in every episode now. What's that about? I won't get my hopes up though, Seth and Summer had a rocky road ahead, I'm sure these two will too.

Also, Lenny Wolpe is no longer on Broadway as the Wizard in Wicked (which I am going to go see again in May!). I can't find any upcoming projects for him either, so I not sure if he is involved in something else or just taking a break right now. sigh. Well, that's it for now, hopefully I'll be able to update my blog more offend now that the craziness of Christmas has past. Not that I'd mind the endless sugar cookies again
