Greensburg, Kansas
My heart is with them. The tornado that struck there Friday Night hits me so close to home that it's frightening. 75-90% of the town is completely destroyed. At least 11 are dead.
See kids! Things like the twister in the Wizard of Oz can happen minus the Wicked Witch of the West and the munchkins and Judy Garland and the techicolor.
We'll carry on
I attended the Invisible Children event Displace Me this weekend and it was an amazing experience. For those who read this blog and are unaware of what IC is, check out their website at http://www.invisiblechildren.com/ It's worth your time. I'll have to check the promo material after it is release and see if I appear at all.
I finished the Firefly series and now all I have left is the "Serenity" movie. The show was fan-freaking-tastic and I hope the movie does it justice. It's hard to pick a favorite character but it would have to be between Zoe, Kaylee, or Inara. Don't get me wrong, I loved everybody abord the vessel. Favorite episode would have to be.... "Objects in Space" because River is so crazy that it is amazing.
The next new series for me will be Arrested Development. I've seen about 6 or so episodes from the first season and its hilarious. I'll go with Maeby as my favorite so far. George Michael's crush on her is cute but still creepy. I also really loved Alia Shawkat when she starred in "State of Grace" and her guest spot on VM.
I plan on finishing Freaks and Geeks when I get the chance and I'm still going strong with Dead Like Me. I hope to at least have the first season finished by the end of the term. On a side note, I found old episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark? so I've rewatched a couple of those to relive my childhood days.

I present "Snakes in the Rain" and other fun tales. Help us all. There is some cursing so if you want to avoid that....yeah.
Firefly and Drive
So I've managed to watch up through "War Stories" on Firefly. Not many more episodes left and then it's time for Serenity. It's sad that quality shows don't seem to make it anymore. The more I watch, the more I realize television can be pretty useless. Soon I won't have to worry about it because I'll be off without TV for 3 months.
Speaking of other cancled FOX shows, since hearing the news of Drive's cancelation I decided there would be no harm in checking out the series and I wish I hadn't. Not because the show is bad but because it is so good!!! GAH! At least FOX will air the final two episodes later on in the summer. Too bad I won't be around to see them. I hope the last episode gives some sense of closure because I really want to know who wins.
SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SCENE THE SERIES!!!!!!
Is it bad that I want everyone to win? But if I had to make a choice it would be between Alex and Leigh. I really hope that Alex finds his wife because he appears to be the only person who had someone taken from them however I really want Leigh to win because she has lost both of her partners. Ivy was a traitor (to avoid being shot of course) but she could have not shot out her former teamates tires. After that Leigh and Susan were left stranded and missed the next clue. When they found out where they needed to be, the showed up a day late and were eliminated from the race. "God told me 'You would win this'" is all Susan had to say so she takes Leigh and they start to look for a sign. They get their sign only to be attacked and tragicaly Susan dies. But right before she does, Susan tells Leigh that God told her that not Susan, but Leigh would win this and I hope she does. But then there is Wendy who no doubt has secrets of her own. But yet again, I really love the John and Violet team....it's so hard. And who could forget the old people on the motorcycle? What happened to them....?
The CW fails. and DRIVE--UPDATED
So according to Kristen at E!, the Pussycat crud has been given another season. Honestly, how many more people can you keep adding to the already large group? Here's a hint, more isn't going to make them any better. OTH, Supernatural and VM had better get renewals as well.
Fox has also pulled Drive off the schedule. I didn't watch it for lack of time but the FOX network really sucks at that. How many more days do we need to air Amerian Idol?
*UPDATE: So Drive has been cancled and this really sucks because I just started watching the Pilot on myspace and WOW!!!!! Too bad we won't find out what happens...
The Doomed 'ships
*Warning: This blog is a little fan-girly so unless you like reading people's opinions on different relationships in different shows just steer yourself away.*
I'm doomed to pick the couple that fail. Apparently I don't conform with what the majority of people like because when I see a couple and they become the shows OTP for me, they ultimately seem to not end up together.
VM-
I don't have time or energy to explain my love for the Duncan and Veronica pairing, but there is no hint that they will ever make contact in the near future which saddens me. Though perhaps with the appearance of *ak* **ne and *l*r*n*e *e*d*an in the last episode, we might hear something of how he and the coma baby are doing. I just don't see this True Love Story getting any more chapters.
Grey's Anatomy-
I'm a closet Grey's fan. Shh.. While most aspects of the show seem to annoy me (The only regular characters I can stand every episode are Bailey and Addison) I have found a bright spot in Addison and Derek but with him puppy dog eyes at Meridth (which makes me want to gouge out my own eyes) and Addison getting a spin-off I would say this love is dead. The funny part is, I've never seen an episode of season 2, so I just fell in love with the pairing through season 3 episodes.
Ugly Betty-
While it's hard to know if Betty and Henry will ever get together, I really wish they would. It's not that I have anything against Charlie (none of this is really her fault) this nerd love is just too good and pure to pass up.
Conviction-
I was rooting for Christina and Brian all season long and they finally realize they have feelings for each other and what happens? NBC cancels the series.
Buffy-
The greatest love story about Cookie Dough ever. Nothing to really explain here, It's pretty ovbious right? I'm talking about Oz and Cordelia of course. He plays the guitar and she listens to music. Joss let me down big time when these two didn't get together.
Oh wait. I'm confused. Cookie dough was Buffy and Angel. My bad. That's what I was shooting for. Scratch Oz and Cordy. Unless he is imortal and she kills things in her spare time, and ya know didn't die. Unless she came back and died again and came back again. Buffy and Angel *swoon*.
What's the what
The end of the semester is almost here and I for one couldn't be more thrilled. It's not that I've had a bad time, I just really need the summer break to clear my head. I'm burnt out on school and there is no end in sight just yet.
Dead Like Me-
Didn't see it when it originally aired but fell in love with it when it ran on Sci-Fi. But with many scheduling conflicts I was having trouble seeing the episodes so I decided to rent it. I've just finished the second disk of season one and me and two friends are in love with the series though I am really saddened by Rebecca Gayheart's departure. I just really really don't like Daisy. Hopefully I can rent out the rest of season one before I go all incommunicado this summer. I'm excited with the news that a DLM movie has recieved the Green Light. Hopefully most of the original cast can find there way back because it would be no where near as good if everyone doesn't make it.
Firefly-
Another show I've wanted to see and have started to watch. I've only seen the first disk but when funds allow, I plan on finishing the series and watching Serenity. Kaylee is my favorite character, but Zoe is a close second. During my viewing of Bushwacked, when the guy hits the winshield my roomate opened our door at the exact same time and I nearly had a heart attack. It was almost as bad as the scene in BtVS's Hush when that lady is looking out the window and the Gentleman walks by. I jumped so high when I saw that.
Freaks and Geeks-
Downloaded a few episodes but missed a lot of the major plotlines so me and a friend are watching the series on DVD. We've finished the first two disks and I'm pleased with all of the bonus features. However the Behind the Scenes stuff so far is kind of a let down because it's mostly John Francis Daley running around and being rather annoying. But the audition tapes are fun to watch.
The Top Model pannel is just wrong
Natasha? Are you freaking kidding me? Seriously? Renee should have won the interview part and someone else should have won the commercial part. It's lies. I don't think I've said (or heard my friend say) the F-word so many times in one 5 minute period. At least the crazy went home.
Promoting of the videos
So I've probably already done this, but I'm gonna do it again. I've found that I really enjoy making Fan Videos. Right now I'm just focusing on VM videos but perhaps one day I will branch out ( I have an idea or two). Bellow are the three that I already have up on You Tube so if you get bored, feel free to check them out. What I would really appreciate is feedback on the ones I've made and ideas for ones that I could make. *The same goes for banners as well. I've made a few for a few people and I would like to keep doing it, but alas, like the videos I am out of ideas*.

Podcast 34--They say it's your birthday
The new Neptune Pirate Radio Episode is up!!! This one is extra long to mark our one year anniversary!!! This episode features Sandy, Theo, Cameron and Bailey as they relieve some of our greatest moments, have an in-depth discussion about what we do each week to prepare our podcast, a special guest and more! Listen to it via our website, iTunes, or Myspace.
"Betty's" Henry was on "Buffy"
Just when you think you've seen them all..
So I've thought since I originally finished BtVS that I had seen all 144 episodes. I was wrong. I had seen 143. There was still one more magical little episode to wrap my brain around and now I have done it. Two years after starting this series, I finally watched the final episode: 2 x 07--Lie to Me."
Buffy: Nothing is ever simple anymore. I'm constantly trying to work it out; who to love or hate, who to trust. It's just like the more I know the more confused I get.
Giles: I believe that's called growing up.
Buffy: I'd like to stop then okay?
Giles: I know the feeling.
Buffy: Does it ever get easy?
Giles: You mean life?
Buffy: Yeah. Does it get easy?
Giles: What do you want me to say?
Buffy: Lie to me.
Giles: Yes. It's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true. The bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats and we always defeat them and save the day. Noone ever dies and we always live happily ever after.
Buffy: Liar.
A handy new trick
I recently discovered that FOX has a myspace page where they upload episodes of their shows. Services like this that ABC, CBS, FOX, CW and probably NBC (I don't watch any of their shows) use are a great tool for those who want to watch a show but don't have the time or resources to watch it when it originally airs. This was the case for me and "Bones". I had seen a few episodes last season and downloaded the free season premier off iTunes but I have prior viewing commitments on Wednesday nights and so I have been boneless for quite some time now and since David Boreanaz is so amazingly gorgeous, all is now well. Even though streaming video will probably be the death of us and obesity will continue to rise and the world will fall to sh*t I'll just stick to being content and uninvolved emotionally.

New VM video is up on You Tube
I have a new video up on you tube called "Standing outside the fire". It's an ensemble video and I'm very proud of it. It turned out exactly how I pictured it and is better than my first video I would say.
Neptune Pirate Radio
B is the Big 1-0!
As I'm sure, everyone noticed the frontpage tribute to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the rest of the Whedon World. Many people who frequent the Buffy Board's were discussing what they were going to do to celebrate today (Which marks 10 years since 1 x 01 "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and 1 x 02 "The Harvest" aired). I celebrated by watching my favorite episode from each season as a way to avoid doing any studying for midterms!
1-Welcome to the Hellmouth
2- Becomming 2
3- Earshot (The first episode I ever saw almost exactly 2 years ago)
4- Hush
5- The Body
6- Once More With Feeling
7- Chosen
From The Beginning to The End it was a show about a girl who became a woman who always thought she was alone when the truth was, she never was. It's a show that I enjoy watching and a group of actors who are amazingly gifted and tallented.
Joyce: "Okay. Have a good time. I know you're going to make friends right away, just think positive. And honey? Try not to get kicked out."
Invisible Children
It only took one month, but I finally finished my fanvid. Granted it basically sucks but it was my first attempt so I can't be too negative about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLDT-EkNN2E
Watch, don't watch, comment, don't comment, rate, don't rate.
There is also a shoutout to a person who has been incredibly helpful to me on there. :-)
I just got back from viewing a showing of the "Invisible Children" documentary and I don't even know what to say about it. If you havn't seen it, please go somewhere where it is showing or find it on the net or something, make the attempt to watch it because it is worth your time. If you have already seen it, feel free to talk to me about it. I would love to hear other peoples reactions. http://www.invisiblechildren.com
