[mp3com-artist]Mariachi El Bronx[/mp3com-artist] are the mariachi alter egos of Los Angeles punk rock band [mp3com-artist]The Bronx[/mp3com-artist]. That may seem like an odd idea, but when you hear it you wonder why every band doesn't have a mariachi alter ego. [mp3com-artist]Mariachi El Bronx[/mp3com-artist] write songs that carry the same punk spirit as those they record as [mp3com-artist]The Bronx[/mp3com-artist], but which are written in the style of traditional Mexican genres like cumbia, norteño and bolero.  They also trade their electric guitars, basses and keyboards for Mexican instruments like the vihuela, accordion, bajo sexto, jarana and trumpet. The result is a complete genre mish-mash that's unpredictable and fun. Mp3.com is featuring Mariachi El Bronx as part of its coverage of the Austin City Limits Festival. The band is really what the ACL Festival is all about - bringing together a wide range of cultures, arts and people to create something greater.  So check out their single "48 Roses," off of their new album Mariachi II, and open yourself up to a whole new style of music.
