As someone who grew up in the 90's, it's hard to believe that [mp3com-artist]MxPx[/mp3com-artist] are turning 20 this year. Their California skate-punk sound is something that is quintessentially youthful, but they, along with like minded groups such as [mp3com-artist]Green Day[/mp3com-artist] and[mp3com-artist]NoFX[/mp3com-artist], have proven their longevity by continuing with album after album of fun, energetic punk. [mp3com-download url="mxpx2.mp3" artist="MxPx" song="Far Away" expiration="05/08/2012" email="none" label="MRI/ Rock City"/] It's been five years since [mp3com-artist]MxPx[/mp3com-artist]'s last album, 2007's Secret Weapon, and their new album Plans Within Plans shows that they've matured a bit. Whereas their past songs reflected the youthful attitude of their music with lyrics that dealt with issues like girls, teenage (and then later post college) angst and partying, the songs on Plans Within Plans deal with issues that reflect the fact that the trio are now five years older. Longtime fans should not despair though, because their boisterous sound is fully intact. Look no further than "Far Away" to hear a track that is fast, fun, and inside and out[mp3com-artist]MxPx[/mp3com-artist]. And for a little trip down memory lane, check out the video to one of their classics, "Chick Magnet"
